So, after trying other colors of this formula, I felt like I had to find and try this famous color. The color is really nice for cooler skin tones, but it didn’t blend as nicely as the newer colors or apply as evenly as the newer released colors I have. It is almost as if this is more waxy than the new ones. It does last a long time, but I really never reach for this because it’s not fun to work with!

I had to go to several SDMs to find one of these - the other shades from this LE release are pretty plentiful but Black Orchid seemed to be sold out everywhere (one store had one left but someone had opened it and stuck their finger in it - NO THANK YOU!). I am so glad I found this as it's one of those perfect taupe shades (leans a bit purple on me, which is fine) that works wonderfully as a long-wearing, non-creasing base for other shadows or as a lovely eyeshadow all on its own. So beautiful on the lid paired with MAC Keep Your Cool in the crease.

I love this shade for inner-corner highlights, or for the lid to jazz up a simple neutral crease. It can be a bit tricky to work with, since the shimmer loves to cling to anything that touches it... If I apply it with my finger I invariably end up with gold everywhere. Usually I will apply it with a small concealer brush to pack it on where I want it, and then tap the edges with my finger to blend.

This one is a let down compared to other shades I have tried. It's nowhere near as pigmented as some of the other shades and I don't find that it builds at all. Can create a nice sheer wash for a very simple everyday look but I only use this as a base for gold eyeshadows.

A perfect base shade for everyday application but I also use this as a nice under eye highlight. The formula is so nice and even and creates a perfect even wash of colour - you could easily use this on its own.

So happy I was finally able to get this shadow. Like almost all the Colour Tattoo shadows, it wears like iron. The colour is lovely - it's very much like Tough as Taupe only with a bit of sheen, which I prefer since Tough as Taupe can look a bit dry and flat. It's a shame this shade isn't a permanent addition to the line.

I like to use this as an eyeshadow base because it enhances the colour and increases the staying power of the eyeshadows. I tend to use it with a brush because I generally find it hard to get my fingers into this sort of container (I have long nails), and it also helps to get the best application and coverage. The colour is easy to make opaque, or to blend out depending on the look you want, but I would say the finger is probably the best blending tool, as the heat will help a lot. I find the colour looks fine on its own under the eye, but on the actual lid I think some wouldn't find the colour particularly pretty, so I would recommend it more as a base than an eyeshadow.

I love this product because it is so unique. I love it for the summer when I want a simple yet shimmery eye look with eyeliner. I find I can get about 6 hours without creasing without a primer. While it is sheer, it is intended to be so. One of my new favorite products!

Def a nice smoky eye shade. It smudges out well. I would say that the consistency is a pleasure to work with, although the coloring is quite confusing. It's both cool and warm at the same time, and I have trouble deciding what to pair up with it.

More like a cranberry than a burgundy, I would say. I like the shimmer as it makes the consistency very creamy and easy to work with. It does not crease on my eyelids and does not migrate either. AWESOME for fall look or plum/red smoky eye!

So hard to scoop out of the pan and even harder to get to spread against my eyelid. Has the consistency of frozen butter, the color is not warm enough for even my cool based skintone, ends up looking dirty on my eyelids. VERY hard to blend. I like the other non-matte color tattoos much much better.

If this weren't limited edition, Maybelline would have a lifelong fan in me!! It adds dimension to your eye effortlessly. It fits well with my natural skintone, so I don't even need to blend that much. Much more buttery than the other color tattoos that I own from the permanent collection.

What initially attracted me to this product was the color; I absolutely LOVE burgundies! This product isn't bad, but it isn't anything crazy or ground-breaking. I have oily eyelids, and this product has creased on me without a shadow over it, so I would recommend using this product as a base. The other problem this product has is the color payoff. It comes off really sheer when you initially put it on. It can be built up, but it will take time. Overall, this is an okay product.

I own this in 07 barely branded and 15 audacious asphalt. I use these as an eye shadow base/primer when I don't feel like using a real eye shadow primer. I put a very thin layer using my middle finger and then apply eyeshadow as normal. Barely branded is good for every day wear and audacious asphalt for smokey eyes. The only issue with these is that if you don't use them for a while they dry out a little bit on the surface and you have to warm it up with your finger. Neither has completely dried up on me and I have had audacious asphalt for at least 8 months. I wish maybelline came with a mate version of barely branded or some skin toned mate color, it would be such a staple!

I use this product for more of a base then I do an actual eyeshadow. Personally, it's great as a base, but I'm not sure how much I would like it as a shadow. While it is easy to apply it doesn't seem like it would stay or look as great as it could as a stand alone eyeshadow.

Out of all of the Color Tattoos, Fierce & Tangy immediately drew my interest. This is a very intense bright orange with just a touch of shimmer (doesn't really translate to lids) and opaque coverage. On my lids, I had no trouble applying this and works best as a base for eyeshadow, because it can crease. It's long-lasting, though definitely not 24-hour long-lasting. A+!
