Tom Ford Havoc, Stinger, Trance Lip Sparks Reviews & Swatches
Havoc
Tom Ford Beauty Havoc Lip Spark ($55.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a deep red with warm undertones and flecks of copper and gold sparkle strewn throughout. It had medium to semi-opaque pigmentation (at best) with a very emollient, lightly slippery consistency that made it difficult to apply the color evenly. The product settled into my lip lines and was particularly splotch along the inner areas of my lips. It wore well for four and a half hours and was hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$56.00/0.1 oz. - $560.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to "look" like "loose glitter on lips" with "uniform payoff" and "multidimensional color" paired with an "emollient" feel. The pigmentation varied from medium to semi-opaque that adhered evenly and fairly smoothly to my lips. The consistency varied from emollient without any grit/texture from the glittery bits to slightly noticeable during application but didn't feel gritty or rough to me while worn (for any of the shades).
The texture had slip but was lightweight and on the thinner side, so it did not feel slippery. Only one shade was problematic--Surge--which clumped up and was sheerer compared to the other shades. They lasted between four and six hours and were lightly hydrating over time. They had a hint of vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Stinger
Tom Ford Beauty Stinger Lip Spark ($55.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a medium-dark pink with strong, warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic sheen. It had medium to semi-opaque color coverage that adhered fairly evenly without getting into my lip lines–it was one of the better shades in the formula. The consistency was fairly smooth with just a touch of the sparkle coming through with a moderately emollient, but lightweight and thinner, feel as it glided across my lips. It stayed on well for four hours and was moisturizing while worn.

Trance
Tom Ford Beauty Trance Lip Spark ($55.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a medium-dark purple with cool undertones and an iridescent blue sparkle. It applied horrifically: splotchy, uneven, clumpy, and settled into my lip lines. It was absolutely appalling as a standalone lip color, and at the price point with the claims they make (“explosive color” — as in color that goes on wherever it pleases). It had semi-sheer coverage with a very emollient consistency that succumbed to all the pitfalls of more slippery lipstick textures. It lasted for three hours and was hydrating over time.

Trance just makes me want to cry. It’s so gorgeous in the tube, but it looks like $hit on the lips. At least Stinger seems to be pretty great!
Right? Trance would be so beautiful if it had better, more even coverage.
Exactly, Rachel! It could have been a WINNING shade if done well. But this looks like ?.
I said the exact same thing! I SOOOO would have like this on to work. I almost want it to just look at it in the tube. ๐
Checking the dupes, it’s no wonder CP is killing it. This whole collection is rather sad. TF/EL can do far better. In this digital age, with so much info available, HE brands cannot afford to coast on their reputation.
$55 for mediocre and in some cases downright unattractive stuff??? I guess Tom Ford is bullet-proof but a lot of his recent releases really seem to be in the “the Emperor has no clothes” category.
Thank GOODNESS for dupes! I’m beyond covered for Stinger, and even have one for Havov. Although I do believe that Havoc would look stunning if one were to use a similar shade of lip liner underneath!
Trance, though. So BAAAD. ?
Ouch. I was never going to buy these for the price anyway, but the quality of Trance is almost criminal. A shame about Havoc, too … especially since it doesn’t appear to have any real dupes.
Havoc is such a glorious shade, but absolute rubbish for $55 USD – a C- rating. And as for Trance….
Crazy bad not even factoring in the price. So disappointed.
Three in theory gorgeous lipsticks. Such a pity it all went so wrong.
I love the colour of Havoc. I have dupes but as the closest is just 85% it is a rather unique shade. I doubt I’d have bought it even if it had got an A, I find TF too expensive, there is an economic line I don’t like to cross.
Stinger didn’t appeal as much to me though it is very pretty.
I fell in love with the first picture of Havoc, only to be brutally woken up by the next photo, the first swatch, then it went from bad to worse.
Tbh itโs like a running joke at this point for higher end conventional brands to do horrible compromises of sheer blue shades that are still alienating to regular consumers and pointless for people who want over the top colors. MAC, TF, I feel like maybe Guerlain? But WHY?
Trance really reminded me of an old Illamasqua lipstick that was also a tragic blotchy purple (ESP). Turns out they aren’t all that similar color-wise, they’re just similarly awful!
Damnit, I was content to look at the beautiful photos of them in the tubes and not be tempted to purchase any, but Havoc looks like something I might actually wear.
I always have to click on “F”s and see the horror show. LOL
