NYX New Era, Neat Nude, Go Rogue Liquid Suede Metallic Mattes Reviews, Photos, Swatches
New Era
NYX New Era Liquid Suede Metallic Matte ($7.50 for 0.13 fl. oz.) is a dark bronze with warm undertones with a metallic sheen. It had rich pigmentation that covered the lips with smooth, even color coverage. The texture was thin, a little more emollient and “wet” in feel compared to other shades in the range, though still more of a mousse consistency than a liquid. There was a small amount of product that sat in my deeper lip lines as it dried down. It wore well for five and a half hours on me and was slightly drying over time.
The formula is supposed to be “plush and vibrant” with a “pigment-rich” liquid consistency and an “ultra-metallic” finish. The majority of the shades were semi-opaque to opaque in color coverage with the consistency being fairly mousse-like, so the product felt lightweight and spread well but didn’t run or get on the teeth easily. Some shades were more metallic from the get-go while others seemed to get more metallic after rubbing or patting lips slightly. They dried down to a transfer-proof finish but felt ever-so-slightly tacky at times. Based on the shades I’ve tested for wear, they are lasting between five and seven hours and are lightly drying. Between the metallic finish and the dry down, sometimes they seemed to emphasize lip lines and lip texture.

Neat Nude
NYX Neat Nude Liquid Suede Metallic Matte ($7.50 for 0.13 fl. oz.) is a dark, taupe-brown with subtle, warm undertones and a fine, metallic sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied evenly on the lips, and there was a smidgen of color that gathered in my deeper lip lines as it dried down. The consistency was thin, lightweight, and dried down quickly to a mostly matte, transfer-resistant finish. This shade stayed on well for five hours and was a bit drying.

Go Rogue
NYX Go Rogue Liquid Suede Metallic Matte ($7.50 for 0.13 fl. oz.) is a deep black with cool undertones and a pearly sheen. It had nearly opaque color coverage that applied evenly on the lips and dried down with minimal settling in my lip lines. The consistency was airy, lightweight, and more mousse-like than liquid, as it didn’t pool or run, but it still spread easily across my lips. It wore well for five and a half hours and was a touch drying overall.

Neat Nude and Go Rogue are definitely eye-catchers for me! Glad they did well!
Go Rogue is my fave from this set!
I’m surprised there aren’t any comments… it’s interesting to me that Neat Nude is named what it is, as I can’t think of any — even darker — skintones that this would be a “nude” on. It does seem designed for darker skintones, but I feel like a nude should be less relentlessly brown (like it should have at least the barest hint of plum, mauve, or pink).
Having said that, I like the color, but I can’t decide if I like the metallic matte look — sometimes I look at them and think “cool,” other times it’s “errrrr, no.”
And now that I’ve said that…
The more I look, the more it does seem to have plum undertones. Hard to tell.
It wasn’t posted for long before you commented, I don’t think! 🙂
Weird. I could swear I blew by this article a few days before I responded. I thought I was revisiting it. Losin’ it.
Next time I need to wear a black, I’m getting Go Rogue! Love the level of charcoal tone and sheen to it.
Me too! 🙂 It has a great tone to it.
These are gorgeous! I need Go Rogue in my life.
They are fun!
Awww man, I can’t believe Go Rogue received such a high rating! Sweet! It was on my list to pick up next time I’m at Ulta.
Woohoo! 😀
I saw this, opened a browser window, and ordered Neat Nude right away. Thanks for the review. It’s beautiful.
Must have been love 🙂 Hope you enjoy it, Pixie!
Go Rogue is probably the coolest looking black lipstick I have ever seen! Just gorgeous!
But my favorite and the one that went directly on to my WL is Neat Nude. Just greige enough without having a super gray cast to it. It just looks rich!
It is such a cool shade, Nancy! Really fun to wear.
Neat Nude is a neat color!
Haha 😉
Love that New Era lip creme shade. The MUA at our local budget beauty spot – Priceline here in Aus., told me yesterday that they are getting the new lip cremes in within a month or so. I can’t believe they are getting these in so quickly. Usually we are more than 6 months behind. I was so thrilled.
Ooh, can’t wait for them to arrive, Genevieve! That’s fast!
these were the three i was most interested in when i saw your sneak peek .
glad they performed well .
i especially love new era & neat nude .
i thought neat nude was close to maybelline’s molten bronze , but i used your side-by-side comparison & it’s much darker & more purple .
