Tom Ford Rose Cashmere Shade and Illuminate Palette Review & Swatches
Rose Cashmere
Tom Ford Beauty Rose Cashmere Shade and Illuminate Face and Eye Palette ($155.00 for 0.49 oz.) includes four, shimmery eyeshadows with a yellow-gold highlighter and light, warmer brown sculpting shade. The eyeshadows were the more consistent performers in the palette, though the highlighter worked well other than being way more pigmented than marketed. The let-down was the shading/contouring shade, which was firmer and stiffer to work with and wasn’t as blendable as result.

Rose Cashmere Highlight
Rose Cashmere Highlight is a bright, light-medium yellowed gold with moderate, warm undertones and a luminous sheen. It had more semi-opaque coverage when applied in a single layer than “ultra-sheer” as described. One could certainly use a lighter hand to achieve sheerer coverage, though. The consistency was moderately dense, firm but not stiff (so not powdery but I didn’t struggle to pick up product) and applied easily to bare skin. This shade lasted nicely for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Rose Cashmere #1
LELimited Edition.
Rose Cashmere #1 is a light-medium peach with moderate, warm undertones and pink and gold pearl over a metallic finish. It had good color payoff applied wet as well as dry, though dampened application yielded full coverage that was a bit deeper in color and richer in sheen. The texture was smooth, dense but not overly firm to the touch, with a finely-milled powder that adhered well to bare skin. There were signs of fading after eight and a half hours of wear.

Rose Cashmere #2
Rose Cashmere #2 is a medium pinky-coral with subtle, gold and pink micro-shimmer that gave it a pearl finish. It had good coverage in one layer when applied dry, but it was lighter and not as true-to-pan in color. When applied with a dampened brush, it had rich coverage that was true-to-pan in color. The texture was soft, slightly drier than other shades in the palette but still had a denser, firmer texture that wasn’t powdery (but wasn’t difficult to pick up with a brush). It wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Rose Cashmere #3
Rose Cashmere #3 is a bright, light brown with moderate, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. The eyeshadow had excellent pigmentation that applied well dry as well as with a dampened brush. The consistency was silky, finely-milled, and smooth to the touch and felt almost cream-like–it seemed more yielding than the brand’s typical gel-powder formula. This shade lasted well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Rose Cashmere #4
Rose Cashmere #4 is a light, golden brown with moderate, warm undertones and a bright, metallic finish. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer with it applying a bit better with a dry brush over a dampened brush (which seemed to make it more emollient). The consistency was silky-smooth, yielding but not powdery with a denser, almost cream-like feel. It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before showing signs of fading.

Rose Cashmere Sculpt
Rose Cashmere Sculpt is a light-medium briwn with moderate, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had medium coverage with a firmer, slightly stiff texture; I felt like I had to use a heavier hand to work with this–beyond what I’d normally use for this type of gel-powder formula. The color was buildable, so if higher coverage was required, it could be achieved but the stiffness made it less blendable. It wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Meh. This one not only runs way too light for me, but it seems to me that e/s shades #3 and #4 are far too close to have both in the same palette.
No offense to Mr. Ford but this looks pretty boring. Nothing special and for TF price points there needs to be something more unique. Very easy pass for me.
The only shades I like in this palette are three and four, and with my UD Naked palettes I can dupe them both. I think the colour story is a bit weaker here, as all of these shades are so popular. Both the highlighter and bronzer spoil the palette.
Thank you for the review Christine.
