Daredevil
Makeup Geek Daredevil Plush Lip Matte ($12.00 for 0.06 fl. oz.) is a bright, medium purple with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentatin one layer, but it would be buildable to opaque coverage with two layers (the consistency would get slippery, though). The texture felt very smooth, velvety, and spread across the lips with ease, but it did my lip lines no favors and appeared “cracked” around them. This shade lasted for four and a half hours, left a fuchsia stain behind, and did not feel drying while worn.
The formula is supposed to be a “cross between a cream and a mousse” that is “highly pigmented” with a “soft matte” finish. The consistency has an incredibly velvety, creamy feel without being slippery or wet, so it felt very smooth going on the lips and lightweight. I liked the way it felt on the lips for an hour or so of wear, but after testing about half of the range, they did not wear down well with an uneven fade and significant color in lip lines. While traditional liquid lipstick can dry and look “cracked,” I noticed that despite feeling quite forgiving, the finish often was not as lip color settled into and separated away from lip lines. The formula wasn’t designed to dry down to a flat, matte finish, and it does not, so the transfer was similar to that of a traditional, satin-finished tube lipstick for me. On me, the liquid lipsticks have lasted between four and six hours on me. They seem mostly non-drying on but seemed more drying as I wore them, particularly if I wore two in a row, which would leave my lips feeling raw. Just a heads up, each tube contains a surprisingly small amount of product (0.06 fl. oz.) relative to a lot of popular liquid lipstick formulas (Kat Von D contains 0.22 fl. oz., Anastasia contains 0.11 fl. oz., Smashbox contains 0.13 fl. oz., Stila contains 0.10 fl. oz., MAC contains 0.17 fl. oz.).

Party Girl
Makeup Geek Party Girl Plush Lip Matte ($12.00 for 0.06 fl. oz.) is medium-dark purple with warm, pink undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage with a very grainy consistency that added a layer of texture to my lips along with color that settled in some lip lines. The texture was thicker, and while it spread without problems, it felt odd to wear, like the consistency was poorly mixed to begin with. The color lasted for four hours, left a stain behind, and was drying after I removed it.

Bachelorette
Makeup Geek Bachelorette Plush Lip Matte ($12.00 for 0.06 fl. oz.) is bright, neon fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a satin finish. It had rich, opaque color coverage with a very smooth, velvety texture that didn’t feel heavy on the lips. The downside was that the color separated around lip lines, giving the illusion of “cracked” lips, even though it was not a formula that dries down to a matte finish (it remains movable with some slip). On me, the color lasted for six hours, left a pinky-red stain behind, and while it didn’t feel drying on, my lips felt really raw shortly after removing it.

Wow, these are bright! I need sunglasses
Haha!
Super fun colors!
They were!
Very easy, pleazy pass on all 3. That cracked look combined with fairly neon shades would make me look even more the crazy cat lady than I already am! ?
Why settle for “cracked” lips without the wear of a true matte, LOL.
Oh my!!! The graininess is apparent in the lip swatches. 🙁 Too bad these didn’t deliver, especially compared to the Burberry releases you’re also testing.
It’s sooo bizarre!
A shame about the texture, as the colors are stunning. Party Girl looks downright grainy in the close up.
Right? I don’t know why any of them are grainy!
Feeling raw?!?! How terrible.
My lips do not seem to agree with the formula!
I love your earrings in these pictures — so gorgeous! And thanks for your honest reviews, as always.
Thank you!
