FORMULA OVERVIEW | Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.12 oz.) is supposed to be long-wearing, “extremely pigmented,” and hydrating. It is available in two finishes–Cream and Matte, indicated by the C or M in the beginning of each shade’s name. The Cream formula is richly pigmented, lightly creamy without being too emollient or slippery, and go on smoothly and feel good while worn (wear ranges from four to eight hours, depending on the shade). The Matte formula is thinner and clings somewhat to lips, though it goes on nicely and doesn’t tug, and it doesn’t always look flattering on as it can emphasize imperfections on my lips but really depends on the shade, as some look great on. I found the Cream formula to be moderately hydrating, while the Matte formula was slightly to moderately drying. All shades had a slight, rosy scent to them, though I didn’t notice any taste.

C211 is like a lipstick arrow aiming straight for my wallet. Dammit. Territory well covered by my stash, but I still feel the point of that arrow.
I know the feeling, haha!
I had not put C211 on my radar, but now she is! I don’t own any similar shades other than Maybelline Touch of Spice but that is warmer for sure.
I’m not surprised I also like C302 as I own Brigitte & Fiesta and Julie is on my wishlist. Might pick this one up too.
Oooh, glad you found one that isn’t in your stash already! 🙂
I’m putting C211 on my buy list -it looks like a nice rosy pink that won’t clash with my yellow undertones
It’s a pretty one! I hope it works for you.
Oh yes! Three hits for me, pretty! Glad to see they all get A’s.
Woohoo!
I’m glad these are scoring as well as they are; I’ve developed an appreciation for MUFE in general, and was concerned when the new eyeliner series underperformed earlier this year. I’m going to swatch C303 in-store, it looks like it could suit my fair warm skin tone, and see what happens.
Thankfully, their lipsticks are turning out to be great!
Completely in love with the 211… “sigh”
Aww!
It just figures that I would LOVE C211 and C303. I’m in dupesville over here for both. Have MAC Modesty and Cosmo, Maybelline Touch Of Spice, MAC Vegas Volt and some others that seems fairly close on my wishlist: UD Wired, Tampered (LOVE!) and Ravenswood.
As for the lighter coral, C302, I wonder whether I could pull off such a light, bright coral? I have MAC Reel Sexy, it looks decent, but this appears lighter than that, Idk.?
You have some great dupes, too!
I’ve been trying to ask MUFE if they have a dupe for they’re #31 lipstick in the new line and have been completely ignored, but looks like 211 might be similar, hopefully.
Fingers crossed #211 is close!
303 was softer on than I imagined it would be.
I don’t know if that’s good or bad!
I love C211. The corals are pretty, but they look a bit thin.
C211 is nice!
Um, is it bad that I have 10 of the dupes for C-211? And that I want C211? I think I have a problem…..
LOL!
302 and 303 Are absolutely my colours. Especially 303. You have the new urban Decay wired in your dupe List. I have wired and on me the colour looked Different and Overall I was not so happy with it, how it looked on the lips and it was a Little bit drying. Which one Do you like more, the urban Decay or the makeup forever one ? the one from makeup forever Looks Like it is more Creamy. Thank you very much.
I prefer a glossier finish, so I like Wired more myself! But if UD’s formula was drying, then I am not sure how this will work for you!
Mercy. C211 is bloody gorgeous! It’s exactly the kind of shade I’m drawn to these days. I’m going to throw that in my Sephora basket right now….
Hope it works well for you, Cathy! xo
