Sephora Be Proud & I'm a Legend Rouge Lacquers Reviews & Swatches
Be Proud (43)
Sephora Be Proud (43) Rouge Lacquer ($13.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a muted, medium brown with moderate, warm undertones and a glossy, cream finish with barely-there, micro-shimmer. It had nearly opaque color payoff that applied evenly and fluidly across my lips in a single stroke.
The texture was creamy, almost like it melted against the warmth of my lips, and had a fair amount of slip–the impressive part being how well it sat on my lips despite being a more emollient formula. It stayed on nicely for four hours and was hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$13.00/0.1 oz. - $130.00 Per Ounce
The lipstick is supposed to have a "silky smooth melting formula" that yields "intense long-lasting color and high-shine" with "instant hydration." Most shades were creamy without being so slippery that they felt that way or went on unevenly. They do melt quickly, though, so if they are left in a warmer area (with all my photography lights running) and applied, they feel substantially creamier than at room temperature (about 72 degrees).
The texture was smooth, creamy, and comfortable to apply and to wear with most of the shades applying well, though lighter and very deep shades tended to have application problems. The lighter shades tended to separate and sit in my lip lines, while deeper shades were less pigmented and more prone to patchiness (but didn't pull into my lip lines as noticeably as the lighter shades did). The majority of the shades had semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation with a few coming in at more medium to semi-opaque coverage.
As there are 30 shades in the range, wear time definitely varied from three to six hours, depending on depth and pigment level with deeper, redder shades lasting longer than pale beiges and peaches. The formula has been moderately hydrating without feathering on me so far, but I'm not particularly prone to that but would worry about it for those who find it a more frequent occurrence with some of the deeper shades in the lineup.
They had a scent that Sephora lists as having these notes: "vanilla, peony, and intrepid patchouli," and I'd describe the scent as a subtle, sweet, vanilla-floral hybrid mix (nothing specific to my nose) and on most shades, I didn't notice a taste but some shades gave me a bit of one (enough that I was like, "hmm").

Be Proud (43)
PPermanent. $13.00.
I'm a Legend (44)
Sephora I’m a Legend (44) Rouge Lacquer ($13.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a deep brown with neutral-to-cool undertones and a glossy finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage that had more of a stained-glass kind of translucency, which resulted in a bit of visible unevenness in the application.
The texture was lightweight, creamy, and had moderate slip, though I felt like it looked wetter than it actually felt while worn. The color applied better than I expected but had room for improvement, and it was hard to get crisp, even edges with direct-from-the-tube application, so a lip brush might be a better option for this particular shade. This shade wore well for four hours and was moisturizing while worn.

Be proud is my kind of brown. So pretty and would go with so many looks.
Be Proud would be a wonderful brownish nude for me if I didn’t already have PML She’s Heaven (cooler…but still close) and MAC Royally Riotous (deeper, yet similar enough of a tone).
I’m wondering if I’m A Legend would apply better over lip liner? Because this looks like it would be a fabulous nude for those of richer deep skin tones!
I love the shade I’m A Legend and my younger self would have been all over this very vampy lipstick.
Be Proud would be the perfect brown nude for my skin tone. Just lovely.
I wanted to buy Be Proud, and it looks beautiful on you Christine!, but I do not wear this shade range that often and had already picked up Bite Hard Cider. They are not too close to say no to this affordable buy forever, but just not right now.
Should be permanent as far as I can tell, so plenty of time to consider! Hard Cider is a pretty one!
