Sephora What's My Secret & Hear Me Roar Rouge Lacquers Reviews & Swatches
What's My Secret (05)
Sephora What’s My Secret (05) Rouge Lacquer ($13.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a medium-dark, grape purple with warm, pink undertones and a glossy, cream finish and barely-there micro-pearl. It did not appear shimmery to my eye in person, but there were very fine pearls in the close-up photos. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in one pass, which adhered evenly and smoothly across my lips. The lipstick was creamy, emollient, and a bit slippery but managed not to feather or slide around while I wore it. This shade lasted nicely for five hours and was moisturizing over time.

Formula Overview
$13.00/0.1 oz. - $130.00 Per Ounce
The lipstick is supposed to have a "silky smooth melting formula" that yields "intense long-lasting color and high-shine" with "instant hydration." Most shades were creamy without being so slippery that they felt that way or went on unevenly. They do melt quickly, though, so if they are left in a warmer area (with all my photography lights running) and applied, they feel substantially creamier than at room temperature (about 72 degrees).
The texture was smooth, creamy, and comfortable to apply and to wear with most of the shades applying well, though lighter and very deep shades tended to have application problems. The lighter shades tended to separate and sit in my lip lines, while deeper shades were less pigmented and more prone to patchiness (but didn't pull into my lip lines as noticeably as the lighter shades did). The majority of the shades had semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation with a few coming in at more medium to semi-opaque coverage.
As there are 30 shades in the range, wear time definitely varied from three to six hours, depending on depth and pigment level with deeper, redder shades lasting longer than pale beiges and peaches. The formula has been moderately hydrating without feathering on me so far, but I'm not particularly prone to that but would worry about it for those who find it a more frequent occurrence with some of the deeper shades in the lineup.
They had a scent that Sephora lists as having these notes: "vanilla, peony, and intrepid patchouli," and I'd describe the scent as a subtle, sweet, vanilla-floral hybrid mix (nothing specific to my nose) and on most shades, I didn't notice a taste but some shades gave me a bit of one (enough that I was like, "hmm").

PPermanent. $13.00.
Hear Me Roar (08)
Sephora Hear Me Roar (08) Rouge Lacquer ($13.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a medium-dark berry with subtle, cool undertones and a glossy, cream finish and barely-there pearl. It had semi-opaque color coverage in a single layer, which went on smoothly without tugging. The color seemed to be fairly even, but I think the lack of opacity coupled with the hue itself seemed to emphasize the natural unevenness of my actual lip color. The consistency was lightweight, moderately emollient, and comfortable to wear. It stayed on well for five hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

I don’t have anything like What’s My Secret, nor is it a color I would typically wear. This is speaking to me… more like shouting my name. So pretty and different (at least for me) – a great summer night out color.
If MAC doesn’t have a Liptensity in Hellbore, I am getting What’s My Secret! (Although, if I just threw on ABH Rage Matte Lipstick with a subtle sheer gloss….)
What’s My Secret is not a flattering colour for me and it’s one I find sort of odd when I see others wearing it (reminds me of someone who worked with my auntie Rose when I was a kid….long and pointless story!) but I love Hear Me Roar!
Oddly, I don’t have any dupes for What’s My Secret. I’m loving this formula so far, so I may get it.
Hear Me Roar is a great berry shade.
great eye look!!!
What’s My Secret is amazing!
