Makeup Geek Eyeshadow
Makeup Geek Bake Sale Eyeshadow ($6.00 for 0.064 oz.) is a muted, medium brown with warmer undertones and a matte finish. The consistency was soft, smooth, and very blendable on the skin; it felt a touch dusty in the pan, but it didn’t translate that way on the lid and was effortless to use. Formula Overview
Makeup Geek Eyeshadow ($6.00 for 0.064 oz.) is a powder formula that is supposed to be “highly pigmented.” They come in a variety of finishes and shades, and the range has some winners but more than a few misses, too, so your mileage may vary from shade to shade. The formula tends to be softer and a little more powdery/dusty as they are not as firmly pressed into their pans, but they aren’t typically crumbly or so loose that they are prone to breakage. I find the more shimmery shades to be the most consistent in pigmentation, blendability, and wear, while the more neutral-hued matte shades are often finely milled, blendable, and easy to use. The brighter pops of color, both shimmer and more matte, can run the gamut on quality. Some shades are better built-up than immediately opaque, which can suit some application styles better. The wear tends to fall between seven and eight hours as some shades are more prone to fading as a result of the dustier texture. (Note: this applies to their standard powder formula, not their Foiled line, which is a different formulation.)

Makeup Geek Eyeshadow | Look Breakdown
I love an all-over wash of brown… glad they have some options for undertones in this release!
It’s a good mix of shades!
I was thinking the same thing. Not that I would buy all these brown tones but a small selection of them for the ones that would work for me.
YESSS omg i am soo happy been waiting and keeping my fingers crossed for the review 😀 so happy they did well been having my eye on them
Happy to help!
Lovely! Somehow it makes me so happy to see that the quality is so consistently good 🙂
Me too!
Ooh Lucky Penny is so pretty and it rated well!
I hope Makeup Geek eyeshadows are turning for the better again, I’d love to purchase from them without having to hope I didn’t order any misses.
Here’s hoping!!
Lucky Penny is nice but it’s all too warm for me.
Bummer! 🙁
Sure, I have probably enough neutrals; on the other hand, I don’t have dupes for Lucky Penny, Sidekick and Bake Sale, the ones I like in this listing. I’ve gotten compliments wearing Riff, the UD medium warm brown, since it makes my blue eyes pop, so I may explore further into warm neutrals further and at this low cost, why not.
These are some of the brand’s better eyeshadows in recent memory!
OOH these all are colors I’m really into right now! Usually I don’t bother with much eye makeup but I’ve been really into bronzey clay colors on the eyes lately.
Perfect timing 😀
Pocket Change is my fave here! Lucky Penny is well named
That’s exactly what I thought about Lucky Penny!
Wow! These are really nice and make for a lovely bronzy smokey eye! Too bad I’m duped out up to the gills in exactly these types of shades, but that’s to be expected when one of my favorite looks on myself is a bronzy smokey eye, eh? ?
Hey, that’s money saved 😉
Glad to see high marks on theses! I think I’m just to get going to get Pocket Change. I really like Lucky Penny but it’s too close of a dupe to Sable.
Hope Pocket Change works out for you, Megan!
Pocket Change and Tan lines are so so beautiful!!!
They are!
Bake Sale and Sidekick I have to get! Love.
Hope you love ’em, Nora!
The look you created for this is beautiful!
Thank you, Sarah!
These are everyday neutral, warm toned staples. A great rating for those who don’t have these shades (although I can’t think of anyone in the beauty community who doesn’t!). Gorgeous eye look Christine. one that could easily be worn to work.
They are! It is nice to see them expand their core range.
So glad these tested well. Mine are on their way!
Yay! Enjoy, Muniav!
Nice basic colours. I quite like Lucky Penny and Bake Sale.
It’e been a long tiome since I ordered anything from MG, maybe it’s time to add some new eyeshadows to that half empty palette 🙂
So true – they’re good basics, but I’m glad they did well!
Glad to see the mattes are doing well! Their original formula was my all time favorite matte eyeshadow formula (for example Cocoa Bear, Latte, Creme Brulee, and Peach Smoothie are must-haves for me) but the last few releases have been disappointing. I’m very happy to see them back on track.
Yep – they have some great mattes but a lot of duds (particularly non-neutrals) – pleased with these overall.
PRetty warm eye look Christine! None of these shades individually are speaking to me though. Actually none of the new shades are And that’s rare for me!
Well, your wallet will be happy 😉
