Fenty Beauty How Many Carats?! Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil Review & Swatches
How Many Carats
Fenty Beauty How Many Carats Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil ($38.00 for 0.28 oz.) contains pale silver shimmer and larger sparkle. It’s exactly as described by the brand–“a glittering veil”–that adds moderate sparkle wherever one applies it. The base was translucent, so it layered well with various blushes while adding very shiny, glittery goodness. It had a smooth, slightly spongy texture–like a cream-powder hybrid that was a little more cream-like than powder-like by touch–that adhered evenly and blended out for an even layer of sparkle/glitter.
I did find that it could emphasize my skin’s natural texture slightly when I applied more than a sheer to semi-sheer layer of it, though it caught light beautifully in person that I barely noticed the emphasis from a normal distance. This glitter-happy highlighter adhered well to bare skin and didn’t dust away immediately; there was slight migration over time but most of it stuck around (ha, ha) for a solid eight hours.

I just bought the veil this morning at the Sephora Rouge event. I was so torn between the Milk glitter stick, Too Faced diamond-shaped highlighter, and the Fenty. I like keeping my options open for highlighters, as I usually go for more golden ones. It looks so pretty on you, especially. I am glad that I got it.
Hope you enjoy yours, Sabrina! 🙂
I have the milk glitter stick and this highlighter. Milk techno is gritty and you can feel it on. It’s weird tbh. I love milk and their highlighters but that one is a complete Miss for me. Diamond bomb is more refined in texture. You don’t feel the glitter and it looks so much prettier.
The Milk Glitter Stick has multicolored sparkles (think opal-like pastel flashes of color), and has a scent. I believe the Fenty one is colorless/silvery.
This is just so surprisingly pretty applied! Not sure if I will buy it yet or not. Not because I don’t love it, either. Just concerned about it emphasizing texture in my skin. I need to try it on first.
It is a very fun shade!
I felt that this product was kind of gimmicky; how does this compare to colourpop’s super shock highlighters?
The effect is pretty different since this is glittery with a clear base, and it is much less emollient.
I’m surprised by how subtle it looks on you. It almost makes me wish I bought it when I was out today. I swatched it on the back of my hand and it was gorgeous and they did not lie about insane sparkle, but I just couldn’t justify something so glittery that I didn’t think would get a lot of play when I already have so many other highlighters. If only it came in a mini size like some of the Becca highlighters, I would have for sure gotten it.
I wouldn’t say it’s subtle, but it doesn’t add color, just lots of sparkle 🙂
It seems pretty, but I can see it look grey on my pale skin tone. ?
I am curious how it would look!
Saw this in store last week. It’s not too grey but still looks weird on me. lol
Nope, glitter is not my thing!
Pass.
I do like the look of this. I could definitely see myself picking this up. There are times when a glittery finish is absolutely necessary and this way I don’t always have to rely on Trophy Wife.
What’s cool about this one is that the lack of base means it layers over anything and everything easily!
Have you tried putting it on the eye?
They say “for face and body,” which usually indicates it’s not eye-safe based on what I’ve seen brands say over the years! My eyes have enough problems, so I’m not comfortable using any glitter-based product that doesn’t say it’s safe for eye usage personally!
Rihanna used it in her eyes on tutorial tuseday. FYI
Unless the brand actually states it with the product description, it might not be truly eye safe (like they can’t legally say it can be used on eyes) – like certain dyes give us Pressed Pigments instead of Eyeshadow, though with anything more sparkly/glittery, I’d be much more hesitant to take chances on myself – sorry, I’m just not comfortable with that since these are my actual eyes 🙂 I feel like we routinely see these products that aren’t eye safe (at least in the US) used on the eyes in promos, so I’m assuming they can get away with that but can’t actually verbally state it…
This looks and sounds very much like it has the same formula the Stila Heaven’s Hue highlighters. Would you say so? I’m wondering if it has much the same effect as the shade Opulence from that line.
Similar texture but different finish/effect from the ones I’ve tried.
Check out Stila’s Heaven’s Dew All Over Glimmer. It’s a new one that’s just a clear base with glitter. Swatched them side by side and they’re pretty much the same thing.
