MAC All I Want Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “champagne shimmer.” It’s a light, peachy gold with warm undertones and a frosted, metallic sheen. MAC Warm Companion (LE, $19.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Graham (P, $36.00) is more shimmery, cooler (95% similar). NARS Redemption (LE, $29.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Maybelline White Gold (P, $7.49) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Chanel Beige Dore (126) (LE, $37.00) is less shimmery, less pigmented (90% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Eddie (DC, $36.00) is less shimmery, cooler (90% similar). MAC Just Beaming (LE, $19.00) is less shimmery, less pigmented, cooler (90% similar). Tom Ford Beauty David (DC, $36.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). ColourPop Lights Out (P, $6.00) is darker (90% similar). MAC Spoiled Fabulous (P, $19.00) is more shimmery, lighter, cooler (90% similar). ColourPop PYT (P, $6.00) is darker (85% similar). MAC Tanarama (LE, $19.00) is lighter, cooler (80% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Peter (LE, $36.00) is less shimmery, cooler (80% similar). Surratt Beauty Lame (P, $36.00) is more shimmery, lighter, less pigmented (80% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque coverage that went on fairly evenly, but the color did settle into lip lines after an hour and a half of wear. It was lightly creamy and glided on without tugging on the lip. The lipstick lasted closer to four hours in total and was slightly drying. I think this lipstick would be better for layering, either patted over a darker lipstick or topping with a pigmented gloss to add more shimmer.

All I want for lipstick is youuuuuuu…
Haha!
I was considering this, but now that I see it on the lips, it’s a pass. Just not the Color for me.
Totally understand!
That’s a pretty shade on you!
Thanks, Meiya!
I could DEFINITELY see this lightly applied over a darker or even deep nude shade to give a more matte or satin lipstick depth and shimmer!
Wondering how this would look on my NC40 skintone, though…? Although I don’t believe Mariah Carey is much darker than me, she does have much lighter hair and dark eyes, both of which help in pulling off paler lipstick.
I think you could easily rock it layered! I find that the light/dark lip seems to be more preference and how one sees themselves than anything else!
This is SO 2000’s. I don’t dig this look, sorry :/ But is definitely sparkly!
It is a metallic one!
Omg yes! I had a weird deja vu sort of feeling when I saw it, like it seemed familiar but out for place at the same time. Now I know why! lol
I really wanted to like this, but I can’t. I love me some Mariah, but I wish she would have done a nude lip.
Aw, maybe they’ll do another collab!
They actually will, according to Popsugar.com: “Plus, she tipped us off that a full Mariah x MAC Beauty Icon collection is coming later in 2016.”
I truly hope so!
I totally agree! I am still trying to decide whether I should purchase it or not before it sells out. I would have much rather seen some type of nude lipstick from MC. However, like a lot of people have been saying it can probably still look amazing over a nude lip or some type of lipstick. I just don’t dig a frost or sparkly lipstick alone. It is just not my thing.
Still big “ups” to MC for working with the BEST -MAC.
I’m surprised, but like it!!
Yay!
Too light for me, I think I will pass.
I totally understand!
I actually think this would be beautiful over the top of a nude lipstick to add a sheen. Pretty but I wouldn’t purchase it.
I bet it would!
Well…it’s really 90s.
That’s one way to look at it, I guess!
This is the perfect lipstick to wear during the holidays.
It does seem very holiday-esque!
Funny you should say that. I thought it looked like Australia was missing out on this one. Strangely enough they have decided to release it here. On 1st February. *scratches head*
So sue me, I ‘fess to liking frosty lipsticks. Just not the super heavy over the top ones.. I would probably put lipbalm under this MAC one so it doesn’t pull quite as metallic. I have TF Peter and like that one too. Also, really love the LE NARS killer shine in Redemption.
I like ’em, too, Wendy! But I am a gal who likes her shimmer 😉
That makes 3 of us! Today I’m rocking my Air Kiss, and LOVIN’ the shimma! I’m getting this MC one and putting it on top of MAC Touch or UD Liar.
