Bounce
Tarte Bounce Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paints ($20.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a medium-dark rose with warm undertones and a matte finish. The color coverage was mostly opaque with even application. It had a lightweight, thin but not too thin texture, so it spread well but didn’t look streaky or sink into lip lines. After it dried down, I could still smile without my lips appearing “cracked,” and the color wore away evenly and did not flake over a six hour period. It was slightly drying, though.
The Quick Dry formula is supposed to have “full coverage” with a “transfer-proof” finish that won’t crack, dry your lips out, or feather. After trying several shades in the formula, there is a lot of inconsistency across shades. Some are nice, some are terrible; some absolutely “crack” and others have a soft matte finish that is transfer-proof without making lips look drier. The formula is, overall, lightly to moderately drying on me, though the wear is longer at five to seven hours and most shades had good pigmentation.

Bling
Tarte Bling Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paints ($20.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a muted, medium-dark plum with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The consistency was smooth, thin without being watery, and easy to spread and maneuver across the lips without streaking. It applied with mostly opaque coverage that dried down to a wearable, soft matte finish that didn’t crack or emphasize the texture of my lips. It wore well for six hours and was lightly drying over time.

Front Row
Tarte Front Row Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paints ($20.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a medium-dark reddish brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. The pigmentation was nearly opaque–you could see the merest hint of my lip freckle peeking through–with a smooth consistency that was thin but not watery or difficult to work with. The color spread evenly across the lips, dried down without emphasizing my lip lines or my lips’ natural texture, and wasn’t too clingy. It lasted for five hours on me and was a bit drying.

Hooray for a batch of good performances! I like all of these colors a lot, but Bling and Front Row are more of my colors.
Finally!
All 3 shades are in my wheelhouse! Definitely my type of shades, I guess this is why I have 2 dupes for Bling! Love the sample of that Ciate one so much that I do want its full-sized version when it runs out.
Front Row seems to be a fairly “comfy” one, but I am just not sure, though? I do love the shade a lot!
I feel like you’d feel these are more drying than they are worth!
Thanks, Christine, in that case I’ll leave these Tarte ones alone. Can’t wait for this fad to go bye-bye!
Oh finally, some A scores! The colors here are very pretty and very wearable
At least they weren’t all duds!
Bling is BEAUTIFUL.
But I do have two dupes, (Colourpop Tulle and Colourpop Stingraye) that I adore. So I don’t THINK I *NEED* it.
I can resist!!
You can resist!!
Bling caught my eye originally, but I’m not at a place I could even fathom buying something drying!
I hear ya, Erin! I’m done with drying formulas, haha!
The top colour is an interesting shade, it looks light on the lips but when you look at the whole face it doesn’t look that light. The other two are very wearable colours, I like them.
Glad you liked two of them! 🙂
Wow, love the two lower colours on you Christine!
Thank you, M!
