Puree in outer corner/ outer half of eyelid and crease. Candied Peach in crease. Luscious in inner corner and inner half of eyelid. MAC Teddy eyeliner smudged in upper lashline. Forgot the rest of the questions! ?

Most used : Clinique Pink Honey Pop Cheek Pop Blush. MAC Mineralize Multi Effect Mascara. Milani Bella Gel Eyeshadow in Bella Ivory. Almay Smartshade CC Cream. Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. ABH Brow Wiz. Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Translucent Pressed Powder. Sun Bum SPF 30 Mango lip balm. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Neutralizer Concealer.

New beauty discoveries : I guess I knew this already but just wait for MAC limited edition sold out stuff to arrive at the CCO. Just found the Mariah Carey My Mimi Skinfinish bronzer thing from last holiday there. It was sold out everywhere last December but ironically now it arrives at the CCO? Why bother with the hype!

My skin tone/coloring: light-medium yellow toned. I wear NARS Fiji.

Favorite look you worn: Tarina Tarantino Dreamy palette on the eyes, Tarte Exposed on cheeks, Chanel Dragon on lips.

Most used product of the week: probably Chanel Dragon.

Any new beauty discoveries: The new Besame Snow White Palette! It’s gorgeous.

Mariella Avatar

Isn’t the Dreamy palette wonderful? I do so wish that TT would become available again. I’ve only got 2 of her palettes – Dreamy and Emerald Pretty – but they are so outstandingly excellent and I’m sorry I missed out on getting more of her 5-pan palettes.

My skin tone: Medium Warm (Urban Decay Naked Skin 5.0, Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 410 Bisque)

Favorite look I wore this week: I used the Colourpop Yes Please Palette with NARS Outer Limits to create an lovely coral orange eye, topped with a deep royal blue mascara from LANCOME, and used UD’s Bang blush and Bang lipliner (filled in with Estee’s Blossom Bright lip shine), and Anastasia’s highligher in Summer. I have SO MUCH LOVE for these colors in the Yes Please palette: Big Cocktails (medium bright orange), Champs (a heavenly soft matte peach that looks fantastic above my crease), and Spoiled (medium red). I always knew I looked good in coral lipsticks, but had no idea that a coral eye would be equally appealing.

Most used product of the week: NARS Outer Limits Hardwired eye shadow. I’ve had this since either last fall or the fall before and never pulled it out because it just looked too sheer. This week I wore it alone (not even mascara), then with some of my favorite shades from the Huda Rose Gold Palette, and then with the Colourpop Yes Please palette. It looks absolutely lovely all by itself (who would have thought???), and it gets lovelier still with a pop of orange or rose in the crease. This may be the easiest eye shadow look I’ve ever worn and it is also one of the prettiest.

Any new beauty discoveries? Discoveries in my stash include NARS Outer Limits (see above), UD’s Bang blush (bright red orange), UD’s Bang lip liner (more of that red-orange), and Anastasia’s Glow Kit in That Glow (the Sweets glow kit is my jam in the spring when my skin is lighter, and the lovely yellow-toned colors in That Glow are really working well for me now that I have more color). I also forgot how great blue mascara is in the summer. It looks essentially like any regular mascara until I am outside in the sunlight, and then people are like, “Oh wow, are you wearing BLUE mascara???” I am milking every last single second out of these lush summer colors before fall comes in and steals my bright sunshine colors away!

Skin tone: Very pale with cool undertones. NW5-10, although right this minute probably more 10-15 as I actually got a little tan this summer.

Favorite look: I used some new products from Gilded Cage Cosmetics including a Revolution Eye Shadow in Jeweled Aubergine and used that over the entire mobile lid with MAC Omega to blend out the crease and transition. I used my trusty Pearl Highlighter from Becca on the browbone and the inner corner and was happy with the look when completed. The e/s stick is really a beautiful color and really screamed fall to me. I also used the lipstick Bold Coral but didn’t love it with the eye look so switched to Dusty Rose Liquid Lip from ABH and liked that combo better. I ordered the Gilded Cage Cosmetics from Australia and when they arrived I sound that they were made in Italy, LOL.

Most used product: Cover Girl Healthy Elixir Foundation in Ivory. I have worn it everyday this week but still not sure what I think of it. I am trying it with different primers and using it to mix with other foundations. Jury is still out. I just ordered a couple of Catrice foundations including one that has been discontinued from their line but which a fellow Temptalia reader used for a look and it was beautiful on. If I like it when I get it I will purchase a couple more bottles. I purchased it on Ebay and it is coming from Great Britain so won’t be here for a little while.

