Looks like brands have been stepping up their games in neutral and metallic shadows. This is such a cool feature! I don’t remember seeing it before but I could have missed it, but is this one of the new features from the site redesign?
One thing I love is that this really puts you and your team’s work into perspective. It’s easy to forget just how much you all do, since we the readers just see it from the day to day side, but there’s no denying with 400 products reviewed! Plus the extra posts, like quizzes, sales, free for hauls, questions and opinions; whoever says a blogger’s job is easy needs a reality check.
It’s new! These are some of the little things that can be done now that the whole system has been redone (not just aesthetically but as far as code is concerned, it’s very different!). I could always compile something like this manually, but it would take days and subsequently, my time has always been best spent on reviews/swatches/photos. 🙂
I’ll be doing weekly, monthly, and quarterly recaps now on a regular basis!
Very cool feature. Glad it’s not an extra chore for you 🙂
Oh my goodness, this truly shows how hard you work!! Love this new feature and I echo the commenter above wholeheartedly! Amazing job!
Colourpop’s Melrose is to die for. I want to buy another Forever Freshman JUST for that shadow. It is THAT good!!
Haha! It is such a nice shade!
Christine, thank you so much for this! You provide so much depth of information, and do a wonderful services for all of us makeup fanatics!
No problem, Susan!
Oh I really like this new feature!
One thing I will say is that I’d personally prefer it if palettes were ranked as single products instead of ranking the individual shades, but that may just be me, and this is still very helpful either way!
We were considering that after seeing how many palette shades came up (though it is the holiday season), but it’s a time-intensive change, so if we change it, it may take awhile to do so!
Wow, nearly 400 reviews in just ONE months time shows such a high level of professional dedication that no other site is doing! With the HUGE kicker being that you managed (somehow) to pull this off all while making a major move. WOW! Also love this new feature a bunch!
I really may *need* to invest in that Marc Jacobs palette. It looks to be the perfect neutral-ish palette ( except for the purples! ) Or the Viseart Paris Nudes (are those from PN or Sultry Muse, I forgot?) . Either or. Both are stunning!
A lot of palettes in September probably contributed to the extraordinarily high number!
I really like this feature. So much happens in the makeup world. You write so many reviews and you do an awesome job here. This spotlights the job you do in a good way and serves as a very good remainder for the shopping list.
Well thought of and executed.
Thank you, Helene!
I really like the “Month in Review” posts. It’s really awesome to see all the best rated products from the month it really focuses my wish list! Awesome idea!
Thanks a lot, Ellen!
Colorpop had quite a few gems recently!
They have!
This is very handy, thanks Christine!
Yay!
I love everything about your website and will gladly take the good with the bad if it means having Temptalia as a resource, but may I second the opinion that I wish palettes made the list based on the complete palette rating and not eyeshadow singles.
We are considering it 🙂
I love this page, but many of the ones I’m clicking on turn out to be in palettes and I don’t want an entire palette. I usually buy singles. Would it be very easy to add something to the page indicating which ones are only sold in a palette?
I know it might be tricky with some palettes, like where the palette includes a mix of LE shades and permanent shades (the recent Nars blush palette).
It would mean that anything in a palette wouldn’t be included, whether or not it was a permanent shade (because there are permanent shades only found in palettes), so that would hold true.
Wow – all of that and moving across states as well! You are a legend Christine. No doubts about it.
Well, this was for September, haha! I moved in October, ,so we’ll see how this month turns out 🙂
Busy month Team Temptalia! And a move too! Oy!!
Percentage wise, a decent month too. I’m loving the month in review post 😀
Thanks, Wendy!
Wow thanks so much for your hard work! I’m loving the breakdown. That Marc Jacobs palette looks so pretty! It’s a very unusual but complementary set of shades. To me anyway ☺️
It is! I liked how non-traditional the MJB palette was.
You are a hard working sister Christine! Great job! We enjoy your reviews very much.
Thank you, Denise!
Wow…great idea! I’m loving this new feature, Christine. Temptalia is my first stop when considering a product I haven’t seen in person. I can always count on you to be honest, your photos are great quality and your reviews are well-thought-out. Just a wonderful overall experience coming here. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much, Emme! 🙂
