Interstellar (GPV2 #25)

Viseart Interstellar (Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #25) Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a bright pop of cooler pink with blue-to-violet shifting pearl and shimmer. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer with a soft, lightly dusty consistency that was blendable and had minimal fallout. It wore well for nine hours on me before fading slightly.

Formula Overview

-

The eyeshadow formula is supposed to be "pigment[ed]" with "smooth and even application" that is "long-lasting." The matte shades are typically semi-opaque to opaque but buildable with soft, velvety textures that can sometimes be a little powdery or slightly firm, depending on the shade. I find that the mattes are often best suited to someone who likes control over pigmentation and may prefer to build up color; they regularly perform better in practice than just swatched on the arm as well.

The shimmer shades range from satin to metallic, and the more metallic shades tend to feel creamier to the touch, while the satin ones have a fine pearl to them that looks almost melted on the lid once blended out. Both the mattes and shimmers are blendable and easy to work with. Most of Viseart's eyeshadows wear between seven and nine hours on me.

Poseidon (GPV2 #9)

Viseart Poseidon (Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #9) Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.07 oz.) has a blackened blue-teal base with larger blue glitter. It had semi-sheer coverage in a single layer, and the texture was more loosely-pressed and had a tendency to sheer out and have fallout during application. I would recommend using this with a dampened brush or a tacky base/adhesive base to help improve pigmentation and application while also minimizing fallout. This shade is designed to have “medium to full coverage,” so some of the sheerness was expected. The underlying color wore well for eight hours but had fallout over time.

Clover (Bright Editorial #3)

Viseart Clover (Bright Editorial #3) Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a brighter, grass green with a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation, and it went on better in practice than swatched alone, though it still took a bit of extra effort to soften the edges as the texture was on the drier side (and my lids are a little drier than normal so that amplifies the problem). The color lasted well for eight and a half hours on me before I noticed fading.

Penombre (Cobalt Blue)

Viseart Cobalt Blue (Grande Pro (Vol. 1) #24) Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a rich, deep blue with cool undertones and a matte finish. It had rich pigmentation with a slightly drier, almost grainy consistency, but it ended up applying rather evenly and blending out without too much difficulty along the edges. There was barely-there pearl scattered through it that helped it blend out but didn’t change its finish. It stayed on well for nine hours on me before it started to fade noticeably.

Lime (Bright Editorial #2)

Viseart Lime (Bright Editorial #2) Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a bright chartreuse with warm, yellow undertones and a matte finish. It had good color payoff with a softer consistency that had a little bit of powderiness in the pan, but it applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even lay down of color. It wore nicely for eight and a half hours on me before I noticed slight fading.

Buillion (GPV2 #12)

Viseart Buillion (Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #12) Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a medium-dark gold with strong, warm undertones and a sparkling sheen. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, and I did find it went on with more coverage in practice than swatched on my arm–and this is something that I experience with Viseart’s formula from time to time. The texture was soft, smooth, and blendable without being too firmly nor too loosely pressed in the pan. This shade stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours on me before I noticed any fading.

Wow, these are lovely, especially Interstellar, Clover and Cobalt Blue. I have the first one duped in my
Kaleidoscope Dream Palette, but I need, need, need that blue! And at least that’s something I can get here in Europe without expensive shipping (looking at you, Sydney Grace).

I also wanted to tell you that you’re the only person whom I trust so much as to buy anything based solely on swatches and review, I actually bought the aforementioned palette online and I’ve been really enjoying it so far. Don’t let anyone ruin your day.

M Avatar

Are these eye-safe? I’m seeing Red 22, Red 27, etc. in the ingredients list. (I realize the EU has approved all of these for eye use but in the US eyes are only Red 40 , Yellow 5 , Blue 1.)

Christine Avatar

The Editorial Brights palette is not intended for eyes if I recall correctly, but the ingredient list is a blanket list by finish, so I don’t know which ones may contain those… ingredient list is pulled from Muse Beauty (only seller of the singles).

Helene Avatar

Your look with these eye shadows! So beautiful!
I really like the dark blue, but I don’t think I’d use it. I’d love to have a dress in that colour, though. And the chartreuse! I can only do shimmery shades when it comes to the chartreuse-lime colours, same for yellows. (Of course I can use the mentioned colours in any formulation, I just don’t like how they make me look a bit ill. With a shimmery formula the shimmers helps and I don’t look quite as bad.)
