Marc Jacobs No Angel Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as an “apricot nude.” It’s a muted, medium peachy-brown with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had a really creamy, smooth consistency that applied without tugging and left behind even, opaque color. Though it didn’t wear for the ten hours promised, it did go on for six and a half hours, which is good for this type of color. It was neither drying nor hydrating on me. Estee Lauder Covetous Nude (P, $32.00) is lighter (95% similar). Bobbi Brown Uber Beige (DC, $37.00) is glossier (95% similar). Bite Beauty Honeycomb (DC, $26.00) is lighter (90% similar). Hourglass I'll Never Stop (P, $34.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Urban Decay Uptight (DC, $18.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). ColourPop Strip (P, $7.00) is brighter, cooler (95% similar). Shiseido Dusky Honey (BE323) (DC, $28.00) is darker (90% similar). MAC Impulsive (P, $22.00) is less shimmery, darker, warmer (90% similar). ColourPop Slow Down (LE, $7.00) is lighter (90% similar). Marc Jacobs Sonic Truth Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “creamy nude.” It’s a light-medium pinky-beige with warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had mostly opaque color payoff, but the consistency was creamier and more emollient than other shades in the range (which have a more satiny feel overall), so it didn’t apply as evenly as a result. It lasted for five hours on me and was very lightly hydrating. Bite Beauty Sugarcane (DC, $26.00) is darker, cooler (95% similar). NYX French Kiss (P, $6.00) is darker (95% similar). Charlotte Tilbury Kim K.W. (P, $37.00) is lighter (95% similar). Bobbi Brown Pale Mauve (DC, $37.00) is more shimmery, darker, warmer (90% similar). MAC Give In (LE, $19.00) is lighter, brighter, warmer (90% similar). MAC Pleasure's All Mine (LE, $20.00) is cooler (90% similar). MAC Love U Back (P, $19.00) is warmer (90% similar). ColourPop Ace (LE, $7.00) is brighter (90% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Spiced Honey (P, $57.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Shiseido Hushed Tones (RD713) (DC, $28.00) is darker (85% similar). Estee Lauder Desirable (P, $32.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Addison (P, $36.00) is darker (85% similar). Cle de Peau Bamboo (P, $65.00) is darker, more muted (85% similar). Marc Jacobs Slow Burn Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “creamy nude rose.” It’s a muted, medium rosy pink with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had rich, opaque pigmentation with a smooth, lightweight, and creamy texture that glided on effortlessly and yielded smooth, even color. This shade wore for six hours on me and was lightly drying. Urban Decay Local (P, $19.00) is darker, cooler, glossier (95% similar). MAC Mmmmmm (LE, $19.00) is darker (95% similar). Smashbox Audition (P, $21.00) is glossier (95% similar). FORMULA OVERVIEW | Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Creme ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) claims 10-hour wear with “vivid pigment” and a “rich, velvety” texture that is “ultra-hydrating.” As you might expect, they don’t last ten hours; they last four to six hours with some leaving a stain. The texture is lightweight, creamy, and glides on without dragging or tugging on the lip, but it doesn’t have a lot of slip so it stays in place. The formula isn’t hydrating, and it can be drying, depending on the shade. The lipstick had a sweet, floral scent, but it was very subtle, even when smelled directly from the tube.

Hi Nancy 🙂 Have you tried Nars Audacious in Vanessa? If you like Anita, you will like Vanessa. It’s one of the seven shades that are exclusive to Nars and Barney’s which is kind of a pain and the two shades are thisclose but there’s just something about Vanessa that makes it special. I’m on my 2nd tube which is kind of amazing considering…. Well you are a beauty junkie too… You know lol

Sorry for making that confusing. The exclusives are available on Barney’s website, Nars website, and at both companies brick & mortar stores. I keep hoping they will just release them to Sephora already!

Are the Le Marc Lip Cremes getting mediocre ratings mostly because they wear a shorter time than the promised 10 hours? Like, would No Angel have gotten an A if it had lasted for 10 hours?

These all make you look SO HEALTHY! And they look great with the light touch of BB’s Bikini Bronzer. Have to admit that name gives me a slight head shake. Bikini as an adjective, rather than a noun, has a certain connotation…… and it’s nowhere above the neck….

Think you’d like Sake. On me, it’s substantially mauve-ier than on Christine. But it does lean neutral cool, not pink on me. Btw, if you didn’t get Ciate Smouldering yet, it, too belongs on your wish list. Personally, I’m not nuts about amuse bouche. It’s sensitivity-related, not application/ratings criteria. I get a slightly inflamed feeling along the vermillion border, esp. on top. Same with the spring fling mini trio. The primer that came with it is not irritating. Not liking something can be a real good thing. Write ’em off and save dough.

I’ve had Slow Burn in my Sephora cart a couple of times, but haven’t purchased. The color is a nice everyday color for me and I like that it’s longer-lasting. Sort of wishing it would have received an “A”, that would have made my decision a smidge easier. Thank you for reviewing!

Hi Bonnie. The color, finish, and feel of these lipsticks are amazing!! I’m in love with Slow Burn. Personally, I don’t care if lipsticks wear for 10 hours. I need to eat within 10 hours and most lipsticks contain toxins so I wipe off my lipstick before I eat or drink and then reapply it. Buy Slow Burn! The formula is like Nars Audacious!

I was waiting for someone to review these. I purchased Slow Burn and Sonic Truth during the ViB sale. I’m in love with both and I think that the formula is very much like the Nars Audacious formula. I’m surprised about the so-so review. I actually returned Bite’s Sake because I liked Slow Burn much better.

Hi Christine. I am a long time fan of yours and I know that you are famous and all, but I found your reply to be a bit rude.

How about this?

Hi, thank you for posting your opinion….as noted above, blah blah blah. Be kind to other opinions.

Christine Avatar

Hi!

I think this is just a misreading of my comment 🙂 We agree, actually, so there is actually not a differing of an opinion here… I honestly think that ending things with a period gets taken as rude, unfortunately! I was simply stating that the rating is really low because I hold them their 10-hour wear time, and they don’t really come close to it for me. Otherwise, the formula is good — you can see it has strong marks in the other areas, so again, we don’t disagree so I have nothing against what you said at all!

I think I missed the memo when Temptalia started doing this – but is the 2nd swatch powder? Or stamped by a napkin or something

So weird! I have Slow Burn and it pulls a touch mauve-grey on my lips while looking as described when swatched on my hand. A bit annoying but I’ll work with it as I like the feel of this lipstick.

BonnieBBon Avatar

Welp that settles that. Slow Burn, welcome to my life. I only have one other Marc Jacobs lipstick so ordering this isn’t indulgent. Nope. Not at all. :::side eye:::
