Volatile is a medium-dark taupe with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had nearly opaque pigmentation, which built up to full coverage with less than half of a layer on top. The consistency was soft, velvety, and blendable without being prone to fallout or sheering out on my skin. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading a touch on me.
