Too Faced Melted Strawberry Melted Liquified Long-wear Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is described as a “blood orange.” It’s a bright, medium red with neutral-to-cool undertones and a glossy finish. (By the by, am I the only one amused by the double-fruit description, from strawberry to blood orange!) Tom Ford Beauty Luciano (LE, $32.00) is less glossy, darker. Guerlain Rouge Parade (820) (LE, $51.00) is darker. Estee Lauder Vengeful Red (P, $30.00) is darker. Bite Beauty Pomegranate (P, $24.00) is warmer. Anna Sui Minnie Mouse (01) (LE) is similar. Urban Decay 69 (P, $22.00) is similar. Maybelline On Fire Red (P, $7.49) is cooler-toned. Guerlain Greta (P, $51.00) is darker. Guerlain Garconne (P, $51.00) is more muted, darker. Guerlain Gala (P, $51.00) is slightly warmer. Buxom Scoundrel (P, $21.00) is darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

It’s a show shopping red with its incredibly rich, opaque color coverage and high-shine finish. As we’ve come to expect from this formula, a little goes a long way. For really crisp lines, you’ll want to reach for a lip brush, but it is possible to apply directly from the tube with an even edge overall. The texture is lightweight without sliding around a lot, but it doesn’t dry down and feel clingy, so it’s more comfortable to wear than some other liquid lipstick formulas (this isn’t transfer-proof, though!). On me, the color wore on and on and on–I took it off after eight hours, even though the color was in good shape, and there was a stain left behind. I didn’t experience the color feathering or bleeding when I tried it, but I’m not prone to either. It was neither drying nor hydrating over time.

Gorgeous colour … you look stunning! I have been trying to decide which of the Melteds I should purchase first, and I think this is the one. Thank you!

I’ve been debating on this shade since they’ve released it, but now I know that it needs to be a part of my collection! I’m in love with the Melted formula and your review just sealed the deal for me. This shade looks lovely on you, Christine 🙂

That is a really gorgeous red, and it lasts forever and is comfortable to wear? Much better than the Anastasia version. Too Faced is knocking it out of the ballpark with their melted lippies. I have my eye on Velvet, hope you will be reviewing soon

Yeah the contradicting fruit description is pretty confusing! I really like this colour anyway, might have to invest, though the application method seems a little daunting for me.

This is one of my faves of the new shades released! So fresh and the perfect red for spring and I love that they stay without being matte! You look so beautiful!
Hey, I love your taste and we have similar coloring in skin and eyes and I am feeling a need for another Rouge G in my near future. So far I have: Gipsy, Geneva,Garrance,Garconne,& Grennade. What would be your next pick for a spring shade? I am trying to get one very couple weeks or so until I get them all. ..Love’em! Thank you for hooking me! 😀

Gracia is lovely for something more understated! This is probably the most spring-y shade that I’d highly recommend. I love shades like Gemma and Georgia, which are softer as well. Gemma has a really cool pearl/shimmer to it, Georgia is just a nice warmer pink.

Hmm.
I wonder if this would be too orange for NW15 brunette me.
For reference, MAC Lady Danger is too orange on me, but [discontinued] Powerhouse was not!
That’s the story of my life – trying to find reds that are warm/neutral enough to not go pink on me, but cool enough to not go orange!

I absolutely love the Melted line. I already have a few shades- Violet, Fuchsia, Berry, and Fig. They’ve come out with soo many more, including the new metallic ones, it’s so hard to pick just one that I want! 😀

This looks stunning on you, Christine, and is a kind of pinky-red that usually looks great on me, too! I went ought and bought Jelly Donut after you reviewed it the other day, and now I want this one, too!

You rock that shade!!! Absolutely stunning 🙂 I wish so bad I could pull off brights…although I’m marginally less frightening in a strawberry shade than anything that leans orange. Blood orange or otherwise lol I’ll probably pick up chihuahua and I love melted fig.

I’m trying to stay on my “no buy”…. ahhh… these melted lipsticks are calling my name!
This question will either break or seal the deal: Do any of these have any fragrances? I’m really sensitive to smell 🙁 Thx Christine!

I loved a sample of UD 69 except it didn’t last long on me. I tend to have a problem with any lipstick lasting though. I’ve recently tried some liquids and they last better. Since I love the color, I think I will have to try this. A perfect 10!!

I tried this when we updated the Too Faced section at my store. I got so many compliments; this shade was my first Melted lipstick and I love them. I picked up Villain too!

Jae Avatar

This looks stunning on you! I typically don’t wear reds but tried this on in senhora and loved it so much, I had to get it and walked out wearing it. Got so many compliments! I feel like this red would look beautiful on everyone!

If I didn’t already have dupes of this I’d be on it like a shot! I love the formula. It’s times like this that I have to go through my stash to see what I have that’s similar so that I can remind myself that I have no need for a particular lipstick. I find that it curbs the lemming! It really is gorgeous though. 🙂
