My skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Favorite look you worn: IT CC cream (I felt so “made up” but in a good way for my first week back to work), Lise Watier Chic Glam shadow pencil as a base for the old Kalahari duo, Sephora Cappuccino to line and Marc Jacobs Submarine skinny liner for my water line, MAC Craving on lips and Dior Rosy Glow blush on cheeks
Most used product of the week: boring, boring but again it’s MAC Craving (if they ever stop making it, I’ll have a real problem) and the Dior blush
Any new beauty discoveries: That Smashbox released some new Cover Shot 8 pan palettes and Minimalist was just the perfect one for me. In combo with Smoky from the original release, it’s total perfection.
My skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
Favorite look you’ve worn: EYES — UD Primer Potion in Enigma. SauceBox Nocturne Palette: Sweet (base), Maple (crease), Sage (inner lid), Spell (over Sage on outer corner of lid), and Rich (patted on center of lid over Sage), and Midnight (lower lashline). E.l.f. Studio Blush in Gotta Glow (brow bone, inner corner). UD 24/7 Eye Pencil in Perversion (upper waterline). NYX Faux Black Eyeliner in Burnt Sienna (lower waterline). Physician’s Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Mascara. BROWS — The powder from e.l.f. Eyebrow Kit in Medium Brown. LIPS — a sheer plum Holographic lip gloss from Sally’s Beauty.
I don’t remember the brand. CHEEKS — Tarte Exposed. FACE — NYX Angel Veil Face Perfecting Primer, BH Cosmetics Naturally Flawless Foundation in Ivory, RCMA No Color Powder, Sephora Tranquil (contour), e.l.f. Studio Blush in Gotta Glow (HL), and e.l.f. Original Mist & Set.
Most used product of the week: My usual dailies. I had migraines all week and didn’t wear makeup most days.
Any new beauty discoveries: The lipsticks in the MAC x Jeremy Scott Lips x 9 Future Emotions Palette make really good cream blushes in a pinch. Maybe even better blushes than lipsticks. lol
Skin Tone/Coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, salt & pepper hair
Favorite Look Worn: Still doing my one-palette-per-week challenge. This week it was The Emily Edit Wants palette, which I just bought this past weekend. It has been a lot of fun to work with. BROWS—NYX Proof It Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer, Diorshow Browstyler in 004, Clinique Brow Shaper in Charcoaled. EYES—Same NYX primer, The Emily Edit The Wants Palette (Cupcake on lids, Midwest in crease, Cheer in outer V blended into crease, The Cream on brow bones), NYX Worth The Hype Mascara. FACE—Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup, Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, RCMA No Color Powder, MAC Mineralize Blush in Sweet Enough. LIPS—MAC See Sheer.
Most Used Product (not counting usuals): The Emily Edit Wants Palette
New Beauty Discoveries: I tried NYX Worth The Hype Mascara for the first time this week and WOW, this stuff is great! My skimpy little lashes look full and there’s no clumping.
Lt to med, coolish. Well, I have an eye infection, which means no brush redipped, no liner, and choose a mascara to throw out, when it’s over…. Did wear eyes one day, when I simply had to wear the Lorac POTC and the Sparrow double end lip on Talk Like a Pirate Day. Used the warmer and more gold colors, bec I usually take the blush color cue from the lip, and wanted to use Ofra Mai Tai, which is a light to med yellowish orange. Greige lips and yellow/orange toned blush is a departure for me. Most used: only the minimal regulars. With what is wrong with me, my eyes do this a lot. I think it is recurrent staph A. And yes, have to use dog eye ointment because my MD is a loser. With judicious use of antiinfective wipes, every time I touch anything, have never infected m/u yet. Discovery: check/try/swatch the Cover Fx new concealers, do not blind buy online. The colors are not comparable to their older concealers. I swatched Med 1 P, Med 2P, and Light P2. I showed the SA who had shown me where they were, in the new Ulta, saying, ‘you never know how red your undertones are, until you swatch stuff.’ She said ‘God, they’re awful.’ It might have something to do with fluorescent lighting, because the light one was much pinker outside. The others were straight up yellow. Like the Fenty foundations on the cool side. Think I will go in and finger apply the light shade for a trial run. Try it outside and with other lighting. I dabbed it from my hand to my undereye, and all the things said in consumer reviews are true. It is very non-creasing and smooth. I’d love it, if I could get a shade.
So sorry about your eye infection. I used my cat’s clindomycin prescription on acne. And thank you for the advice on the CoverFX concealer. I have an old one and would not have bothered to swatch.
Skin tone: NC20-25.
Favourite look: I’ve been liking The Saem Tip Concealer under the eyes and on strategic areas, Viseart Petit Pro 3’s browns and pink inner corner highlight on the eyelids, K-Palette 2-Way Eyebrow Liquid for brows, MAC Luna as highlight, and Shiseido VisionAiry Gel Lipstick in Sleeping Dragon. It’s basically a clear, natural complexion with some definition on the eyes and a brown-red lip colour.
