Golden Gate (31)
Sephora Golden Gate (31) Lipstories Lipstick ($8.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a deep, muted plum with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, while the lipstick applied fluidly across my lips and delivered even coverage. It had a lightly creamy, smooth consistency that wasn’t too thick or too thick, so it sat well on my lips and did not emphasize my lip lines. It wore well for five and a half hours and was lightly moisturizing over time.

Formula Overview
$8.00/0.14 oz. - $57.14 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "lightweight" with "full-coverage color in one swipe." The majority of shades were pigmented with semi-opaque to full color payoff in a single layer, as described. The more shimmery shades tended to be a bit sheerer overall, while the mattes and creams were usually closer to opaque in coverage.
The textures were typically creamy, lightweight, and not too thin or too thick on the lips, so they were comfortable to apply and to wear. There were some shades where the color pulled into my deeper lip lines upon application, and it was more or less noticeable just depending on the color and finish of the particular.
Some shades seemed hydrating and others were non-drying. They lasted anywhere from three to over six hours on me. There was a subtle, sweet, fruity scent (I couldn't detect it on, just in the tube), and I haven't noticed any taste after wearing them.

Berry-licious (32)
Sephora Berry-licious (32) Lipstories Lipstick ($8.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a deep, purple-berry with warmer undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that did not build up to full coverage. The consistency was creamy with heavy slip, so it had a tendency to slide around on my lips during wear, though I did not experience any feathering. It lasted for five hours, was hydrating, and left a faint stain behind.

Take a Bite (35)
Sephora Take a Bite (35) Lipstories Lipstick ($8.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a bright, medium coral-red with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had good color payoff, but the lipstick seemed to separate a bit on my lips along my lip lines and did not appear as smooth as other shades in the range. The lipstick had a smooth, lightly creamy consistency that glided on with ease, so I’m not sure why it didn’t look as good when all was said and done. It wore well for five hours and was moisturizing over time.

Golden Gate is beautiful. Only $8 and an A+ rating!!! I already have MAC Rebel, which is listed as a dupe, but I never wear it because it slips and bleeds on me no matter what I do. I wonder if Golden Gate would be easier for me to wear.
Golden Gate and Berry-liscious look so rich and lush! I love them both.
Thankfully, I do have MAC’s La Vie En Rouge, so that’s a relief considering how Take A Bite did something weird by separating on your lips.
I’m loving these colors!
Christine, do these have any kind of scent? Thanks!
It’s listed under “formula overview” – “There was a subtle, sweet, fruity scent (I couldn’t detect it on, just in the tube), and I haven’t noticed any taste after wearing them.”
Fantastic shades, great ratings and a suburb price – these are all lovely.
I really like all of these shades. I have to slow down on buying lipsticks or the huge purge I did a few months ago will be for nothing!! I am trying to keep my collection within the confines of my existing storage so if I buy a bunch more then I will have to get rid of some of the ones I have. Really Deborah, show some restraint, LOL.
I am in love with Golden Gate. It is really beautiful; and, it does wear like a dream, without drying lips as Matte formulas are apt to do. I bought my mom the Berry-licious color for her upcoming birthday because she loves anything in the purple family. Sephora is really delivering the goods with these story lipsticks.
I bought First Class for my daughter on her birthday is beautiful! A sort of a light red with coral mix very pretty! There’s a gold one that is beautiful as a topper must be tgexGikden Gate forgot its name but so gorgeous just a challenge of a shade tocwear fir me but it is calling y name. I’m supposed to be on a straight jacket this year when it comes to any purchase of anything. No space to store one more beauty item like a squirrel storing nuts. Lol!
