Marc Jacobs Beauty Tan-tastic Glo O!Mega x Three Palette Review & Swatches
Tan-tastic Glo
Marc Jacobs Beauty Tan-tastic Glo O!Mega x Three Powder Blush-Bronze-Highlighter Palette ($49.00 for 0.86 oz.) is a new, limited edition trio that includes a matte blush, matte bronzer, and shimmery highlighter. Though I’ve found myself enjoying most of the brand’s recent cheek products, the trio was a miss; the bronzer wasn’t as good as the standalone version, while the blush was decent, but the highlighter was disappointing.

Tan-tastic Glo (Blush)
Tan-tastic Glo (Blush) is a light-medium, coral-orange with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was silky-smooth, finely-milled, and fairly blendable, though it was a little powdery in the pan. It applied evenly and had semi-opaque, buildable color coverage that stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Tan-tastic Glo (Blush)
LELimited Edition.
Tan-tastic (Trio)
Tan-tastic (Trio) is a light brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. Though it was intended to be the same as the original release, it was significantly lighter and less neutral/rose-toned. The texture was soft, velvety, and finely-milled, but it was more powdery and appeared slightly dry on my skin. It didn’t blend out as evenly as I expected, even over set foundation. It lasted for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

Tan-tastic Glo (Highlighter)
Tan-tastic Glo (Highlighter) is a light gold with moderate, warm undertones–it looked more orange in the pan than it appeared on my skin, which was much yellower. The texture was firmer, denser, and thicker, which resulted in a powder that was hard to pick up on a brush and didn’t adhere as evenly or as readily to my skin. It blended out decently, but it had a low-level sheen despite looking more intense in the pan. The highlighter had semi-opaque, buildable coverage that wore well for eight hours.

What a bust! First if all; the weird shade compilation. That gold highlighter just doesn’t match up so well with the light peach blush and light bronzer. It looks very out of place and awkward. And then there’s the whole quality issue, too. This is not MJ’s usual fantastic cheek product.
I agree with Nancy – that highly pigmented gold highlighter just does not mix it with the rest of the blush/bronzer shades – it is just too ‘goldy’
Okay – now I am up to four brands that delivered dud products this week (UD for Wild West; Tom Ford for Insolent Rose; MJ for these substandard cheek trios and DM for the poor foil eyeshadow creams).
Marc Jabobs, for all their experience in putting out fabulous cheek products, should know better than this.
I would’ve been SO into this if the highlighter was a little more neutral (something more like Mary Lou) and I guess if the bronzer was blendable (I’m fine with the tone). Thank goodness for Temptalia! Money saved.
Oof, this packaging is gorgeous though. The overall performance may be relatively sub-par, but not like offensively so… I’m pretty into it tbh.
