The Artistique Blush formula is supposed to have a “naturally glowing finish.” The formula is consistent: the blushes have a very soft, almost cream-like powder texture that blends out effortlessly to a luminous sheen with semi-opaque to opaque coverage (that is easily applied more sheerly or layered for true-to-pan color) and good wear (eight to nine hours). Coup de Genie is more like a highlighting blush than a true blush; there is visible color, though, so lighter skin tones will see color and warmth while darker skin tones will see more of a sheen. It had mostly opaque pigmentation, which was paired with a very soft, silky texture, so it could be sheered out easily or just lightly diffused along the edges. The color wore well for eight hours.

A note on packaging: Surratt’s range comes in lightweight plastic pans, which aren’t ideal for long-term use (particularly if traveling or putting in a makeup bag), as his products are designed to be put into custom palette solutions. Personally, I put magnets on the back of each and keep them in freestyle palettes (like a Z-Palette) as it is more economical.

Beautiful! But yeah, of course I’d love it as I have 2 of its dupes: Nyx Narcissistic and CP Highly Waisted. But those golden-peachy shades sure are reminiscent of candlelight, I suppose that’s what I love about them.

This looks so pretty but seems to be more of highlighter than an actual blush, an observation born out by the dupes – so many of them seem to be highlighters too.
