Pat McGrath x Bridgerton Blushing Delights Palette Review & Swatches
Blushing Delights
Pat McGrath Blushing Delights Bridgerton Blush and Highlighter Palette ($60.00 for 0.26 oz.) includes one highlighter and three blushes in a new-for-the-brand baked powder formula. I’d love to see the return of the formula in the future, as baked products have died back a bit in recent years but often blend out beautifully on skin, like these did. The only “issue” I really had with the formula here was that the blushes were quite pigmented rather than buildable, so as long as you don’t mind higher coverage or using a lighter hand, it’s a nice formula. The packaging is as bulky as it looks as well.

Champagne Venus
Champagne Venus is a light-medium gold with warmer, slightly peach tones to it and a sparkling, moderately shiny finish. The consistency was soft, slightly drier and more powdery compared to the other shades, but I didn’t have any issues picking up product or blending it out on my skin. There were a few flyaway sparkles but nothing major. It had medium, buildable pigmentation, which made it the only shade that lived up to that part of the brand’s description. It lasted well for eight hours before fading visibly on me.

Formula Overview
-
The formula is supposed to have "mistake-proof buildability" with "vivid colour purity" and "multidimensional pearl finishes." They were quite pigmented rather than buildable, but the formula was smooth, blendable, and easy to work with--you'll just want to use a very light hand if sheerer, more buildable coverage is a must-have for you. The finish ranged from satiny to pearly, depending on the individual shade. They wore around eight hours on me.

Budding Romance
Budding Romance is a bright, medium-dark pink with subtle, warm undertones and cooler, fine pearl. The consistency was smooth, soft, and blendable with a touch of powderiness in the pan. It had opaque color payoff that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out well, but it was definitely more pigmented than described. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably on me.

Berry Brilliance
Berry Brilliance is a slightly muted, reddish-plum with subtle, warm undertones and a satin sheen. The blush had a more luminous sheen–but not overtly shimmery–when buffed and blended out on my skin. The consistency was lightweight, smooth, and thin but not powdery or dry, and it yielded mostly opaque coverage in a single layer, so I really had to use care to get more medium, buildable coverage as marketed. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading a bit on me.

Aphrodisia
Aphrodisia is a vivid, deeper pink-coral with subtle, warm undertones and lighter, contrasting gold pearl throughout. It had opaque color coverage in a single layer, so it had to be used with a lighter hand to actually achieve the buildable coverage marketed by the brand. Nonetheless, the texture was smooth, lightweight, and thin without being powdery, which made it easy to work with and diffuse on bare skin. It lasted well for eight hours before fading visibly on me.

Very pretty blushes, but the packaging and presentation.. ugh.
Pretty much exactly what I was going to say, Wednesday. And good grief – if you wanted to take this with you (an evening out or even an overnight trip) – how impractical!
My sentiments exactly, Wednesday!
Agree 100% with Wednesday’s comment. The packaging looks so cheap if I didn’t know better I would think this was a Too Faced product, it literally screams that gaudy Jerrod style.
Yes. I completely agree!
I also find it annoying that the pans aren’t in the center of the holes made for them. A minor thing for sure, but with the theme and the cost, I want perfection.
These all look amazing! Been thinking about getting this cheek thingy, but the very bulky packaging is a huge turn off for me. While I get that she wanted to give it that time period look, I hate anything that takes up far more space than is necessary. Plus, it looks cheap, too.
Ditto to all the comments about the bulk packaging although I like the look and theme. I don’t love the “brooch” in the center and they could have eliminated that and moved the colors closer and decreased the overall size, significantly. They could have put the detail on the top of the packaging. I doubt that Pat’s worried about or even thinking of downsizing packaging. The artwork seems more important to the brand than travel ease, waste or sustainability. Having said all of that, I love the colors and don’t mind working with super pigmentation on my cheeks. When you look at each shade individually, they are stunning. I just purchased the three pan from the first release and now wish that I had waited for this one but such is life!
This cheek palette reminds me of that Emerald Pretty palette of Tarantinos many years ago in its packaging nightmare – so unweildy and hard to store. What was Pat thinking here?
The blushes themselves are beautiful, particularly Aphrodisia – but the rest are way too dark for me.
These blushes look beautiful, but I agree with others that I couldn’t buy them because of the bulky packaging. I love Pat’s other blush trios and use them often! They are so handy to travel with. I end up using a very fluffy synthetic brush to get a soft diffused look because her blushes are so pigmented.
These blushes are so pretty, but your earrings are absolutely beautiful. May I kindly ask where you bought them, if possible? Greatly Appreciated! ππΌπππΌ
omg, you’re in luck! It took me 10 minutes to hunt around for a retailer with them in stock, lol!
They are the Kate Spade New Bloom Statement Earrings! Nordstrom still has them (sold out seemingly everywhere else).
I love Pat McGrath cosmetics!! I can buy total of the collection π!! So much crazy about her products!!