Ditto! I love the frost and shine!
Frost, shimmer, sparkle, glitter…it’s all good as far as I’m concerned.
Wow, it’s very pretty on you! Love the cool winter shimmer (reminds me of the Guerlain holiday snowflake collection), but I have a feeling it’s going to wash me out unless I put a warmer beige lipstick underneath it. I’m surprised she didn’t make it a gloss, or include some bronzers/highlighters in this collection.
I wonder who decides how limited/large a collection is.
What is on your cheeks?!?
Nevermind! Just saw it!
Glad you caught it 🙂
I think it looks nice. I like the gold sheen. But the packaging though. Why did they didnt they amp this up? I expected glitter packaging with her name sprawled across with a butterfly somewhere. Maybe turn the M into butterfly wings. Gees. Very meh.
It is odd!
I would use this for putting over a darker lipstick or putting in the center of the lips as it looks like it would be perfect for that. I may need to pick it up as I don’t have any shades like this in my collection.
Great idea, Deidre!
I’m surprised to see all the downvotes on this! No takers? Bueller?
Well, I for one dig it. I love its more multidimensional frost. I’m weirdly tempted to bust out the slightly darker ring of lipliner look…
Yep. Considering buying it most seriously. Also, Mariah! 😀 Brb, going to go listen to My All and feel nostalgic…
It would be great for an almost ombre kind of lip look, too 🙂
That’s the direction my mind was headed! Darker lip outline, but a little more shaded/graduated than the SUPER stark “my lips are a coloring book” outline.
Love your eye makeup but the lipstick is a pass for me.
Thanks, Sama!
This reminds me a lot of the CoverGirl Star Wars lipstick in the shade 70 “Nude”.
Awesome!
Mariah wears fairly natural makeup so I can see this color on her. However, for me it would probably make me look washed out.
Monica.
Seems like this is the concern of many!
I don’t like it. Plain and simple.
So far, it seems like the majority vote is nay!
About what I expected. Definitely a topper. I have a couple similar colors, so pass for me.
Happy you have something similar already! Money saved!
I didn’t even think that it would look so beautiful! I definitely need this in my life!
Woohoo!
The lipstick is just ehh! BUT…. your makeup!!! Tutorial please!! its stunning!!
Thanks, Jacqueline!
I would wear this lipstick over anything else to bring out the gloss of it. It is a really pretty colour, but I wouldn’t wear it by itself – it would make me look too pale and drawn. Really suits you though Christine.
Aw, thanks Genevieve!
Actually it looks awesome on you as-is
Thanks, Carie!
I wish it was pink : ) I think it would be nice on top of another color too!
I wish they’d done a holiday red to pair with it!
Now *that* would be pretty! What about this on top of a nice red?
Apologies to anyone who actually likes this but I think it’s really ugly. Reminds me of the frosty lipsticks we wore in the late 60’s, before makeup became as good quality as it is now and which left me with a long lived hatred of frosted anything (fortunately, the improved makeup of today has cured me of that hatred!)
Well, at least there are products today you like 😉
Oh yes… pretty pretty. I’m in! Looking super Christine- love the dark eyes with the shimmery lip- stealing your look! Thanks?
Thank you, Trish!
this looks really good on you 🙂
but i think one maybelline pearl lipstick that i own is really similar to that so i skip^^
Oh, nice! I’ll have to look for that one!
1998 called! It wants it’s lipstick back and it’s relevant pop stars!
I still might get this simply because I love Mariah. I just need to find a nude that compliments this color and at the same time flatters my complexion.
Personally, not a shimmer fan nor am I a big fan of Mariah. That being said I do think this would look great with a mild, super-matte Smokey eye! Something really smudged out, mild, and super matte to juxtapose against the metallic nude of the lipstick. Just my opinion! I also wish it wasn’t drying but that can be remedied with the right prep.