New beauty discoveries: New to me but likely not to most other readers of Temptalia and that is the Milk Makeup line. I purchased their Blur Stick and Hydrating Oil Primer. So far, I am loving both of them. I was intrigued when I read that they were great to travel with because they are not liquids and consequently don’t count towards your total liquid on the airplane issue. In particular, I love the oil as it goes on very lightly and makes my skin look really hydrated. I want to try a few more things.

I have never heard of Gilded Cage cosmetics here! I looked them up and found the eye creme in jeweled Aubergine and it does look lovely. In fact a lot of their products appealed to me, especially their lipsticks. That’s my new beauty discovery for the week. Thanks Deborah!

Deborah S. Avatar

You are very welcome, Genevieve. I don’t know exactly how but I am subscribed to their Instagram feed and kept seeing these beautiful looks and decided to check them out. I made a rather small order of one lipstick, two glosses (although I am not much of a gloss lover) and three of the shadow sticks. I got the Aubergine, Sage and Rose Taupe shadow sticks. I haven’t used the other shades yet but one thing I did find and that is the dry down time is a little longer than other products I have used with the same texture. Since I have hooded eyes I really had to hold my eye closed to not transfer to above the crease. They wore well for about 6 hours before I noticed a slight creasing. They did wash off quite easily. The glosses that I picked up both have a glitter look although they didn’t leave chunks of glitter on my lips. They were fairly standard as a gloss. Really pretty but not something I use all of the time. The lipstick is lovely and I love the color although for me probably more of a spring/summer shade. I purchased it based on a look that I saw on their Instagram and wish I had gone with a little darker, vampy color. Overall, I am happy with my purchases and will watch for any new product development.

Genevieve Avatar

As I have hooded eyes too, I wasn’t sure about the eye creme, but shades do look pretty. Sage and Rose Taupe would be my choices too.
Thank you for the info on these – especially the lipsticks. I will have a look for some stockists here so I can try out the shades in person.

My skin tone/coloring: fair, cool

Favorite look you worn: from Stila, Starlight on the inner 2/3 of mobile lid, Puppy as a transition shade and Espresso on the outer corner and to deepen my crease

Most used product of the week: Lise Watier SunSmart (I love this stuff)

Any new beauty discoveries: a sad one – that the Jouviance eye serum I loved and which was really having an effect on my drooping left upper lid, is likely what caused the rash/scaliness/redness on my one eye – only that one eye! I’d used it for several months and then suddenly had this reaction. I’ve not used it since June and then a few nights ago, decided to give it another try and after 2 days I could feel that I was starting to have the same reaction again. So sad.

My skin tone/coloring: Light neutral skin tone, dark hair, green eyes

Favorite look worn: KvD neutral quad from Shade & Light Eyeshadow Palette, Clinique Blushing Blush in Cupid, UD Vice Lipstick in Rapture

Most used product of the week: KvD Shade & Light Eyeshadow Palette

Any new beauty discoveries: Not this week

My skin tone/coloring: fair/warm-toned (elf Flawless Finish Foundation in Natural/Porcelain)

Favorite look you worn: Today’s look! NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk, ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Ignition (from the Amanda Steele collab), Makeup Revolution Flawless Matte Ultra 32 palette, elf Cream Eyeliner in Black, Tarte Sex Kitten liner, Wet n Wild Color Icon Blush in Pearlescent Pink, Wet n Wild MegaGlo Makeup Stick – Highlight, and Essence Volume Stylist 18h Curl & Hold Mascara… No lip products, because they’re still healing.

Most used product of the week: Besides the basics, it was the Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 palette.

Any new beauty discoveries: elf Cream Eyeliner is amazing! I can see myself repurchasing that. It’s only $3, applies beautifully, and stays put. Why would I ever buy a more expensive one?

My skin tone/coloring: Fair/ neutral, black hair, blue eyes

Favorite look you wore: I’ve been experimenting more this week, for good and ill. I was really happy with a look I did yesterday with a combined dark blue and red-brown eye paired with a neutral lip.

Most used product of the week: I got a new makeup table, does that count? 😛

Any new beauty discoveries: Although I could barely squeeze through the crowd at Sephora, I got a sample of the new Fenty foundation. I’ve worn it a couple of times, with and without primer, and am pretty impressed. It’s definitely not going to work for everyone, but my complexion leans oily, and it’s performed well even though it’s been hotter than Hades this week.
That said, the last couple of weeks have been about rediscovery for me, trying to pull out things I haven’t used in a while.

My skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones

Favourite look you worn: I pulled out my Guerlain Les Gris quad the other day and did a lovely look using the darker blue, matte grey in the crease and light blue shimmer with peachy lipstick.

Most used product of the week: Peacy lipsticks – Ginger Spice by Elizabeth Arden and Peach Pop by Clinique

Any new beauty discoveries: Not really.

