This formula causes an adverse reaction on me (as do other lip plumping products), so I was unable to wear these for testing longevity or wear. Plushglass is supposed to be a “sheer lip colour” that plumps and hydrates. It is much thinner and less tacky compared to traditional Lipglass, but it shares the same vanilla scent.

Meh. The packaging looks pretty, and these look like basic colors (nothing special), but it’s kind of pricey at $21 for very little product

Sorry hear that lip plumping products irritate your lips, Christine. I had a similar experience in the past, too. It was about almost 8 years ago I purchased a plumping lip gloss from Clinique (can’t remember the exact product name and it’s discontinued now or it belonged to a different product collection launch in Asia). Anyway, the formula itself was good, pretty long-lasting as a lipgloss, and according to the description, it has ginger and plant-based ingredients to create a warming, tingling feeling to “plump” your lips. (can’t believe I still remember these things!) It was my first and only lip plumping product so far. Then sadly I lost it and didn’t repurchase it somehow. I think it was the tingling feeling that I found not very pleasant that I didn’t want to try other similar products from then.

There are only a few (and none that I can remember at the moment, lol) that have been okay, and it seems like a lot of lipsticks or glosses that say “plumping” somewhere in the marketing but aren’t touted solely as plumping are fine. I know MAC, Buxom, and Duwop Lip Venom (the worst for me) don’t play nicely for me. There was another brand, too… smaller, niche… I cannot recall offhand.

I googled the name of the lipgloss I mentioned in review. It was called Clinique Full Potential Lips Plump and Shine (not to be confused with the dual-ended one, but it was a short single-colored one). I remember reading about Duwop Lip Venom as well. But then I found big lips look weird on me lol. And that became another big reason why I stay away from plumping lip product.

It’s been awhile since I myself bought a lip plumping gloss, hopefully my body chemistry hasn’t done a turnaround on me! I did have a bad reaction to only one brand, the one by Nyx . Not others, however. Because I am going to give Explosion a go. It looks insanely beautiful and I would be using it as a topper. Plus there’s that modern art deco logo too!

You’re such a trooper for even swatching these, Christine! I think I would be afraid to even put them on my arm if I were you. Thanks for the pics!

This collection is so pretty, and so far all things I would actually consider wearing regularly.
Christine, I think you have the same name twice up the top. (The second should be gg)

i just knew this had a dupe within the MAC line, as i am a SUCKER for their glosses…. even after i swatched Explosion i thought there was one… Pink Karat… Sinnamon(sp?), Beau… but after checking the stash (and your review) i have to accept that there isn’t… and you’re right, the shimmer is beaaaauuuutiful!!!! i was a bit bummed that i don’t have a dupe and might have to get over the fact that it’s a plushglass and get it anyway! oh darn!! i’m curious to try this over Black Knight.
