Sneak Peek: MAC Liptensity Lipstick Photos & Swatches

MAC Liptensity Collection
MAC Liptensity Collection

MAC Liptensity ($21.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a new, limited edition lipstick available in 24 shades. The formula is supposed to deliver “extreme, undeniable colkour intensity.” I’ll be testing these over the next couple of weeks with full reviews to come. They launch online on September 20th and in select locations on September 21st (international is October 2016).

P.S. — I’ll be redoing the Eros and Gumball lip swatches later today (not quite as in focus as they should be).

Wow!! Almost all of these look great! Why LE MAC, why??? That black Stallion can give UD Vice Perversion a run for its money. I have to check my stash for dupes, but Hellebore is calling my name

Natalia Avatar

Wow, those black and blue are gorgeous! It’s so hard to come across good pigmented black and blue lipsticks that are not streaky. I’ve got my eyes on those, plus Driftwood and Toast and Butter. I can hear my wallet crying already

Sarah Avatar

Smoked Almond looks like my absolute perfect nude! Thank heavens for the dupe list, though–not only is $21 a little steep for me but I’m transitioning into only using cruelty-free brands. Also curious to see the dupes for Galaxy Grey. That one kind of reminds me of a darker version of ColourPop’s Marshmallow!

Just like I thought. The more high-performing shades from this range seem to wear with a lot of opacity and I like that the formula appears to diminish lip lines, rather than exaggerating them. Galaxy Grey and Toast and Butter look A+++++ on you!

Arg Dionysus looks too emollient like its gonna be disappointing. But on the hand now I’m very excited for Galaxy Grey!!!
I have the MUFE lipstick that looks just like it, (502? I can’t remember) but I’m gonna need it anyway.
Oh btw Christine I cannot tell any difference between the pics you said were not in focus and all the others! They look perfect.

Eros is all blurred on the bottom lip in the center! The center should the sharpest and then start blurring on the edges because of the depth of field setting! Gumball isn’t too bad, but if I have to retake Eros, might as well do Gumball too 🙂 Normally, I reshoot prior to posting, but I didn’t even have time to edit photos yesterday and just finished editing the last one two minutes before I was due to post, lol!

Christine, what, if anything, do you use to exfoliate your lips? They are just perfect! Mine get flaky halfway through the day and I would kill for my lipstick to look as good on me. Also, this collection of colors makes me so happy, thanks for the sneak peek, I have many of these on my list now – thanks!

If I use anything, it’s usually a sugar-based lip scrub (this is the one I usually use: http://www.temptalia.com/product/aubrey-elizabeth-apothecary-sugar-lip-scrub/). I don’t find it necessary for me unless I go longer than a week without doing lip swatches, but usually removing lip color 10-15 times every other day is sufficient to keep my lips smooth!

Those all look awesome! So evenly colored. Smoked Almond is going to probably be something I’ll buy. They ought to make these permanent. They look really nice, not streaky and very color saturated. But I guess MAC has to meet their quota of 50,000 limited releases every year or something.

Nicole Avatar

I like a lot of these! I’m actually really surprised. I don’t usually like MAC releases. Of course, I don’t need more lipstick (I just reorganized my lipstick collection today and I DO NOT NEED more lipstick), but then, who does? I’m just going to have to check the dupe list, because if I do buy more lipstick it really needs to not be something I have 5 of already.

for the first time I’m excited about a lip release by mac! the colours look awesome, particularly interested in marsala, smoked almond and toast and butter. hope they last well.

Driftwood, Galaxy Grey, Toast and Butter, and Smoked Almond are gorgeous!! I’m not a big MAC fan but one of these may make it to the collection. That Toast and Butter is gorgeous, it’s so me!

Nika99 Avatar

I love Driftwood!!Doe,Smoked Almond,Toast and Butter,Postmodern,Medium Rare, and Stallion are all colors I want!I so don’t need any more lipsticks but these look like they are going to rate well.

Kira Avatar

Eh I kinda hope they’re not straight A’s in review because the last thing I need is more lipstick. The fact that they’re LE doesn’t help. I don’t have it in me to race to the check out online before the color I want sells out.

Andrea Avatar

Dang it! Those dark lipsticks look amazing!! Why do they have to be LE?? I’ve got Marsala, Hellebore, Dionysus, Cordovan, Burnt Violet and Double Fudge on my list… Is it socially acceptable to spend +100€ on lipstick?

Caretha Avatar

These colors look outstanding. I’m really curious about their staying power . I really hate to reapply over and over again. I’m loving that Dionysus~~~

Saira Avatar

As someone who has a lot of difficulty finding lipstick shades I like and that I think are flattering on me, I cannot stress how excited I am to try these! I have an olive skin tone and very pigmented lips, so I often find that colours don’t translate well on my lips the way that they do for other people. I’m not a fan of purple-toned lipsticks, and my pigmented lips often turn of pink shades into purple ones. Don’t even get me started on nude lipsticks. These look true to the shade in the tube, can’t wait to see what they look like on me!

Lani Avatar

I bet they are LE because all other lippies will stop selling being compared to these 😀 I am very intrigued by a few shades at the least. I hope these are not based on cremesheen formula in any way because I am allergic to cremesheen lipsticks for some reason. But those stunning milky and pastel Cremesheen shades make me drool all over them anyways. Your dupe list is the best invention, Christine!

I need some help here: got Smoked Almond, it’s really (and I mean, really) dry. Like clay, or putter. I love the color, but the consistency? Is it a batch or? I love MAC lipsticks and have quite a few, but this was such a disappointment.
