Urban Decay x Game of Thrones 24/7 Eyeliners Reviews & Swatches
Dragon Smoke
Urban Decay Dragon Smoke 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Eyeliner) ($21.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a deep black, almost blackened purple, with multi-colored pearl. It appeared mostly blue, violet, and purple in sparkle, but there seemed to be a bit of gold and silver at times. It had semi-opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which was buildable to full opacity with two layers. The texture was smooth, velvety, and lightly creamy, which helped it glide across my lash line without dragging and felt comfortable even on y waterline. I didn’t even notice the sparkles in it as I used the product. The color stayed on well for nine hours before thinning slightly.

The formula is supposed to go on "smoothly, stay soft and super-creamy for blending" before it "dries to a long-lasting finish that won't budge" with "intense" coverage. I'm a long-time fan and user of the formula--almost a decade now--and they're still a go-to. I keep a handful of formulas at my fingertips, and I have all of the shades from this range in a cup within reach.
It isn't the longest-wearing formula I've come across, but I find that it balances longevity with creaminess in application and ease of removal at the end. They also wear away "kindly," so while the line might get thinner, it doesn't drag or bleed toward my under eye area. The formula has solid, long-wear at eight to 10 hours before fading, thinning, or having a bit of migration to the outer corner. The less shimmery shades tend to have the most visible movement, whereas the more shimmery shades tend to fade or thin.
The pigmentation varies a lot from shade to shade with more matte shades often having the most coverage in a single layer, followed by more metallic finishes. The more glittery the finish, the weaker the coverage and application were. Many of the shades in the range are buildable and apply with near-to or opaque coverage when applied in short, overlapping strokes. The majority are very comfortable to apply on the lower lash line or waterline.
They have a creamy, glide-on consistency as promised, and they can be smudged or blended out, so they are particularly useful for someone who likes a more diffused look for their eyeliner.
As someone who has had a lot of these eyeliners over time, I can attest to the fact that they do not dry out readily. Some of the shades I have that I don't use (because they're THAT old) are still creamy and glide-on when swatched.

Winterfell Snow
Urban Decay Winterfell Snow 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Eyeliner) ($21.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a bright, iridescent white with cool undertones and shimmer that shifted from icy blue to subtle, cooler violet. It was sparkling and metallic with a high-shine finish, which masked its semi-opaque coverage and slightly patchy application. If used as an eyeliner, I thought it was very brightening, and the patchiness wasn’t noticeable to my eye at all. The pencil had a smooth, velvety texture that glided on easily but didn’t feel too wet and was easy to work with. It wore nicely for nine hours before fading a bit on me.

Lannister Gold
Urban Decay Lannister Gold 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Eyeliner) ($21.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a bright, pale gold with subtle, warm undertones and a foil-like finish. It was richly pigmented and had a smooth, very creamy texture–almost a little too creamy, as I felt like it had a tendency to move around a little more than ideal, especially on my waterline. It was smoother and more even on my lower lash line. This shade lasted nicely for nine hours on me before fading a bit.

The Night King
Urban Decay The Night King 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Eyeliner) ($21.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a deep, blue-teal with cool undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. The pigmentation was intense with full opacity delivered in one fluid stroke. The pencil had a creamy texture that glided easily across my skin without tugging, but it didn’t feel too wet or emollient, so didn’t migrate or move around as it set. The color wore well for almost 10 hours on me before starting to thin/fade.

