Roach

Urban Decay Roach Vice Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a deep bronze with warm undertones and fine gold, pink, and bronze pearl. It had good color coverage, though it was not quite opaque. I felt like this version had a bit less shimmer compared to the limited edition version I reviewed previously. The consistency was lightly creamy, comfortable to wear and to apply, and sat fairly well on my lips, though there was a bit of color that sank into my deeper lip lines over time. It wore for just over four and a half hours on me but was moisturizing while worn.

Formula Overview

$18.00/0.11 oz. - $163.64 Per Ounce

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.11 oz.) is available in six finishes, which are primarily distinguished by level of sheen, shimmer content, and coverage. I didn't notice any scent or taste. Mega Mattes are the thinnest and have the most “cling” as they are drier and more matte (but most are semi-matte and not a totally flat matte) and can be drying, though they are longer-wearing.

Comfort Mattes are creamier, a little denser, with richer color payoff on average (they are the most pigmented out of the finishes), and have a satin finish that is fairly comfortable to wear, usually lightly hydrating, and longer-wearing.

Creams are usually softer and creamier, though not too soft (they don’t mush or break from the base easily), with some being tackier and stiffer in the tube until they warm up against the lips; they have good color payoff, are hydrating, and are comfortable to wear but have more typical wear (four to six hours–six hours for deeper/richer shades like a red).

Sheers and Sheer Shimmers have a more balm-like consistency that feels a little thinner but is wetter/more emollient than Mega Mattes, so ultimately, they feel quite different applied; they have sheerer coverage, though more semi-sheer to semi-opaque than very sheer, and have the shortest wear time at two to fours with light hydration.

Metallized is the most shimmery of the finishes, though some of the other finishes have shades that are actually as shimmery (to me), but the Metallized formula has a thinner, more emollient base that isn’t as dense or as cream-like as the Creams; they feel more like the Sheers but a bit heavier and more pigmented (but seem to run semi-opaque to opaque, not always fully opaque) with average wear (four to five hours), light hydration.

Accident

Urban Decay Accident Vice Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark plum with warm undertones and lots of greenish-gold pearl. It had nearly opaque pigmentation, and it applied evenly and smoothly on my lips, which made it one of the better Metallized shades that I’ve tried. The texture was lightweight with moderate slip, but there was a touch of tackiness that helped keep it in place over time. On me, the color wore well for five hours and was hydrating over time.

Love Drunk

Urban Decay Love Drunk Vice Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a deep red with cool, pink undertones and a satin sheen. It is supposed to have a “Comfort Matte” finish, but it was described as having “tonal shimmer,” which there was. The shimmer was incredibly fine, so it gave a subtle sheen rather than a more overt shimmery finish. The pigmentation was fantastic–totally opaque in one stroke–and drenched the lips with even, smooth coverage. The texture was smooth, velvety, and easy to apply as it never tugged but still adhered well to the lips. The lipstick was still going strong after six hours of wear and was neither drying nor hydrating on me.

Thank you for the review of these three! So glad they are together because they are the three I was thinking about getting. You helped seal the deal! Love Drunk is beautiful; that type of old school red that I have always loved!

Love Accident!

(that’s actually quite funny to type out…)

I don’t wear a lot of brown tones but I reckon that has enough plummy gold in it for me to pull off…

Accident and Love Drunk are beautiful. Love that gold pearl in Accident.

Urban Decay has done a nice job with all these new shades so far

I was looking at both Accident and Love Drunk at Sephora this weekend! I need more lipstick like I need a hole in my head, but they both swatched so nicely and now you rated them highly… *sigh* I may cave!

Love at first sight for Accident! I ought not be surprised, but I am; I have 4 (FOUR😱) dupes. Not that I ever saw them being dupes of each other. TF Derek, MAC I Get So OCC, MAC Sequin and UD Vice Amulet (tube).

And then there’s the one that just got my interest: Love Drunk! I’m thinking that I do not have anything quite like it, or at least I hope not.

Glad Roach is permanent now! Oh my, Accident is so pretty -love the mix of red, brown, and gold shimmer! I have Snowdon but it doesn’t look like that on me, might have to consider

Love Drunk is beautiful. I think that one is in my future. I am trying to purchase fewer lipsticks as I have run out of storage space and promised myself that if I wanted to bring a new one in I had to send one out but I already feel like I have narrowed down as much as I want to but….you can always buy another lipstick spinner, right?

I will try Love Drunk in store this weekend. It’s a gorgeous shade on Christine and hopefully il will not look too dark on me as I’m fair and I have low pigment lips.

These are all so pretty! I’m glad they wore well! Can’t wait to check these out in store!
Accident looks gorgeous on you Christine!

“Accident” reminds me of a darker, pinker version of Burberry Rosewood, which is one of the only brown-toned lipsticks I can wear. I’m not usually big fan of shimmer lipsticks, but I may have to check it out because it is a very pretty color.
