Chasing Comets
Terra Moons Chasing Comets Cosmic Chameleon Shadow ($13.00 for 0.05 oz.) has a medium-dark, purply base with fine, multichrome shimmer that shifted from bluish-green to chartreuse to gold. It had opaque pigmentation with a smooth, lightly emollient texture that picked up readily with a dry brush and had good adhesion to bare skin. It wore well for eight hours before showing signs of fading.

Formula Overview
$15.00/0.05 oz. - $300.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be a cross between "vivid metallic and iridescent chameleon," so they have a stronger color base but a multichrome shift. The brand recommended applying over an eyeshadow primer and in a thin layer to "intensify the shift," though I did not personally find that primer necessarily impacted the shift as they were readily apparent used on their own.
They were richly pigmented with a soft, smooth consistency that was lightly emollient but not too thick or too densely-packed into the pan, so it was easy to pick up product with a dry brush as well as fingertips/dampened brushes if preferred. The eyeshadow applied evenly to bare skin and blended out well along the edges.
The vivid, more colored base helped make these easier to incorporate with other eyeshadows, too, so those who find multichromes daunting may like to start with this type of multichrome. They lasted between seven and eight hours on me before creasing visibly.

Beyond Apollo
Terra Moons Beyond Apollo Duochrome Eyeshadow ($8.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a darker, sage green over a blackened base with duochrome shimmer that shifted from green to purple paired with a sparkling, metallic finish. It had a high-shine effect with a smooth, lightly emollient texture that was substantial enough to help lock those sparkly bits onto the lid with minimal fallout. The eyeshadow was fully opaque in a single layer, and it stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview
$8.50/0.05 oz. - $170.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "blendable" and "pigmented" with "a bit of kick up" when used due to being "pressed by hand." Some shades come with "additional information" such as being sheerer on the brand's website (for that particular shade) or to use a "glitter primer" due to the finish.
I found that some matte shades were more noticeably powdery than others, but whether there was just a little bit of powderiness or more noticeable powderiness really depended on a shade. The neon shades were the most powdery and hardest to work with on their own; some had more specific tips/guidance on how to work with them, which I felt was great for disclosure, but it could get hard to remember what shade needs to be applied in such and such fashion since it really did vary a lot shade by shade. The darker and less neon matte shades tended to perform the best for me--more pigmentation, better blendability, and were easier to work with and were more consistent.
Most shades--matte and more shimmery--were pigmented, easy to blend, and applied well to bare skin. They lasted between seven and eight hours with most closer to eight hours before fading (more of the mattes) or creasing (some of the more intense metallics).

Star Catcher
Terra Moons Star Catcher Matte Eyeshadow ($6.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a deep plum with subtle, cool undertones and a sparkling-matte finish with faint violet micro-shimmer throughout. The shimmer seemed to embed better with the underlying base than most sparkly-mattes, but I still had light fallout. The texture was slightly drier and somewhat powdery, but it packed opaque coverage and was blendable on bare skin. It stained my lids after wearing for nine hours with minimal fading.

Journey to Neptune
Terra Moons Journey to Neptune Matte Eyeshadow ($6.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a slightly muted, medium blue with strong, cool undertones and barely-there cooler lavender pearl over a more matte finish. The texture was soft, blendable, and a little powdery but not prone to fallout or sheering out too readily, so the full coverage could be maintained if desired. It lasted well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

One word: Gorgeous!! They are each prettier than the last. Of course, I am all about the green. I am going to fight it. Just packing my makeup to move will take me a month so I am not adding anything to my collection until I decide what I am doing. I currently live in a 3 bedroom, two bath, approximately 2500 square foot house and if I move I will be downsizing into a one or two bedroom apartment. I don’t even know if there is room in an apartment of that size for my collection!
Good luck downsizing! That is a big job ahead of you!
Another set of beautiful eyeshadows from Terra Moons.
Isn’t Beyond Apollo basically MAGICAL???
Those are so pretty! I like the idea of purchasing single shadows in specific colors than always buying palettes. Their sale is helpful too. Thank you for the review!
TM makes such beautiful eyeshadow. I’ve been digging La Lune, Shattered Stars and Gamma Ray for the past few weeks. Peachy golds, chartreuse and sparkles is cheerful! 🙂
Chasing Comets is one very splendidly perfect purple with green flash eyeshadow that I can so see myself using and enjoying the results of! Makes me think of the Northern Lights!
Why have you stopped posting photos of eyeshadow applied to your eyes? To view swatches of eyeshadow is helpful but does not provide enough information to decide whether to purchase the eyeshadow. Viewing the eyeshadow on you was alway the ultimate factor in deciding whether to purchase the product.
Hi Nancy!
While I know it has been a year now, I am still having moments of more intense grief over the passing of my dog, Magellan, which results in me tearing up throughout the day, often without warning. Since his passing, I have been applying eyeshadow a bit wonky – noticeably above my lash line (more like halfway up my lid space) so that when I tear up, it doesn’t ruin the makeup so that I can still test, but it looks completely weird. I’m very sorry that it is taking me so much time to get to a point where the tearing up is more seldom. There are weeks where it is better, and then there are weeks where small things trigger me throughout the day.
Winston is dear, but Mellan is the heart dog. My experience is that you never get over it, you only get used to it. The grief is heavy, and no one minds not having new eye looks. I’m tearing up just thinking of you.
Thank you, KJH <3
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I can understand the moments of spontaneous and intense grief and just know you are not alone. Take your time, we are here for you.
Thank you, Carla <3 For the most part, it doesn't feel so bad, it's just... not ideal for wearing makeup, ahh!
So sorry to hear of your lingering pain. So very understandable.
Chasing Comets! Love at first sight! A lovely, almost spectacular eyeshadow. I think I must get me some Terra Moon eyeshadows this year.
I like the other three as well. A special little love I send to Journey to Neptune. I would look sick in this kind of blue, but I love the look of this shade. Now if I could find shoes, a belt or a handbag or even a skirt in this colour I’d love to wear it. I just can’t close to my skin.
I will always be a sucker for shades like Beyond Apollo.
Terra Moons single handedly ruined mainstream makeup for me (in such a good way!) Everything they release knocks it out of the park. So gorgeous.
Chasing comets has to be one of my new favourite eyeshadows. That cheeky greenish shift.
I really love seeing all the indie reviews! It’s hard to want to buy anything else after experiencing their magic.
Thank you!
Wow on Star Catcher, I may make a lone purchase!
