Physicians Formula Rose Gold Butter Highlighter Review, Photos, Swatches
Rose Gold
Physicians Formula Rose Gold Butter Highlighter ($10.99 for 0.17 oz.) is a medium copper with warm, reddish undertones and a metallic sheen. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, but it was easy to blend out or apply less for sheerer coverage if preferred. The highlighter had a moist, spongy consistency when pressed and touched in the pan, but it applied more powder-like and was thinner without any true glossiness (but plenty of shine!) on my cheeks. It applied easily and blended out with little effort. The shine was strong but stopped just shy of emphasizing my skin’s natural texture. It wore well for almost 10 hours on me.

Formula Overview

The formula is supposed to be a "cream-to-powder" texture that has "one-swipe blendable coverage" with a finish that will "smooth skin texture" in addition to highlighting it. It has a spongy, creamy texture that has slight wetness to the touch, but it has the thinner, more powder-like feel of a cream-to-powder product when worked with (whether using fingertips, brushes, or sponges) and not a thicker, true cream texture. The added slip helped the formula blend seamlessly over my cheek bones while retaining coverage and minimizing any disturbance to my foundation/base products. They worked well over bare skin or on top of liquid foundation or powdered foundation in my experience. The wear time ranged between nine and 10 hours on me. They were scented with a beachy, coconutty scent, though I didn't notice it once applied.

WOW, kinda impressed with these PF highlighters and probably wouldn’t have thought about giving them a try w/o temptalia ? thanks for the reviews!!!!
P.s. Did you see Persona released another product? Highlighters…but not as ‘cheap’ as the palette.
I did but so sorry but I didn’t buy them!
It’s a stunner, and truly earns that A+! I’m always down for a good coppery rose-gold highlighter.
This is really gorgeous on you Christine, although I have yet to see anything that isn’t except maybe that white lipstick, LOL! This is too dark for my complexion and I know I have similar shades in eye shadows so I will be passing on this one.
This isn’t a colour that would work as a highlight for me but I love that it has scored so highly and for such a reasonable price. Becca, Hourglass and Tom Ford need to take notice, I think!
The Physicians Formula highlighters have been of consistently excellent quality – this one is a beautiful shade and looks so good on you.
I really thought this was ColourPop! Was surprised to see that it was this brand.
These are looking so tempting! I did however get the Milani bronzers and they must be very similar to this shade, still tempted to try the pink shade that would be most suitable to me.
I LOVE this highlighter, even on my fair skin and it doesn’t hurt that it smells amazing! I use a brush for normal highlighting and think it will be awesome in the summer as a universal product with just some bronzer (I don’t tan very well), mascara and tinted lip balm.
So glad this got the A+ from Christine.
I also use this one as an eye shadow on lid.
Yep, it’s good!
