ColourPop Good Sport Pressed Powder Shadow Palette Review & Swatches
Good Sport
ColourPop Good Sport 12-Pan Pressed Powder Shadow Palette ($16.00 for 0.36 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette for fall that features a mix of neutrals with pops of purple, yellow, and green. The colors came together cohesively, and there seemed to be a good mix of finishes and depths. Note: the press samples sent out of this palette have Trophies and Flow reversed; Trophies is intended to be a purple and Flow is intended to be a deep brown/taupe.

Wild Out
Wild Out is a soft, peachy copper with warm, orange undertones and a metallic finish. The pigmentation was opaque in one layer and applied evenly and smoothly onto my lid. The eyeshadow felt soft to the touch, lightly creamy, and was blendable and easy to work with. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before I noticed slight creasing.

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Hooky
Hooky is a deep copper with warm, orange undertones and a matte finish. The color payoff was opaque in a single layer, while the texture was soft and velvety without being powdery. It applied well to bare skin, blended out with little effort, and stayed on nicely for almost nine hours on me.

Rookie
Rookie is a medium, orange-copper with warm undertones and teal and pink sparkle over a metallic finish. The pigmentation was fantastic, while the eyesahdow felt smooth, almost wet in the pan, and adhered beautifully to bare skin. I was surprised at how well all of the sparkles translated onto my lid and how little fallout there was after eight and a half hours of wear.

Sista
Sista is a bright, medium-dark purple with warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had medium coverage in a single layer, which was somewhat buildable, but I could not get full pigmentation without using a tacky base with it. The texture was slightly grainy and prone to fallout due to its powderiness. It did last for eight hours on me, though.

Licious
Licious is a bright, light-medium yellow gold with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. The texture was slightly grittier compared to most of the brand’s shimmery shades as it was more loosely-pressed in the pan. There was some fallout during application if I wasn’t careful. It had excellent pigmentation that applied best by pressing onto my lid. It stayed on well for eight hours on me before it started to fade on me.

Trophies
Trophies is a medium plum with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was drier and a bit firm in the pan, which resulted in a stiffer texture. It was a challenge to get product onto my brush–I had to jab and push at it–and harder to diffuse and blend on my skin. The eyeshadow lasted well for seven and a half hours on me.

I’m confused. Is something missing between Trophies and Flow? No need to post my comment if it’s fixed and/or 20 other people said the same thing. I just spent 10 minutes trying to figure out how that plummy color was considered taupe ?♀️ I was like, “I know I’m a bit of a makeup noob and I tend to see color differently than most people, but that definitely doesn’t look taupe or have a grey cast.
Hi,
ColourPop’s press sample has them backwards (that’s how they arrived). Flow = taupe, Trophies = plum.
Are you sure? On the colourpop website they have Tropheis and Flow in the same order as you, and my good sport Palette is the same.
This is the information that ColourPop corporate gave me when I asked / brought it to their attention. They said my shades were backwards – this was back in September. I wonder if they ended up changing it based on the mix-up?
This palette is very interesting, but the two shades that didn’t score well are disappointing.
Glad this one reviewed well. I’ll be curious to compare this to the TF Holiday pallette in person. From photos, they look like they have several shades in common!
Mine arrives on Monday and I am excited 🙂 EBB has my heart!
Ebb and Hooked are my favourites – love that green shade of Ebb….
Interesting. I see several dupes for shades in a much pricier all matte palette that also just came out. I do prefer this palette right here so much more!
This is the first Colourpop palette that I have been interested in since their holiday releases last year. But I’m still on the fence on whether I need/want it, even though the price is pretty cheap, I still can’t determine whether I need it in my stash or not.
This color story excited me so much that I ordered before your review, Christine (which is rare). So glad to see that it performed well overall 🙂
YAY! I’ve been eagerly awaiting for your review on this palette <3
Anddddddd now I'm on the fence on ordering this… The two shades that drew in my interest most were the purples… but they seem to be the only DUD shadows in this! (they look super patchy lol..)
Yes, I've heard that purple shadows are super difficult to formulate but Colourpop has already NAILED purple formulas (like pressed shadow 143!), So I'm not sure what happened there… maybe compromising formula for the cost…
Thank you for the detailed review <3
I take that back… I thought 143 was a pressed pigment but maybe it wasn’t. Then it’s strange!
Wait, I thought this whole palette as called “animal print”? That’s what I saw in sneak peeks on Instagram. So much confusion, lol!
Their website lists it as Good Sport, and the back of the palette says Good Sport!
This comment made me think a bit. Putting together an animal print, plus the concept of sporting and the word “trophies”…could this be referring to hunting? If so, what a huge turnoff!!!! Please say it isn’t so, Colourpop!
Given that ColourPop has partnered with NKLA (no-kill shelter) a few times in the past, and that their fall collection is very back-to-school overall, I’m guessing “good sport” is more likely just as it sounds… about sports/athletics. There are other names in the launch like Rookie, Hooky, Trooper, JV, Juvenile, etc. along with acronyms like EBB and LOML. (And then an equal portion of their names relates to seemingly no particular theme, which is normal for ColourPop.)
Well, that’s GREAT news!!!! When I see an animal print next to words like “trophies,” my mind automatically jumps to a bad place. So thank you for setting me straight on this issue!
Now if only those two purples swatched better… 😀
Ordered this based on the swatches, and glad I did, before it comes up for a restock. Ironically, I have better CP dupes for the two duds. Maybe you can pop out Sista and put in 143…And forewent Rose All Day (Ebb) as well as Subculture (Trooper for abh Edge). Dupes for others I decided against as well. This is a terrific fall palette, that can do color family or multi/mix with ease. Pretty sure it will be in strong rotation. Not to mention CP was beginning to look like retread city, and this is quite a different combo. Great looks, Christine.
Hi Christine! Will you use this palette a lot? May I ask what your top 5 palettes are? It is so pretty! Love your honest reviews!
Hi Smita,
No, I won’t, since I don’t use anything a lot as I am testing new products constantly (and I’m always behind)! All of my favorites are listed under “Favorites” in the navigation 🙂
It’s a great palette that has generally rated well with a good mix of shades. Ebb and Hooked are my favourites.
Your lipstick is so beautiful! Could you please tell me the brand and shade?
Hi Vanessa!
Underneath the full face photos, there’s a link “Look Details” – https://www.temptalia.com/look/a-green-gold-plum-look-featuring-colourpop-good-sport/
Well Sista was what talked to me, so no go on this palette. The other colors are too dupable.
I’m wishing Trophies and Sista were better, of course, but the beautiful greens help make up for it. Flow even looks like it has a slight olive tinge to it, which I like. Overall, I’m really liking how this looks.
I really like this palette! The colors are very appealing, and while I’m not normally a fan of animal print, the package appeals to me as well. I have dupes of all these colors — which kind of breaks my heart — so I won’t be getting this, but it’s a solid release.
