Sephora Cherry Moon (94) & Cinder Rose (83) Cream Lip Stains Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Cherry Moon (94)
Sephora Cherry Moon (94) Cream Lip Stain ($14.00 for 0.17 oz.) is a rich, deep red with strong, cool blue undertones and a soft matte finish. I loved that the finish was still matte and transfer-proof like one would want out of this type of formula, but it had a softness to it that looked and felt comfortable on my lips. I wish this shade was more pigmented, though, but it was layerable to full coverage by adding a second coat after the initial layer had dried down. The texture was lightweight, thin but not watery, and it was easy to spread across my lips. This shade was still going strong after eight hours of wear and was neither drying nor hydrating.

Formula Overview
$14.00/0.169 oz. - $82.84 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "high-coverage" that goes on "smooth" and yields a "silky, lightweight stain" that is "long-lasting" and "never sticky" and "won't dry out lips." One of the signature traits for the formula is that it is a thinner (and yet somehow creamy) texture that does spread well but feels thin and very lightweight on the lips. It dries down quickly, but I never felt like it was troublesome to apply, even if I needed an extra moment to get around the edges of my lips, so it was a more forgiving formula despite setting more quickly. Once it set, the color did stay locked on for hours--I tested shades for around eight hours and many were still going strong. The formula was non-drying to slightly drying to me. They had a moderately strong, sweet scent (almost like burnt sugar) that also smelled just slightly "perfume-y" to me, but it seemed to dissipate after an hour of wear.
The pigmentation varied from shade to shade, but it did seem that the more shimmery and metallic shades often were less pigmented and did not always apply as evenly and sometimes seemed to sit in my lip lines. The cream/matte shades applied more evenly and had more opaque coverage on average.

Cherry Moon (94)
PPermanent. $14.00.
Cinder Rose (83)
Sephora Cinder Rose (83) Cream Lip Stain ($14.00 for 0.17 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark mauve with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was smooth, fluid, and creamy and seemed slightly thicker than other shades in the range, and the dry down took a bit longer, though it set to a mostly transfer-proof finish within 30 seconds, but there was slight tackiness apparent when I pressed my lips together for the first half hour of wear. It had opaque color payoff that stayed on well for seven and a half hours on me. The formula felt neither drying nor hydrating over time.

Love both of these shades especially Cherry Moon. Having surgery to day so will have to look closer when I get done. Just passing time now waiting!!
What a nice, calming way to pass the time. Here’s to a speedy recovery!
Good luck, Deborah! Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Hope all goes well and you have a complete and quick recovery.?
Best wishes Deborah for a speedy recovery and I hope it all goes well. Saying a prayer for you now.
OMG Cherry Moon is gorgeous! Going to pick that up during my lunch break lol
Wow, Cherry Moon is as beautiful as its name!! But I already own 16 red bullet lipsticks and 3 red liquid lipsticks, so I think I’m all set with reds for awhile.
Cinder Rose is very pretty, too, but I already own three of the dupes on the list.
Cherry Moon is stunning!
Cherry Moon is mesmerizing! I wonder how it would pull on me. Love the formula of these, too.
I LOVE your eye look! Is there any way you could post it to the Looks page? The page is great, and I check it out constantly, but it often features looks you do with new products and quite a few shadows per look. I am more likely to use 3 to 5 shadows at a time, and bright/dark/colorful looks, like the ones you do most often lately, are far less flattering on me than they are on you! For me, your most wearable (steal-able) looks are ones you do with existing neutrals, sometimes with new products used as accents, presumably when you want a simpler eye to go with lip or cheek swatches. I’m grateful for the list of shadows here, but I can’t see where Prowlin’ was used (unless it was over the Rockstar eyeliner, to soften it, maybe?). The same request goes for a bunch of looks you’ve done with Nude Dip lately. (And if you don’t want to post this type of look, do you remember what you did to get it?) Thanks in advance, as always!
Sorry, this wasn’t an eye look I photographed as it was just something I threw on, so it was just for when I was photographing the Sephora Lip Stains (they were really running the gamut of bold/unusual/warm/cool). Prowlin’ is used on the lower lash line (that’s why it’s listed after the eyeliner!).
I don’t really keep track of these types of looks that I just throw on solely not to clash with the rest of the products I’m swatching for photos, but I posted the look with Nude Dip weeks ago… FYI, it’s not multiple looks, it’s the same look – I usually swatch several things (multiple blushes, lip colors, etc.) with a single look 🙂 https://www.temptalia.com/look/a-neutral-look-with-pops-of-pink/
Sorry, lost track of time! Thanks, as always, for answering so swiftly!
Both of these are gorgeous! ???
Hmmm – I think these look a bit too matte for me.
Oh man, Cherry Moon is so beautiful. I may have to pick that one up. I’ve been looking for the perfect deep pink that is almost red for ages. It used to be a combo of a red lipliner and a Rimmel lipstick, but I couldn’t stand the lipstick scent. This may make a great replacement.
Cherry Moon is calling my name! Do you plan to swatch all the new shades?
Sorry, it wasn’t within my budget to buy all 90 shades.