My skin tone/coloring: Medium w/ olive undertones MAC NC37 or Lancôme Teint Idole Foundation N360, deep brunette, blue-green eyes w/ gold flecks.

Favorite look you worn: Yesterday when I wore my brand new MAC Nicki’s Nude Lipstick w/ a little bit of N•U•D•E Lipglass on top! The rest of my look Incorporated MAC Oh My, Passion Pearlmate Powder, CP Here Kitty Kitty highlighter, UD Jawbone for cheeks, and Lorac Unzipped rose-gold shades, plus, some MAC Fig 1 to strengthen the plummy purple outer V I had done. Used Nyx Slide-on Waterproof Eye Pencil in Jewel on lower lashline and my standard black wing on upper lashline. Felt so glam! Unfortunately, I didn’t bother to take pics. My bad.

Most used product of the week: Sample of Fenty Foundation in 290, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, Maybelline Full & Soft Waterproof Mascara, MJ Blaquer Highliner, Essence Midnight In Paris Gel Liner, UD Jawbone, DoC Mírame highlighter.

Any new beauty discoveries: Nothing off the top of my head, really? Well, except that I really love a LE lipstick in a pretty light peachy nude!

My skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.

Favorite look you worn: Eyes — UDPP in Enigma. Kat von D Saint + Sinner Palette: Baptism (base shade from crease to brow); Worship (crease); Exorcism (outer crease and lid); Chalice (lid); Looxi Beauty HL in Pandora (brow bone; inner corner). UD 24/7 Eye Pencil in Psychedelic Sister. Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Mascara. Lips — UD Vice Lipstick in Voodoo. Cheeks — Tarte blush in Mirage; Looxi Beauty Pandora.

Most used product of the week: My Coastal Scents Hot Pots palette that I put together.

Any new beauty discoveries: The Kat von D Saint + Sinner Palette is amazing!!! The shadows are so gorgeous on. The packaging is breath-taking. It may just be my favorite beauty release of the whole year.

Tone/colouring: With summer gone, I’m slowly returning to my very fair neutral, natural skin tone. I still have most of my summer warmth tho, so I’m continuing to use my medium sand from Tarte Rainforest of the Sea, for a while anyway.

Fave look worn: Eyes/Loving blending Colourpop Secrets (soft pink from Belle of the Ball) as a transition atop TF Just Peachy Velvet Matte Palette, colour Peach butter (all over), then on the outer lid Peaches and Cream blending into Just Peachy in the mid-inner lid. I use Just Ripe or Chocolate Dipped in the deep crease–then blend well. Stila kitten as an inner corner highlight.
Face/Contour is Shade & Light powder formulation by KVD.
NYX highlighter in rose/pink called Enigmatic (which btw is just as nice as the far pricier Jouer Rose Quartz, which crumbled on me after a month of use and is basically a mess). I just bought the Hourglass Blush Luminous Flush, which is gorgeous and have been using it every day.

Most Used: I’m loving TF’s new Peach Blur all over as a finish. It really does blur and glow. I use it like it was free. 🙂

New: BH Cosmetics Studio Pro HD brow pencil (just as good as the premium brands–much better than some) and Flawless Brow Trio in light colour. Both excellent value.

I had thought to put some thoughts about Lorac mega 4 in, and decided to do it here. Despite being colorful, but muted, really have not thought the 2 looks I’ve done were outstanding. Then I went to night job, and a Chanel counter salesperson came in. I do not know this woman. She blindsided me by asking what l/s I had on and blew it right out of my mind. (It was UD Lovedrunk from the mini set.) She complimented the eye look as well, when I thought it was fairly undifferentiated, fairly low pigment, and kind of blah. She said it was subtle, not overly green, and highly flattering. Sugar cookie in the crease, lt sage inner, moss w/a bit of lagoon in the outer vee, cotton to the brow bone. Roller lash brown, no liner, no tear duct, no nuthin’. This woman was 15-20 years younger than me. So, eye of the beholder. She was not trying to be pleasant; she meant it. So, The shimmers are not very shimmery, esp compared to the sunset palettes. Some are satins with a tad of sparkle. There are not a lot of overlap with other Lorac shades. Some are def misnamed. You can do a complete look. Really don’t think it’s a must have or that Ms C needs to do a full review. Haven’t played with it enough to really evaluate, but mega 3, that I just got and is less my colorways, seems more cohesive and better consistency of formula for matte/ shimmer. Not all shades in either finish seem the same, somehow. Remember my age: old, when I say I think it is a tad of an old lady palette! When you see muted mufe, you think, ah, well conceived and executed. This, not so much. I do think it will grow on me, but it has not inspired me.
