Lipsticks $15 & Under | 2016 Editor's Favorites

Top 10 of 2016: Lipsticks $15 & Under

In what was easily a year that saw an enormous number of lipstick releases, there were a lot of great shades to choose from, even if you were on a budget from brands like ColourPop, Maybelline, and Makeup Geek. I did, specifically, exclude liquid lipsticks (which, for the first time, will have its own best of list!).

What were your favorites?

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Loaded bolds for the win! I agree totally! You know, this whole series is helping (helping?) me reconstruct wish lists that had been put to bed. Oh, well, that’s addiction recovery for you! Good product on any end is never very far from the surface, and all it takes is a wee reminder….. smoking red for the big win. Think I’ll wear it tonight and bring those bolds into more regular rotation. DS/budget also did well this year.

Again, some lovely choices! Yet oddly enough, none I own. Or not yet, anyhow. Those 2 greigey shades from Maybelline Loaded Bolds are still very tempting! Especially since both my MAC Blankety and Modesty are getting old and beginning to smell a bit….?
The only bargain lipstick I bought this year that I’ve loved is Colourpop RayeZor. Or shall I say, the only non-liquid bargain lipstick.

Missed Rayezor, but almost sprang. I believe both macs, certainly blankety, are more pink. (Not a pink person: greige is my alternative. And mauve is my alternative to coral.) I think smoking red and coffee addiction would be terrific on you, if you’re not duped to the max. I’m going to score the gray over it and another, next Ulta sale. The 4 I got all hit this list. Very nice offering. I think C did a round up.

I’d ask what is it, since I have virtually no sense of smell, but it might spoil maybelline for me. Funny, i don’t remember the scent from when I could smell. Maybe maybelline sucked back then, and I didn’t buy any!

I’m a lipstick junkie, and it was lipstick overdose this year!! My absolute fave find was MAC Kling-It- On, such a unique color and finish, edgy but still wearable, really made my brown eyes and dark hair pop, had to get a backup

Awww, you’re welcome Rachel! So glad you’re enjoying MAC Kling It On 🙂 I have way way too many lippies, but that’s one of my top 5 for sure. Something about the color, finish, and translucency makes it so unique and interesting, glad you were able to snag one
