Rare Beauty Grace Soft Pinch Liquid Blush Review & Swatches
Grace
Rare Beauty Grace Soft Pinch Liquid Blush ($20.00 for 0.25 oz.) is a brighter, medium-dark pink with subtle, warm undertones and a flat, matte finish. It was richly pigmented where a little product went a very long way to the point where the brand actually recommends using “one to two dots” of products–which is totally accurate!–and working from there.
It has a very quick-drying formula, so it was imperative to work one cheek at a time, and you won’t want to waste a second as once it dries down, it becomes difficult to diffuse, blend, or otherwise correct; it wasn’t transfer-proof but definitely transfer-resistant. The texture was more fluid, serum-like, so quite thin and more emollient, which helped it spread across my skin initially. It took some practice to get to a place where I could reliably apply it evenly without a lot of fuss. It stayed on nicely for nine hours before fading visibly.

The blush is supposed to have "long-lasting color pigments" that last "all-day" where "a little goes a long way." That being said, they also say it "blends and builds beautifully," though when one looks at the "how to" instructions, I could see that being achievable as they actually say to remove excess and then use one or two dots of product on each cheek. The line-up has includes four shades in a true, flat matte finish and four shades in a lightly, dewy finish.
Like a lot of the liquid products in the brand's range, they have a lot more slip and feel more serum-like, but a little did go a long way with respect to pigmentation. First and foremost, to control application, I would recommend dotting (lightly!) once or twice per cheek but I would work one cheek at a time, especially with the matte finish. I also felt using a sponge or brush worked well for diffusing and spreading about the blush better than fingertips when working over a base as fingertips seemed to leave slight imprints and seemed more prone to lifting up product.
When in doubt, use the least amount possible! I liked dabbing a bit on the back of my hand and using a fluffy, duo-fiber brush to apply to cheeks, which gave me a better diffusion with less chance of lifting up base product. This method worked best with the dewier finish blushes as there was enough playtime, but the matte blushes dried down faster and I had to use more product to keep it malleable on the back of my hand. The dewy finish shades have a light sheen but dry down enough that they don't slide around during wear. The matte shades fully dry down.
They wore between eight and nine hours on me before showing signs of fading. Though I haven't been able to find a clip I can reference specifically to it, I've had multiple readers state that the brand owner (Selena Gomez) has mentioned that the packaging was designed to be easier to open. I found that to be true of the flattened, knob-like tops found on the liquid blushes, as it took little pressure to twist open.

I wish this was more purple-toned like it appears in the pics on Sephora’s website.
Perfect watermelon pink shade. The only thing I worry about is diffusing it in time before it sets and gives me, as Kelsee Briana Jae says, “Hey Kids!” cheeks! But I really do love the tone of this one.
Not trying to be negative but I honestly have no interest in this brand.. I am like “WHY?” so many celebrity brands just seem like desperate money grabs to me… I don’t buy celebrity perfumes either.. I think about the only celebrity brand I have purchased that was not a celebrity make up artist has been Fenty.. which I love her stuff and originally purchased the items for my daughter… I found myself dipping into her stash ๐
I got a sample of this shade in one of my recent sephora orders and… it really looks nothing like this on me, somehow! I just look sunburned. It’s natural and cute, and I got it to spread and blend really nicely before it tried down. But I wonder how the other shades will look on me if this one ends up looking like a sunburn!
I love this blush. I ordered 2 different colors with this being one of the 2. Itโs really beautiful and using only 1 drop should last me forever ? I mean how long does it take to diffuse 1 drop…itโs not a problem. Also, I support this brand because Selena Gomez is donating $100 million dollars to mental health organizations. Btw, the lippies are amazing too
