Marc Jacobs Allow Me, Boom, Rebel Rebel Enamored Lip Lacquers Reviews & Swatches
Allow Me (302)
Marc Jacobs Beauty Allow Me (302) Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer ($29.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a medium, warmer-toned pink base with flecks of gold sparkle throughout. The consistency was smooth, more like a gel-cream, that was plush to wear but not heavy or too tacky. It had medium coverage, which applied fairly evenly over my lips and smoothed out a lot of my lip lines. It stayed on well for four hours and felt hydrating over time.

Formula Overview

It is supposed to have "maximum color and brilliance" and "shine like 30 coats of lacquer." The formula has a mint scent but not much flavor from what I could detect. While the brand's general description is "maximum color," they seem to modify that with individual shade descriptions as several shades are specifically described as "opaque" and a few are noted as "sheer" with the remainder having no specific coverage descriptor (as of April/May 2020).
This seems to suggest that the rest are neither sheer nor opaque but somewhere in-between--I would lean toward "semi-opaque" to be closer to "maximum color," though I really think that's quite confusing to the customer. It would make more sense to simply describe it as a range of sheer to opaque shades or that they're medium coverage (as a whole).
The coverage ranged from semi-sheer to opaque with a fair amount of shades between medium and semi-opaque payoff in a single layer, and they do have a very high-shine finish that makes my lips look more voluminous.
The consistency was smooth, like a creamy gel as it was a bit thicker (without being heavy or tacky), and very easy to spread across my lips. It was comfortable to wear and moisturizing over time. Some shades smoothed out my lip lines, though it wasn't consistent throughout the range as a few settled into them (usually paler, milkier shades).

Boom (306)
Marc Jacobs Beauty Boom (306) Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer ($29.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a medium-dark raspberry with subtle, cool undertones and barely-there purple pearl. It had more of a glossy, jelly-like finish as it didn’t really translate as a shimmery gloss in practice.
The consistency was lightweight, smooth, and mostly non-sticky, so it spread easily over my lips, but the medium coverage made it difficult to get even application of the color. There were areas where it was heavier and some that sank into my deeper lip lines, though not too noticeable in person. It wore well for five hours and felt moisturizing while worn.

Rebel Rebel (308)
Marc Jacobs Beauty Rebel Rebel (308) Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer ($29.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark coral with warm undertones and pink and gold pearl throughout. It had good color coverage in a single layer, which applied evenly across my lips without settling into lip lines (in fact, the formula smoothed out a lot of my lip lines!). The texture was smooth, spreadable, and plush without being heavy or too tacky, so it was comfortable to wear. It lasted nicely for five hours and felt hydrating while worn.

Rebel Rebel is sublime! Reminds me a little of Fenty Gloss Bomb in Universal Glow, but deeper. I’d still get it, though.
Allow Me is also wowing me over! It just looks so airy without being milky or too light.
So Boom is quite nice. I just recently said that I don’t wear much of this type of hybrid lip product but I do like that shade. Hard to judge just what level of stickiness I can tolerate when I can’t test it so likely won’t pick it up anytime soon. I really don’t need another lip product and in these days when I am wearing a mask when out, I really don’t need it. Although, I did put on a full face of makeup and went to town the other day. I put lipstick on and when I got home it wasn’t smeared and not a mark on my mask. I expected to have a pink smear over my lower face.
I love Rebel Rebel! I think it must adapt to different skin tones and undertones, because on my lips it shows up as dark raspberry pink -similar to Sephora’s description of it as “blue-raspberry shimmer”.
Love all three but Rebel, Rebel iss my favorite.
