Here are nine different color combinations using the new Urban Decay Naked Honey Eyeshadow Palette ($44.00). You can check out the original review here, and you can also see looks done with it here.

About This Series

Each look idea is centered around a “quad” of four shades with the expectation that one might bring in the appropriate brow bone or additional transitional shade based on skin tone. I know that I tend to use more like five or six shades in a typical look, but I think that four is a happy medium to give a good idea of the “core” color scheme of a look while giving you the ability to lighten/darken as desired. I have listed the colors in this order: inner lid, middle of lid, outer lid/crease, and crease/above crease.

You might see combinations that seem slightly repeated but placement will vary (e.g. a halo placement where the lightest and more shimmery shade is placed on the center) as placement can also create a different effect/look! You might also want to consider incorporating your favorite matte/shimmer shades (as applicable) to increase the versatility of certain palettes. Consider these ideas a jumping off point!

Out of all 4 different UD Naked palettes I have, this one is my absolute favorite. I’ve probably done at least half of the variations you’ve shown above, which says something about how well loved it is already! These shades make my eyes POP. They appear more turquoise blue and much brighter than usual. Most of the time, they’re just a nondescript, hard to describe color. Like a mix of sage green, dusky teal and some pale honey gold flecking around the pupils. In other words: dull.
I thank you for this compilation because of the looks I haven’t explored yet that are shown above!

Nancy, I agree these would be gorgeous shades for someone with your eye color. It must look superb! I also like that this palette has kind of a retro feel with the shades. I’m tempted but wondering if these shades would compliment my reddish/brown eyes.

I love this series and especially how your sample pictures have one lighter look and one smokier look. I wasn’t interest in the relaunched Naked palettes, and definitely don’t need any more golds, but gosh, this list is making a want to dive into all the honey stuff now!

Fabulous combinations here Christine, I really like the alternative uses of the shimmer and matte shades. It does make me look at the palette again to see if it would work for me.

You got a nice variety of looks, Christine. Very pretty! I just ordered this palette. I found yellowish shades bring out the yellows in my eyes (the “green” part of the iris is actually yellow and blue-gray, but it looks olive at normal viewing distance). I rather like the more golden-looking irises.

Thanks for the ideas!

Turns out I really love this palette. Personally I would’ve like to see one of the similar brown mattes be a matte, dusty army green as those are so flattering with yellows and oranges, but it might have looked odd in the palette.

In real life on my eyes Amber has a slight reddish/orange/copper kind of shimmer to it that’s quite lovely.
