Shiseido Night Rose, Streaming Mauve, Rose Muse VisionAiry Gel Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Night Rose (203)
Shiseido Night Rose (203) VisionAiry Gel Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a muted, dusty coral with warm undertones and a satin finish. The pigmentation was nearly opaque in a single layer, which spread evenly across my lips. It had a lightweight consistency that was not quite as slippery as other shades in the range, and I felt like it sank into my deeper lip lines a tad, though it wasn’t noticeable from a normal viewing distance. The lipstick was creamy and easy to apply, so the wear was comfortable over the five hours it stayed on well for.

Formula Overview
$26.00/0.05 oz. - $520.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "high levels of pigment" for "cushiony, comfortable, weightless color" that lasts for "six hours." They had rich color coverage in a single stroke, just as promised, and they were creamy and emollient, which made them comfortable and easy to apply on my lips.
The formula has a slight set to it where it is less emollient and clings slightly (but not uncomfortably), so it loses some of the initial slip, which ultimately helps keep the product in place better and for longer. Over time (about an hour or so), the shine wore down a bit and the consistency felt a little tackier, but most of the shades lasted for six to eight hours and some of the mid-tone and deeper shades made it through a meal adequately.
The formula remained comfortable to wear, kept my lips hydrated while worn but they often felt quite good even a few hours later after a shade wore down. There was no discernible scent or taste.
The biggest downside to the product is that each tube contains a mere 0.05 oz., which is absolutely tiny relative to most traditional lipsticks (contrast this with the also-just released ModernMatte lipstick, which is the same price but contains 0.14 oz.).

Streaming Mauve (208)
Shiseido Streaming Mauve (208) VisionAiry Gel Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium-dark, rosy mauve with warmer undertones and a cream finish. The lipstick had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which applied evenly and fluidly directly from the tube. It felt lightly creamy with some slip and almost felt “wet” initially, but it set lightly to a lightly tacky texture that was still comfortable to wear but kept the lipstick from sliding around too easily. It stayed on well for five and a half hours and was moisturizing over time.

Rose Muse (211)
Shiseido Rose Muse (211) VisionAiry Gel Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a soft, medium pink with strong, warm undertones and a satin sheen. It had good color coverage in one stroke, though just shy of full coverage. The lipstick was lightly creamy, smooth, and comfortable to apply and to wear as it had just enough slip to feel nourishing but not slide around over time. There was a touch of tackiness that became present about 45 minutes after I applied it (but it didn’t lift color if I pressed my lips together). This shade lasted nicely for four and a half hours and was hydrating over time.

Due to their paltry .05 amount of product, I’m looking at high ranking, near as possible dupes for Night Rose and Rose Muse. Especially so for Night Rose! That is such a beautiful shade of true terracota rose, that I just need its doppelganger!
I wish it was just like… even 0.08 oz., lol.
OMG, I literally just ordered “Ginza Red” from Sephora about twenty minutes before I got your Day in Beauty email. I know that lip products with this slim shape typically have less product, but I didn’t realize that it was only 0.5 oz!
Christine, I wish I had seen your post before I placed my order.
Beautiful shades, tiny lipsticks and a big price….I would be looking at the dupes.
These all lovely really lovely on you. The formula is great, but they are also $51NZD here, and for a product maybe a third of the size of a regular lipstick, I can’t justify it 🙁
I remain in love with the shades and finish… but I will not buy those because of how little we get. As Nancy I will turn toward dupes from other ranges !
