Fleur Fatale

NARS Fleur Fatale Erdem Strange Flowers Eyeshadow Palette ($49.00 for 0.42 oz.) is new, limited edition six-pan palette that includes three taupe-ish shades along with a deep gray, warm plum, and pale gold. All six shades were easy to work with, pigmented, and long-wearing, which made this a breeze to test.

Mythos

Mythos is a pale gold with warm, yellow undertones and a metallic sheen. The consistency was slightly powdery and more loosely-pressed in the pan compared to the others, so there was some excess product kicked up in the pan. As long as I made sure to tap off excess, it was easy to work with and yielded opaque pigmentation in a single layer. The eyeshadow wore well for eight hours on me.

Thistle

Thistle is a light-medium, golden taupe with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. The pigmentation was opaque, while the texture was smooth, soft, and blendable without being too softly or too firmly pressed in the pan. It lasted for eight hours before fading noticeably on me.

Flourish

Flourish is a medium-dark gray with cooler, blue undertones and a frosted sheen. It had good color coverage that was buildable to full coverage with just a touch more layered on top. The texture was soft, slightly dry to the touch, but it blended out easily and stayed on well for eight hours on me.

Belladonna

Belladonna is a muted, medium taupe with neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. The color payoff was decent, though it needed two to three layers to be fully opaque on the lid. The texture was smooth, velvety, and slightly powdery in the pan, but there was good density to the product on the lid, so it did not go on unevenly nor did it sheer out too readily over bare skin. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me.

Daydream

Daydream is a medium-dark taupe with warmer undertones and a metallic sheen. The pigmentation was good, while the texture was smooth, dense without being too firmly pressed in the pan, and felt almost cream-like to the touch. It applied evenly and blended out with little effort. The color started to fade on me after eight hours of wear.

Holly Hock

Holly Hock is a medium-dark, reddened plum with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had excellent color payoff in a single layer that applied evenly to bare skin. The consistency was soft without being dusty, and it adhered well to bare skin and blended out out effortlessly. This shade stayed on well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

So this is the eye shadow palette I decided to go with from this collection. Glad to see it has scored well. I try to never purchase anything until waiting for reviews and this palette didn’t immediately wow me but after seeing a couple of tutorials using it and how effortlessly they got a nice everyday look, I decided to take the plunge. I have been sweating the review since I haven’t received the product yet. I was won over by how easily blendable the shades appeared and the burgundy shade was kind of the shade that pushed me over the edge. Can’t wait to play with it. Thank you, Christine.

I like the color story here, but overall I think three browns out of six is too many. However I am inspired to recreate something similar using singles in a spare z-palette. I am thinking MUG Shimma Shimma, ABH Sangria, MAC Saddle, and one of my zillion shimmery taupes. (I have a problem.)

I think this is such a nice color combination… Neutral but with a bit of color. Nice for people who don’t want really bright colors but are craving something beyond the usual specific warm neutral theme that has been dominating the palette scene lately.

I am so pleased this did well. Loving your eye look here, might have to pick up that highlighting pencil too! (Hopefully this will be around in a bit…I would like to wait for a bit after the Sephora sale. We’ll see.) Thanks for all your hard work!

Wow – this is stunning on several levels – the shades are all suited to cool toned customers, they are of excellent quality and for once, NARS has given them decent names.
Your eye look is beautiful and I just love this palette – every single shade.

Sorry if this has been answered somewhere, but Christine can you tell me what is the light purple color that you have on your inner eye/lower lash line? It is so pretty!

This is REALLY nice and I’m pleasantly surprised – I was expecting to be disappointed (I guess a “hold over” from the crummy MAC palettes of the last few days). I have multiple (embarrassingly so) dupes for every shadow in this palette, with the exception of Hollyhock, so might try to give this a pass but then again, the old “how nice to have them all in one place” refrain starts to play in my head…. This looks like a great travel palette, as well as being perfect for a variety of every day/office appropriate/weekend easy looks.

Here comes a bad influence! lol 🙂

I’m in for this palette. I don’t know why, but this has turned my head big time. I think it’s just gorgeous (the entire collection, actually) and, like you say, nice to have in one place. I’m doing a ton of work travel through the summer and I think this will be a staple.

I’m going to get this and the “Love me not” blush. I have nothing in that range and it could be lovely on it’s own or layered, I bet.

I haven’t been posting much since I’ve not bought anything but skincare in a while (OK the Viseart Absinthe palette was another breakdown). But I have been holding back and considering this for days, and when something gnaws at me this much I’ll give it a go.

Oh – very good “enabling”! I’m waiting to see what this ends up costing here in The Great White North but if it comes to Sephora (instore), there is a very high likelihood I too will have my head turned (heck, I’ll be like the little girl in The Exorcist – my head will be spinning around 360 degrees!)

Hi Christine and fellow beauty enthusiasts, hope everyone is well!

Does anyone know if this is going to be available at Nordstrom’s or Neiman’s, etc? Or is it just a NARS exclusive collection?

Thank you all in advance!

Christine Avatar

I think it will be since I recall the NARS’ customer email that got blasted out saying they had the exclusive until the end of the month. The press release only listed NARS, though, but I find that common enough within the industry that it’s not necessarily *only* their (MAC’s probably the only one that is specific to just their stores/site if it isn’t going to other retailers).

I know that NARS did list that the launch would be at Saks NYC on May 11th (Erdem will be there for an appearance).