Most used product of the week: Aside from my regular base products, it’s Shiseido Sleeping Dragon. In fact, I’ve been wearing this almost everyday ever since I got it!
New discovery: More like a re-discovery. After 5 years of ignoring my Naked 3 palette, I think I’ve finally got the hang of how to use it.
My skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Favourite look you worn: Louder, from baremineral The Playlist on the lid, with Mysterious Sky from Soft and Smokey on the lower lid and and Eureka (an olive shade) in the crease. Paired with EA’s Rustic Red (a darkish red brown shade) on the lips.
Most used product of the week: All my staples
Any new beauty discoveries: That it’s really tricky trying to find a dupe for Mysterious Sky as a single, for my daughter in law, who loves the shade.
Skin tone: yellow-neutral Dior Backstage 3N
No favorite look, I change EVERY time I wear makeup.
Most used product: Natasha Denona’s Sunset palette
Discover: an NYX lip gloss pallet & an Iman blush in Sunlit Copper (so beautifully peachy copper).
Skintone / coloring : light, MAC NC 15 – 20, med brown hair and eyes
Favorite look worn : ABH Prism. MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Soft Ochre as eyeshadow primer. Unity as transition. Roxy in the crease. Saturn to deepen the crease. Mix of Pyramid and Eternal on eyelid. Cargo Swimmables Eyeliner in Pebble Beach on upper lashline.
Cover Girl Remarkable Mascara in Very Black and Tarte Camera, Lights and Lashes Mascara in Black. Blush was Clinique Nude Pop. Loreal Colour Riche Shine Lipstick in Glossy Fawn
Foundation was Bare Minerals Original Foundation. Concealer was Maybelline Fit Me. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Ethereal to set undereye concealer. Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin Pressed Powder. Brows were ABH Brow Wiz in Soft Brown.
Most used product: Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin Pressed Powder. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder. ABH Brow Wiz. Cargo Swimmables Eyeliner in Pebble Beach. Cover Girl Remarkable Mascara and Tarte Camera, Lights and Lashes Mascara. MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Soft Ochre. Clinique Nude Pop Blush.
Any beauty discoveries : nope
Skin tone: light, cool (Boots No 7 Calico (UK) which I think is about NC15-20 although I keep getting prompts here telling me I’m medium neutral because of it?). Dark brown hair, blue eyes.
Favourite look: above foundation (Lift and Luminate), Smashbox Earthy eyeshadow to fill in brows, eyeshadow Urban Decay Troublemaker and Naked Smoky (Riot first 2/3 of lid into 7&7, Knockout in the crease and half of lower lash line, Combust from crease to brow, High for tearduct highlight). UD 24/7 Uzi upper lash line, Maybelline Unstoppable in Espresso (lightly applied) on waterline. Urban Decay Love Drunk on lips. Smashbox Full Exposure mascara. No contouring or blush (it’s an area of makeup I don’t understand so I often don’t).
Most used: Elf eye primer for experimenting at home, otherwise the UD Born to Run palette.
Beauty discoveries: my first time wearing Love Drunk out last night, I got so many compliments. My husband remembered that I was after UD Venom and came home with it today and it is as beautiful as I remembered. Also, I tried to step out of my comfort zone and get someone else to pick a colour for me. The elderly lady was delighted, but I’m not repeating that experiment in a hurry (and I’m not sure how to get Radio from Born to Run not to look silly on my blue-grey eyes).
My skin tone – medium warm, MAC NC 37, Armani 6.5
Favorite look I’ve worn – Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in Sand, great color match now, Smashbox Covershot Petal Metal, Hourglass Difffused Heat Blush, Shiseido Coral Shore lipstick.
Most used product of the week. Bobbie Brown brow pencil, CT lipglosses. Tinted moisturizer mixed with Drunk Elephant Sunshine Drops.
Any new beauty discoveries- Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Sunshine Drops. Perfection to mix with foundation or moisturizer for a natural tan on my face to match my body which is always darker, especially now.
My skin tone/coloring: Fair with neutral undertones and freckles, warm brown hair, green/gray/blue eyes.
Favorite look you worn: I’ve been wearing more bold lipsticks this month with very simple eyes, usually using my Lorac Palette Pro 4. I LOVE Bite Beauty Virgo, Pat McGrath Beautiful Creature and Executive Realness right now.
Most used product of the week: Probably my IT Cosmetics CC cream, but I have to be so careful with how much I use because it gets very cakey looking very easily on me.
Any new beauty discoveries: Not a new discovery, generally speaking, but I’ve been using whatever lipstick I use for the day as blush and I absolutely love the way it looks. Even the most pigmented and lightest application of blushes tend to look dry and cakey on me these days.
