Bite Beauty Four Little Bites Mini Amuse Bouche Lipstick Set Review & Swatches
Four Little Bites
Bite Beauty Four Little Bites Holiday 2018 Mini Amuse Bouche Lipstick Set ($25.00 for 0.20 oz.) is a new, limited edition set of travel-sized lipsticks that range from soft pink-coral to deep burgundy. Three of the four shades are from the permanent range, while Date is new to the Amuse Bouche range (and exclusive to the set). All four shades performed well and consistently with previous shades in the formula. I’m a big fan of Bite’s mini sets for the holidays as they’re still a good size but you’ll get four colors for about the price of one, full-sized shade.
Four Little Bites
LELimited Edition.
Date
Date is a slightly muted, medium pink-leaning coral with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had opaque pigmentation with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that was lightly tacky, so it adhered well on my lips with even application and didn’t emphasize my lip lines. It wore well for five hours and was hydrating while worn.

Formula Overview

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is supposed to have “bold, creamy color” with “extreme moisture, soft texture, and creamy wear.” The majority of the range is very pigmented–typically opaque with one pass–with a few shades being semi-opaque but usually buildable.
The consistency is very lightly creamy to lightly creamy with some shades requiring light-medium pressure and can pull the lip a bit when gliding it across the lips, though the color doesn’t appear ragged and the bullet itself doesn’t feel stiff (while other shades applied without tugging, so check individual shade reviews!) The majority of the shades I’ve tested have been lightly hydrating to non-drying and fairly comfortable to wear for the long-haul. They have a herbal, lemony scent but no discernible taste. They wear longer than average, from four to eight hours, depending on the intensity and propensity of the shade to stain.

Sake
Sake is a medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a satin sheen. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, which adhered evenly and smoothly across my lips without getting into my lip lines. The lipstick had a lightweight, lightly creamy texture that was dense in the tube but didn’t tug on my lips during application. There was light tackiness, which helped it stay in place and wear for five hours. The formula felt moisturizing to me over time.

Tannin
Tannin is a rich red with subtle, cool undertones and a cream finish. It had rich color payoff that applied evenly and fluidly across my lips for good, comfortable adhesion that stayed in place well for over six hours. There was a faint stain that was left behind, and the formula felt hydrating while worn. The consistency was lightweight with a bit of tackiness and light slip but not enough to feather or bleed on me.

Nori
Nori is a deep, reddened burgundy with subtle, warm undertones and a lightly glossy, cream finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage in a single layer, which applied evenly across my lips and never tugged on them during application. The consistency was moderately creamy with more slip than most shades within the range. This shade stayed on well for six and a half hours and was moisturizing over time.

On. My List.
Hope you love it, Helen!
You wear all of these shades exceptionally well, Christine. They do make for a nice holiday gift for the beauty junky. And Tannin had always been a favorite of mine. I will pass only because I am waiting for the arrival of the Scorpio lip color to launch. But, otherwise, great product.
Thank you so much, Sabrina!
What a cute little set! Do you use a lip liner or lip brush to get that clean line, especially for the darker colors? Thanks for such a thorough review Christine!
Nope, I don’t use lip brushes unless it comes in pan-form (like a lip palette) or something arrived very broken/melted/wonky and can’t be used directly from the tube.
Yay! Finally a set where I can actually wear (and would want to wear) all the colours!
Woohoo!
Of course I want this set for the Date shade… ?
Awww! 🙁 Here’s hoping it’ll be added to the line-up someday!
One word: GETTING.
Probably while on my way back home this evening.
Enjoy!!
Another great little set, especially the last two shades. This is really good value and a way to try the brand without forking out too much money. The perfect size too.
Bite does a great job on the holiday sets!
How do the dupe percentages work? Because tannin lists tannin as a 90% match….
Tannin in a different formula – not the same one 🙂
Love to see your swatches! I just got this set and I’ve never worn reds before but I’m wearing Nori today. One small discrepancy I saw on here is that this review lists Nori as a reddened burgundy with subtle, warm undertones but your main/original review for Nori lists it as a cool brown. If it’s seen as both warm and cool, is it mostly neutral but can change in different lighting?
So what’s interesting about colors is that a cooler brown -> warmer burgundy (because it’s a brown-based burgundy instead of a purple-based burgundy). I think it’s better categorized as a burgundy than a brown.