I want Winterfell Snow — it looks like it would be a lot of fun to layer it over other colors, or just use it to brighten my inner corner.
I’m torn on Dragon Smoke. It’s pretty, but will it really be noticeably different from plain black from any distance?
If you wear it as a thin line, it’s going to appear as a sparkly black, but if you wear it as an average to thick line, then it almost looks plum/purple (depending on the light and what you use around it).
Do you think you could use Winterfell Snow in the waterline for brightening?
Sort of – it’s on the patchy side, so it wouldn’t be my first choice there!
Thank you for the tip! I ended up buying the Dragon Smoke…I think it’s going to be so pretty with the Viseart Liasion palette. And I nabbed the Dani lip and Arya brush. Thanks for all the great tips and reviews! I was originally interested in the stain until it was drying on you. So grateful for your help!
Okay – Lannister Gold WILL be mine! Such a gorgeous and unique shade (its uniqueness is something I commented on earlier). If I get nothing else, I will get this, though The Night King and Dragon Smoke are very “want-able” also, though I think I probably have multiple dupes for each (need to take a closer look, though).
I knew you would love Lannister Gold! Such a glorious shade and you probably do have dupes for the others. I love it too.
I checked and I do, indeed, have dupes for the other 2 shades I like. I’m not a huge fan of UD’s 24/7 liners (I know that must sound like sacrilege to some folks but I find they have a real tendency to smudge on me) so as it stands now, I’ll probably just get the gold one. Are you planning to get any of these, Genevieve?
Lannister Gold is the one I love most, too 🙂
If I get anything from the got collection I might get one of the eyeliners…they are all pretty not sure which i would get though…like the gold one, white or the dark blue…I like their eyeliners they work good for me..I used to have a few and miss them..
are these not out yet ? I cannot find them at nordstrom or ulta
April 14th on UD, April 29th at retailers
I’m not a GoT follower but Lannister Gold looks like it might be a decent replacement for my beloved Anastasia Liquid Gold Metallic Luster Liner. I think it’s my favourite eyeliner ever and, of course, it was discontinued right after I found out about it. I have to stop myself from using it more often because I think I’m going to cry when I finish it.
Interestingly, it is also extremely creamy- more so than other liners, even shimmery ones.
That’s one of my favorite eyeliners ever too!!!! I’m so glad I grabbed one before they DC’ed it but I cannot understand WHY they did, it’s the most gorgeous and unique gold liner ever made. I’m with you, in mourning over the fact that it’s gone.
I really like dragon smoke. I think it would be fun on a really thick graphic wing. Is this collection only online at UD?
No, it’ll be available in-stores as well but not until May.
Wow. These are pretty! I wasn’t interested in them but now that I see the swatches, I want all but Dragon Smoke. Realistically speaking, I’ll probably only get wear out of The Night King and Lannister Gold though. I love gold and blue eyeliner.
Lannister Gold is a stunning, stunning shade – quite unique since 5AM is hard to get. I also love the Night King shade too. These may end up being the heroes of the collection.
WELL, I wasn’t interested in this collection and now I suddenly want three of the eyeliners LOL!!!
definitely want the white eyeliner! it’s so pretty and nice inner corner highlight.
So these were the things I thought I wouldn’t be getting, but now that’s all changed. Thanks Christine ? haha, just joking…who am I kidding, I’ll prob end up with the whole damn vault.
I really love the UD 24/7 formula…so everytime they put out some new LE shades I think…YES! New colors to choose from! But then the colors drop and they seem so similar to the colors UD already has except with a very slight shade variation.
I’d like to see some very different colors from UD in this formula. I don’t know what, but another gold or black is not going to do it for me.
Dragon Smoke is pretty. But idk if the shimmer is going to show really to be worth it.
Oooh, Lannister Gold is fabulous! I’m definitely getting that one. The Night King is very tempting, too. The entire GOT collection is very tempting, actually!
How would you go about layering Winterfell Snow over another eyeliner? I’ve dabbed on gel eyeliners over top of a pencil eyeliner before using a flat, angled eyeliner brush, but I’ve never tried it with two pencils. Is there a certain method that helps keep it from ending up a smudgy mess?
I’d more likely use it with a pencil brush myself, but I’d go with a brush since Winterfell Snow is so light!
This is the most interesting part of this set, the only parts that remotely tempt me. The Night King looks gorgeous, as does Dragon Smoke. At least the quality is top notch.
Out of the whole collection the liners are what appeal to me the most and if they played nice with my water line I’d get them all.
This is the first time I have been excited about an eyeliner pencil since the Marc Jacobs line came out. I am going to be at my local Ulta Sunday morning when they open to get that Dragon Smoke.
Christine,
I’m super excited about this collection. I have some of these pencils from UD , they smeared. I noticed you said once they set you didn’t have that problem. Did you just wait a few minutes? Any tip to help set? I really want at least one of these and any tip would be helpful. I love the fenty eye / lip crayons ( because of the amazing blue colored one) . The only way I can get that to set is with my blow dryer. It’s a hassle but it doesn’t move after that. ( I sharpen them too to get a thinner thin ! )
I don’t do anything to set – it just dries down on me – I wouldn’t say it takes long but they’re waxier so they are still smudgeable after initial application for a couple of minutes.
I picked up both Lannister Gold and The Night King yesterday and both are gorgeous (though I’ve not used the latter yet, only swatched it). Bummer is that I gouged Lannister Gold taking the lid off for the first time (it was REALLY shoved on tightly) and the whole tip came off! 🙁 But it is SO stunning!
I have been there, Mariella, I have been there.
I just did it on a Chanel eyeliner yesterday, and you know how small those are… it was probably like $2 worth of eyeliner, LOL!