I’m conflicted! It does look kind of old fashioned, and the color is too light to be worn by itself, but I think I like it. I would use it as a highlight on top of my matte lipsticks, or to brighten up an overly vampy lip color.
LOL, of course Mariah’s lipstick would be sparkly, gold, and out of touch with what everyone else is doing. It looks a lot better than I expected though.
Oh this is pretty! I didn’t expect to like this but I actually really like it all on its own.
Heads up — you typoed the link to maccosmetics.com in the post!
Wow, I actually really like this. But given my affection for gold lipsticks, the sidestep into champagne is something that also does it for me. One of my fave lipsticks is still the old UD Midnight Cowboy one.
Given the MAC online launches though, I doubt I’d be able to snag one, though.
Fixed, thank you!
Well I LOVE a frost… and this one looks SO pretty! Since I’m SURE PROs don’t get a discount some limited packaging would have been nice. But oh well. Colors like this are SO much fun to layer over lip liners (or these days any number of liquid mattes that everyone and their uncle has available). I hate having to stalk the MAC site hoping to get it before it sells out though. That’s never fun.
That is very Mariah. Also covers all the bases for lipsticks I *avoid*, lol.
Looks like an Essence lipstick I bought by mistake. It’s so soft and balmy, not gritty, but so shimmery looking. I’ve only worn it inside 😀 lol
Thanks for the review, Christine. I actually liked this lipstick a lot, especially after seeing the gorgeous look you’ve created. I´ll definitely try to do it at home hehehe! xxx
Just no.
lol 🙂
It’s very pretty and it’s a modern twist on a kind of out-of-date trend combined with your very up-to-date look. I really like it!
I’m kind of into it. I could see layering it over a nude brown or rusty color lip liner. What finish is it, though? I’m allergic to a few of MAC’s.
I’m wondering how this compares to the MAC x Cinderella Free As a Butterfly lipstick – it looks more true gold than that one. I think this would be gorgeous over a very dark burgundy or plum lipstick.
I was all “meh” about this until I saw it on your lips…. I really love that frosty sheen it gives them!
It has nice shimmer. I think you could do a lot with it. I’m disappointed they didn’t release it with unique packaging. I wonder what they will do with her 2016 collection?
Oooo this would make a stunning holiday topper! I bet it’ll look amazing with a matte red or vampy lip. I kinda want it now lol
I think I can wear this but I don’t go clubbing anymore LOL
This will be a big hit for a few, but a miss for many. I’ve got this corner covered with the d/c’d Besame Champagne. (70s?). It’s similar, less frosted, less OTT, far more understated. I’d look like an utter fool in this, trying to look young and trendy, and I’m a quarter century too old for that attempt!
I don’t care how this will look on my lips, I want it. I have nothing like it, and I’m feeling this odd love for this frosty shimmer. Maybe it’s the season, quite cold here, now, but I don’t think so, as I’d absolutely wear this in the summer.
Is it okay to use as a cream eyeshadow or highlighter?
No idea if they used eye-safe glitter or dyes in it, but you’d probably be fine using it as a face highlighter.
Very pretty shade. I want to try it, but I’m going to wait to see it someone my skintone. Thanks for the swatch!
No problem, Aprill!
I love it in the close up but not in the photo further away. Decisions, decisions!
Oh man, further away is the more important one, lol!
I just got mine in the mail and so excited and than i opened it and the color is very light. Pictures online make it appear darker than it is. Still i thought ok lets see how it looks like on me. I look like i ate a powdered donut. Very disappointing. Definitely needs something else to balance it out. I have a med to light tan complexion with olive undertone.
It is a light shade!
I ended up ordering it and actually really like it. I don’t like to wear it alone, but paired with a darker liner (like Urban Decay 1993) looks amazing. I received many compliments today.
Awesome, Jen!
Hi Christine! Love what you do, I don’t buy a makeup product without checking to see if reviewed it! Question, how would you compare this to MAC Tanarama? I am out of Tanarama (it is one of my faves).
I think Tanarama is lighter but I’m going by memory (not sure I have it swatched anywhere).
