Patrick Ta She's Hard to Get Matte Suede Lipstick Review & Swatches
She's Hard to Get
Patrick Ta She’s Hard to Get Matte Suede Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a vivid, medium-dark fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which was buildable to full coverage with a second layer.
The texture felt velvety, more like a silicone-based primer, as it glided readily across my lips but was thin, lightweight, and didn’t have any of that traditional creaminess (that feels almost wet). There was a bit of product that sank into my deeper lip lines, though the intensity of the color made it hard to tell in person. It stayed on nicely for over six hours, left a stain behind, and felt non-drying over time.

Formula Overview
$32.00/0.14 oz. - $228.57 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "fully loaded with pigment" and have a "powdery-soft, velvet finish." The texture was smooth, velvety, and creamy without a lot of shine or traditional slip--again, velvety!--of a typical lipstick but nowhere near as dry or as firm as a traditional matte lipstick either. They had rich color coverage in a single layer but felt very weightless on.
Half of the range sat fairly smoothly on my lips while the other half separated slightly along my deeper lip lines, which wasn't always enough to be noticeable in person. The colors applied evenly and were very long-wearing with most shades lasting over six hours on me and were neither drying nor hydrating over time. I didn't notice any scent or taste.

Really a stunning lipstick shade on you! However, I’ve learned my lesson when it comes to trying to wear a cooler fuchsia lipstick in a flat matte formula. Flashbacks of MAC Pink Pigeon and KVD K-Dub spring to mind as looking a bit clownish against my olive undertones.
Thank you, Nancy!! Definitely a deeper take on something like Pink Pigeon.
I do always love colors that make me look like I *just* ate a popsicle.
Just looking at those “suede” and similarly texture lipsticks creeps me out. I can’t imagine (if the days of trying things ever returns) even trying them – they just remind me of flocked wallpaper and the hair on my first Ken doll. Shudder!
Aww, they’re really velvety and smooth, I swear! It’s also less noticeable in person since these are macro shots!
I’m not a fan of matte lipsticks at the best of times although this one does look lovely on you. But it still looks like the texture of that Ken doll hair! (this is back in the 60’s!)
I’m glad that the formula worked better than the way the lipstick looked. I pictured you tugging that matte across your lips and making them sore. So it’s nice to know that the formula was much kinder than that.
It’s a vibrant shade for sure – not for me, but I think it’s a popular one.
I would have been all over this, but I am reformed and know I wouldn’t use it. I think this is absolutely stunning though.
This is a stunning color. I have dupes, though.
