Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Now On for Cardholders!

If you’re a cardholder, you can shop the Anniversary Sale now, and if you’re not, you can at least take a peek at all the items available for the official start on July 21st.

It’s one of the few sales that I really look forward to each year personally, as I do a fair amount of personal shopping at Nordstrom throughout the year, but I try to use the sale as a way to keep my budget in check.

My Beauty Recommendations

From what’s available and of products that I’ve tried in the past (or have a high level of confidence in due to past releases!), here are my top picks! For me, the absolute standout is the simplehuman Rose Gold Pro Mirror for $167.50, regularly $250. It’s an amazing mirror, which I reviewed here, and I’ve never seen it discounted so much.

My Beauty Buys

Here are the products that I purchased and will pick up locally when my order is ready! As applicable, I hope to review some of the new sets shortly.

My Non-Beauty Buys

Here’s what I’m picking up from the sale more personally πŸ™‚ I tend not to keep everything I buy, but we shall see how things fit!

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I’m hoping against hope that the Hourglass palette stays in stock! And also the Diptyque candle set, which I want to get for my mom’s birthday. I’m not a cardholder, but I think she is, but I can’t very well ask her to pick up her own birthday gift!

Well, if it’s any help, I haven’t been able to check out for the last hour and a half, LOL! I was able to place an order earlier this AM (beauty stuff), but I haven’t been able to get my cart to load consistently since :/

What’s the benefit of using a fancy mirror like this to apply makeup, when most of the time you’re not going to be in such good lighting the rest of the time? I’m definitely not trying to be sassy – just get an understanding!

Hi Emily,

Did you read my review that’s linked above? I use the mirror every day myself and stated the type of light I use it in! πŸ™‚ The mirror allows you to change the lighting to adjust for whatever particular setting you want, whether that’s an office, outdoors, or whatever, but the lighting isn’t “good” in the sense that it is flattering or softening. It’s accurate light that’s bright enough to see details and texture on the face to ensure blended application and doesn’t overheat. Whether I had a mirror like this or not, I have long preferred to apply makeup with natural light (daylight), and this helps me achieve that without relying on windows or the position of the sun!

Hi Christine! I had read your review previously πŸ™‚ My application style is more of a slap it on and hope it looks ok on the run routine, so I guess I was looking for reasons to spend money that would probably be better spent elsewhere. Thanks for your reply!

To add to what Christine also mentioned, as someone with impaired vision the magnification and bright light really aids in my makeup application.

I want to make a purchase, but can’t do anything on the website but browse. My cart isn’t even accessible. I try really hard not to complain about website glitches, especially during sales and specials, but I expect more from Nordstrom.

I picked up the two Charlotte Tilbury l kits in Nude and Pink, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, Dior Addicted to Pink lip set, and the Jo Malone Cologne set.

And then I went back and got the Simple Human mirror.

I have about five other things I want but i must stop.

I went a little crazy, lol.

I only meant to get the mirror. Then added the Hourglass. Then today I bought the Nars nude lip pencil set, the CT bronze and blush, the Tom Ford set. Help!

I was just at Nordstrom on my lunch break and they literally had only two Simple Human mirrors left. I only got mine because a woman who was there 10 minutes before me decided not to purchase them since they were in a color she didn’t like. They are selling like hotcakes! I also picked up the Hourglass palette which looks really nice and the Nars mulitiple mini’s and ordered the CT Blush and Glow (there were none in the store). I’m refraining from making more purchases but its so tempting!

OMG; the clothing!!! I love that short black jacket with the asymmetrical zipper, the tulip bottom teal-green top and the magenta t-shirt!😍

That Guerlain powder looks like a potentially lust-worthy one!

Thanks Christine for your recommendations! The Simple Human mirror is so tempting but I have to wait and see I have a lot on my Nordstrom card right now but I do have a couple of Nordstrom rewards to use. I recently purchased so many necklaces and bracelets from HSN during their birthday month I think I need to give it a rest; but if there is one thing I would get it is the mirror! Hope the cute tops you purchased work out love the one by O’neil.

If you’re really patient, sometimes Bed, Bath, & Beyond have coupons that apply to the mirror, but they’re usually for in-store use only! It sounds like you have plenty of new goodies to keep you busy πŸ™‚

I keep looking at the mirror too,
it was offered on Prime day, but basically same as BBB, so I passed,
what’s different about the nord one
besides the rose gold?

you know, I feel like it’s clear and magnified but not like WHOA! too much. Then again, I might just be used to seeing my face larger than it is in real life between using the mirror for so long and taking close-up photos πŸ˜‰

I purchased the makeup mirror simplehuman. I was awake at 3 am lol! I didn’t see the hourglass palette but I have one and use it everyday for finishing.

I bought some cute sandals but not on sale. Maybe I’ll go look at the makeup😌

I just read your previous review of the Simple Human mirror and it sounds amazing. Hopefully they do some sort of deal on it around Christmas this year so I can get it then.

It was difficult to make a purchase today, the Nordstrom.com website kept crashing, and the phone was continually busy – very, very frustrating. I was finally able to get: the same Vince Camuto top that you got, plus; Maison Margiela Beach Walk Perfumed Shower Gel, Rockport Cobb Hill Bethany Boot (Women), Gibson Tie Front Cozy Fleece Pullover (Regular & Petite), Pajar Samara Waterproof Insulated Boot with Faux Fur Lining (Women), and Vince Camuto Pleat Front Blouse,

Yeah, it was brutal trying to check out! I was able to get my order on beauty stuff through no problem, but trying to get my 2nd order in (personal items), nope!

I got quite a bit this year, but the only beauty type thing I got was the mirror! Some buys were outside of the anniversary-sale area too. But all in all, it was a great shopping day for me.

I got the 2 for $35 deal on Paula’s Choice 2% BHA and paisley velvet boots. Then there was this black, lace off the shoulder shirt that wasn’t on sale, but I couldn’t resist! πŸ™‚

I got the mirror! Nars Cheek palette, and Kiel’s hand salve for $10. I don’t need any clothes. But I’ll probably go back and pick up some birthday presents for my twins

I have to wait for the public access but am eyeing the Tom Ford eye set. I read Christine’s review of Escapade, which pre-dates my time knowing the brand. I may pick up the Nars Multiples mini set and trying to resist the CT bronze and blush as I’m planning to pick up CT’s new eyeshadow palette when released in August.

Christine, did you know that the Tom Ford set has the Escapade cream color? Is it still one of your favorites? I’m so tempted, but it’s not really a deal – same price as a cream color and mascara together, but you get a free .03 oz lipstick. I have that lipstick (do love) and most likely won’t use or love the mascara (I only use tubing). But Escapade!

I just got the mirror delivered ( nordys is so fast!) and I really love it! It’s such a great deal! You can see very clearly with it.

Thanks Christine so much for your review and pointing out it was on sale. Honestly your awesome !

Now I need that dyson hair drier on sale😝

Oh, I am happy you love it, Janine! It is a pricey mirror to begin with (and still expensive, even at 33% off!) so I am relieved to hear you’re enjoying it.
