Tarte Tarteist Blush Palette
Tarte Tarteist Blush Palette

Tarte Tarteist Blush Palette ($38.00 for 0.63 oz.) contains four shades of warm-toned blushes for spring/summer. It’s a limited edition palette housed in a slim, travel-friendly palette with a large interior mirror and the products are labeled on the palette itself. The formula used is the Amazonian Clay Blush one, which is supposed to have 12-hour wear and be “pigment-packed.” I like Tarte’s formula, but the one downside is that they rarely wear much beyond eight hours, so they tend to get hit badly by longevity ratings as a result. The pigmentation can sometimes be lacking, but all four shades in the palette had good color payoff.

Live is a softened, medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque coverage with a smooth, slightly firm consistency that blended out fairly well. It lasted for eight hours on me, which isn’t bad, but it isn’t close to the 12-hours claimed. (This is, unfortunately, par for the course with Tarte’s formula for me.) Tarte Exhilarating (LE, $29.00) is darker, warmer (95% similar). Dior My Lady (003) (LE, $60.00) is warmer (95% similar). ColourPop Sugarcoated (LE, $8.00) is less shimmery, cooler (95% similar). Dior Rose Baiser (361) (P, $48.00) is more shimmery, cooler (90% similar). Zoeva CR020 (P, ) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). MAC Hipness (LE, $24.00) is darker (90% similar). Laugh is a medium, pinky-coral with warm undertones and a soft, frosted finish. It had great pigmentation with a soft, lightly powdery texture that was really blendable on the skin. It didn’t emphasize pores when diffused on the skin. This shade wore for eight and a half hours before fading. Too Faced Love Hangover (P, $26.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Dior Coral Pop (10) (LE, $48.00) is cooler (90% similar). By Terry Light & Tan Vibes #2 (LE, ) is more shimmery, lighter, warmer (90% similar). theBalm Hot Mama (P, $21.00) is warmer (90% similar). Love is a muted, medium pinky-plum with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that was paired with a slightly firm/stiff texture, so I had to use a denser brush and jab at the surface to get product to really transfer from the pan to the brush. The color wore for eight hours on me. Anastasia Rose (PiP, ) is more shimmery, lighter (95% similar). Stila Dusty Rose (LE, ) is less shimmery (90% similar). Tarte Impress (LE, $29.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). NARS Blasphemy (LE, $30.00) is warmer (90% similar). Dream is a bright, peony pink with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had nice color payoff with a soft, smooth, and blendable texture that was easy to use and apply to the skin. Makeup Geek Hanky Panky (DC, $9.99) is more shimmery (95% similar). These all look really, really pretty on you, Christine! Mine’s on the way. As much as I love peachy/corally shades, I kind of wish Love would have been a nude, a berry, a even a purple. Something a little different to break up the peaches and pink and make the palette more versatile. I adore the packaging. Such a fun design!

Ooh, fun! I hope you love your palette when it arrives, Rachel! 🙂 I was impressed by Tarte’s shipping speed during F&F – same day shipping, and it actually came regular FedEx. I feel like almost every direct brand sends SmartPost/SurePost, lol!

I love the look of this palette, I wanted it as soon as I saw it but I thought I’d best wait for your review. Sure enough, I have dupes for all the shades. Very similar to Too Faced Love Flush Wardrobe. Part of me is glad, part of me still wants this, especially as Live is a better dupe for Spring Flock than How Deep is Your Love.

The colors are really pretty, but I’ll be passing. I have enough dupes in my stash, and I prefer to carry small, individual pans for on-the-go touch ups.

I have way too many blushers to consider this. i own the following which I bet are pretty good dupes :-
UD Gwen Stefani Cheeky, NARS Outlaw and Irgasm, Benefit Coralista, Laura Geller Apricot Berry and even NYX Spanush Rose.

Love the colors and your applications. Colors are wonderful summer colors on you and I suspect they would look good on me too.

I love Blush palettes and I hope major companies keep them coming!
Between the Tarte ones, Too Faced, & Urban Decay there have been some great ones past 6 mos

I did purchase this palette yesterday and it being my very first Tarte Blush palette I think it does the brand justice but I think the shades are so common! I know I won’t wear the shade “Live” way to bright for my liking! But it’s a nice palette, good pigmentation and perfect for summertime traveling!

these tarte 12hr blushes rate no 1 for me. they last 10+hours on my super oily skin, 9lus colors are so easy to put on and blend.

also wat to comment on the ‘made in china’ label. the apple iphones are also made in china. but in in these days of global supply chain (where you can source raw materials from anywhere in the world), a ‘made in xx’ label should be interpreted as ‘assembled in xx’, like the iphone 6 – where the majority of the value added originated from the US.
