Fenty Beauty Holo at Me All-Over Diamond Veil Review & Swatches
Holo at Me
Fenty Beauty Holo at Me Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil ($38.00 for 0.28 oz.) has a nearly-translucent base with flecks of silver and pink sparkle that shifted from warmer peachy-pink to cooler violet. It had a mix of smaller shimmer and larger sparkle, so it was a more glittery highlight, though I felt like the particle size was still finer than full-on glitter.
The texture was incredibly dense and firm, which made it harder to pick up product without really jabbing my brush into the surface–even when I used a denser, more flat-edged brush–and I felt like a lot of the sparkle got trapped in my brush or disappeared by the time I applied and blended it out on my skin. The effect was far subtler than I would have guessed from initial swatches. It felt a lot less cream-powder like compared to the original Diamond Bomb; I would have had said this was a full powder-based formula.
I think it can be built up from semi-sheer coverage and intensified for a more sparkly effect, and on my complexion, it definitely paired better with a stronger cheek color as on its own, it seemed to get lost. The product is marketed as a “veil” of sparkle, so the translucent base was as anticipated but the actual amount of sparkle that translated seemed under. It wore well for seven and a half hours but had some sparkles that had migrated throughout the day.

Oh man, this really underperformed. So disappointing because I was going to buy it based off the initial swatches, but it doesn’t live up to those at all. ?
I thought I was the only one underwhelmed by this. I’m a hoe for pinky highlighters: Dior Holo Gold, Pat McGrath Nude Skin Fetish 003, Bobbi Brown Sunrise Gold, and etc. Found this took too much work to build up (used three different brushes and had the best result with the Sephora #38 crease brush). Sparkles all over the face within half an hour. Love Fenty but this did not live up to the hype, there are better pink holo highlighters out there.
Gosh, this is pretty poor and a lot of ‘work’ to get it right. I can’t see that happening on a work morning.
I wasn’t going to buy this because I was so disappointed in the original. The original I have to put on 5 layers to get even close to what I want and it fades so quickly through the day. No brush seems like the right one for applying.
I’m sad this version’s performance was lacking as well. I love every Fenty product that I have tried besides this and the glitter pompom.
For $38 you better see me from space.
This is awful. Just AWFUL.
Hey Christine,
Did you try this with your fingers? It seems to be raved about in reviews when users used their hands (I actually didn’t expect the mention of the brushes oops).
If you haven’t or have – does the rating change at all?
The brand says to use with a brush (their kabuki brush – so a flatter, denser brush), so the rating wouldn’t change even if fingertip application improved it. Because of the very firmer formula, it doesn’t transfer well off the fingertip / is hard to blend without picking up product, so you might end up with more sparkle, but it won’t blend as well (doesn’t really have the creaminess of the original). Your best bet is likely to use a dampened brush or even an eyeshadow brush to pat onto the highest points and using another highlighter to give more “coverage” and uniformity.
This makes me sad. I was so excited when they announced this because I truly did enjoy the first one, I was hoping this would be as glittery as that one
I found that using this with a damp beauty blender works the best! I got maximum payoff when I did that. Anything else I used was a waste of time lol! Although I made it work, I regret buying it and that’s sad cause I LOVE FentyBeauty. Hope this helps anyone like me who bought it before seeing a review.
