Urban Decay Sheer Beso & Sheer Bittersweet Sheer Revolution Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Urban Decay Sheer Beso Sheer Revolution Lipstick
Urban Decay Sheer Beso Sheer Revolution Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “sheer mauve-pink.” It’s a muted, medium-dark plum with subtle, warm undertones and a soft sheen. It had semi-sheer color coverage that applied fairly evenly over lips and wore for four and a half hours. The formula was lightly hydrating and comfortable to wear. I personally love these types of colors, and one that wears decently but still has that translucency made this one a favorite for me (personally, of course). Urban Decay Sheer Rapture (DC, $18.00) is darker (95% similar). Tom Ford Beauty La Piscine (LE, $36.00) is darker (90% similar). Chanel Noir Moderne (128) (P, $37.00) is darker (90% similar). Chanel Irresistible (62) (DC, $34.00) is brighter (85% similar). MAC Nippon (P, $19.00) is warmer (90% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Collin (P, $36.00) is darker, more pigmented, warmer (90% similar). Buxom Dolly (DC, $21.00) is warmer (85% similar). Urban Decay Rush (DC, $22.00) is more pigmented, cooler (90% similar). Buxom Centerfold (DC, $21.00) is lighter (90% similar). Chanel Suzanne (438) (P, $37.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). Clinique Black Honey (PiP, $15.00) is darker (85% similar). Chanel Etourdie (98) (P, $37.00) is warmer (85% similar). MAC Mystical (LE, $19.00) is lighter, brighter, warmer (80% similar). Chanel Roussy (426) (P, $37.00) is lighter, brighter (80% similar). Tarte Berry (P, $19.00) is warmer (80% similar). Urban Decay Sheer Bittersweet Sheer Revolution Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “sheer, bright red-purple.” It’s a lightly brightened, medium fuchsia magenta with cool undertones and a luminous sheen. It had semi-sheer color coverage with a lightly creamy consistency that “melts” and applies without tugging on the lips. The color could apply a bit more evenly, though the brightness of the shade distracts from some of the unevenness in application. It wore for four hours on me, and it was lightly moisturizing over time. Christian Louboutin Beaute Ronron (P, $90.00) is darker, more pigmented (90% similar). MAC Bold Spring (P, $25.00) is lighter, brighter (90% similar). MAC Outrageously Fun (LE, $19.00) is lighter, more pigmented (90% similar). YSL Mauve Nihiliste (58) (P, $38.00) is warmer, less glossy (90% similar). ColourPop Pasties (LE, $7.00) is darker, more pigmented (85% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Happy Ending (116) (DC, $30.00) is lighter, brighter, more pigmented (85% similar). MAC Boutique Pink (LE, $25.00) is lighter, brighter (85% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Jack (P, $36.00) is darker, brighter, more pigmented (90% similar). MAC Lust Extract (LE, $17.00) is lighter, brighter (85% similar). Maybelline Orchid Ecstasy (730) (P, $7.49) is darker, brighter (80% similar). Givenchy Rose Perfecto (209) (P, $36.00) is lighter, brighter (80% similar). Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.09 oz.) is a range of ten shades that are sheerer, but still more pigmented than not, compared to the original Revolution formula. They seem to melt in a way that tends to self-level the color on lips, so they don’t look quite as uneven over time. The upside is that they wore a little longer than average when compared to other similarly-textured formulas.

Sheer Bittersweet is nice but I can get the same effect with a tinted lip balm.
You are lucky 🙂
Thats how I feel about all sheer lipsticks really. Nothing inherently wrong with them, I’ll just use my tinted Burt’s Bees though.
Beso is pretty, will go well with bold eye looks. I LOVE UD Bittersweet Blush and Gloss, but the Matte lipstick and this Sheer version is so disappointing –they look more pink then purple to me.
Oh, bummed to hear you didn’t like the matte lipstick either!
Ooh. “Self-even on the lips,” you say? Helloooo, Beso. ?
😀
ooo Sheer Beso is pretty on you!
Thanks a lot, Vanaily!
Sheer Beso looks lovely but I don’t see it listed in Sephora anywhere, am I missing it somehow? 🙁
UD exclusive!
What a shame, one day hopefully UD will figure out shipping to Canada (right now they just suggest signing up for a forwarding service boo!), I guess I’m stuck going without 🙁 FWP
Because Rush (have tried on, but I don’t own yet) looks absolutely fab on me, I must have Sheer Beso instead!!! I just love it! Any word on whether this is online only or to be released in stores?
I think it may be at UD’s boutique, but I don’t think it is at counters.
Thanks Christine, yeah, I just now checked UD’s page, and it calls these shades “Exclusives”. It is there with South & Aura eyeshadows, and Protest &Strip…so looks like I will have to order it. Worth it though!
These colors really remind me of the new Colour Pop sheer Lippie Stix. They look so nice on your lips!
Oh, nice!
Jennifer, I was thinking the same thing. I’m loving the new CP sheer lippies. And as gorgeous as these by UD are, I can’t help but wonder if they’re enough better to justify the price difference (said the beauty cheapskate)
Yes, I’ll be checking these out .. I’ve really been loving sheer lipsticks as of late .. guess it’s a summer love 🙂
Monica.
Beso is a fave!
I am loving both of these! I love the moisturizing and glossy look. I love matte too. But, if I’m going glossy- if it’s moisturizing-extra Brownie points! For myself, I like a good mix of both in rotation. That way I don’t discover my lips mangled from mattes or ultra-mattes all of a sudden!
They feel nice on! 🙂
Beso is beautiful. Bittersweet looks even more pink sheer, but it’s very pretty. I love a pink lip.
I wish Bittersweet was just a bit less fuchsia!
Yes. I wish the lip versions of Bittersweet had been closer to the blush shade.
Beso looks like it would be a great every day color. I just might have to check it out!
It would be!
oooooh, those are pretty! I like the colors and the finish. The colors look really great on you, too. They look like MLBB colors. I’m going to check these out!
They are! I like that they’re luminous – not quite glossy but not too low-sheen that it’ll wear off quickly.
Beso is SUCH a nice MLBB shade!!!!
Agreed! Haha, I’m going to wear the heck out of that one for sure!
Sheer Bittersweet looks really cute on you! I like that it isn’t too sheer. Seems like it’ll still work well for pigmented lips
Thanks, Fancie!
This is the texture and shine of lipstick that I. I love. Semi-transparent.. I have a few of these by UD and no we know what I’m looking for. So happy and love the colors and feel of the lipsticks.
Thank you for the words.. I didn’t know what to call.them before..
Happy to help, Susan!
I just ordered Beso and i’m really bummed-it seems really close in color to Sheer Rapture, which I also own. I almost wonder if I got a mismarked
tube or something. I bought it specifically because it looked like it might be close in color to Rush, which I also own – I just wanted something a bit more sheer. I ordered Strip, too – which I seriously love – that’s a discussion for another time. It looks awesome on you, Christine – like what I was hoping for.
Aww 🙁 Sorry to hear that Beso isn’t working out for you, Dawn! I’m glad at least Strip is!
Both right up my alley. Theyre gorgeous! I bought ladyflower ( sheer) a few weeks ago and dont think its all that sheer! But these are sooo purday too. Thanks for the swatches:)
UD is funny – they are definitely not that sheer, lol!
Both very pretty, easy to wear colours.
Agreed!
Both of those are pretty. Especially Beso.
Beso is a fave!
