MAC Creme d’Nude Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “light beige-pink nude [with a Cremesheen finish].” It’s a muted, light peachy-beige with a hint of pink and a natural sheen. It had semi-sheer color coverage that went on unevenly and tended to catch on any imperfection on the lips, so I highly recommend exfoliating prior to applying this one. It wore well for three hours on me and was neither drying nor hydrating. This is a permanent shade. Tom Ford Beauty Vanilla Suede (DC, $50.00) is pinker. MAC Romantic Breakdown (LE, $16.00) is warmer. Urban Decay Sheer Walk of Shame (P, $20.00) is lighter. Tom Ford Beauty Orlando (LE, $32.00) is similar. Tom Ford Beauty Holden (LE, $32.00) is pinker. NARS Adriatic (LE, $26.00) is lighter. MAC What’s Haute? (LE, $16.00) is warmer. MAC Peach Beige (LE, $16.00) is lighter, more opaque. MAC Woodrose (LE, $16.00) is pinker. MAC Fleur d’Coral (LE, $16.00) is glossier. Marc Jacobs Beauty Pout (142) (LE, $30.00) is slightly darker. Maybelline Blushing Beige (915) (P, $7.49) is similar. MAC Pret-a-Pretty (LE, $17.00) is lighter, more matte. MAC Innocence Beware (LE, $16.00) is pinker. Buxom Nudist (P, $21.00) is similar. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

MAC Morange Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “vivid orange [with an Amplified finish].” It’s a bold, brightened orange with warm, red undertones and very, very fine lighter orange shimmer. It had fully opaque color payoff that went on smoothly. The texture was slightly thicker with a more velvety, satin-like feel with a natural finish. On me, it lasted for five hours. This shade is also part of the permanent range. MAC Love Feeling (LE, $20.00) is darker, glossier. MAC Ravishingly Rich (P, $23.00) is similar. NARS Geraldine (P, $32.00) is similar. Illamasqua Soaked (P, $26.00) is similar. Bite Beauty Clementine (LE, $24.00) is darker, more matte.NARS Timanfaya (P, $25.00) is similar. Milani Sweet Nectar (P, $5.49) is similar. MAC Booyah (LE, $18.00) is slightly redder, darker. MAC Fashion Nomad (LE, $16.00) is similar. Inglot #103 Lipstick Cream (P, $12.00) is glossier. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

MAC Steam Heat Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “vivid yellow-red [with a Satin finish].” It’s a medium-dark red with warm, yellow undertones and a satin finish. It had rich pigmentation that covered the lips well with even, smooth application. The consistency was lightly creamy with a sort of velvety, light-medium thick feel that stayed on well. This shade wore for six hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. NARS Rita (P, $32.00) is darker, warmer. NARS Annabella (P, $32.00) is brighter. Guerlain Red Strass (327) (P, $37.00) is more shimmery. MAC True Love’s Kiss (LE, $16.00) is glossier. MAC Head in the Clouds (LE, $16.00) is lighter, more shimmery. NARS Mysterious Red (LE, $25.00) is more matte. MAC Ruffian Red (LE, $16.00) is slightly brighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

MAC Tumble Dry Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “light peachy coral [with a Lustre finish]. It’s a muted, peach-orange with warm undertones and a soft shine. It had semi-sheer color coverage–which is in line with the Lustre formula–that is a little streaky going on. It lasted for two hours and was drying for me. Marc Jacobs Beauty Severine (112) (P, $30.00) is more opaque. MAC Sweet & Sour (P, $16.00) is more opaque, pinker, more matte. MAC Posh Tone (P, $22.00) is darker, more matte. MAC Delectable (LE, $16.00) is darker, more matte. MAC Cozy Up (LE, $16.00) is more matte. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

The Wash & Dry Collection will launch online on May 14th and be available in-stores on May 21st.

Mor and SH look gorgeous on you.
Steam heat is gorgeous but is dupable. . With Sephora and ULTA giving rewards etc. I’m going to be more selective in my make up purchases from Mac. These colors, although gorgeous , are a dime a dozen and I am going to pass

Love the packaging but underwhelmed by the product. Creme d’ Nude might have been a maybe for me but the color seems like a re-do. I already have too many similar shades with better payoff. Meh, despite the packaging, I’ll be passing on these.

I think the packaging of this collection is the selling point, along with the gorgeous highlighter. On the flip side, the colour range and product choices seem quite predictable for this summer collection. I’m sure it will sell well though, I just wish MAC would cut down the number of collections and just create some really amazing ones that they’re most certainly capable of doing.

Love, love, love the Morange! I’d love to have this one coupled with the similar lipgloss/lipglass. Don’t have anything like either & the pretty packaging makes these easy purchases for me =)

Nicole Avatar

Now I remember why I did not purchase Crem de Nude..Probably pulled your old review on my phone, lol! I think I will be passing on all! I like the orange and red. But I own Nars Geraldine and I am sure I can dupe that red many times over. $ saved for all the other stuff on my wish list! 🙂

Ginger Avatar

For the love of god can they PLEASE make some unique and interesting PRODUCTS to go in the gorgeous packaging? This makes me so mad. I want one of these on packaging alone but I have zero interest in or need for any of those shades T_T *sigh* Mac please….why…

Kate Avatar

The packaging and colours really appeal to me- the whole collection looks very happy. But the only shade that I think would work on me is Steam Heat and I feel like I’ve already got a lot of reds in that range. In Mac’s place, I would’ve considered re-releasing Hibiscus from a few years back. It’s a beautiful, summery red-coral and I don’t think it’s ever been re-promoted.

Kate Avatar

I wish that they’d take advantage of the “juicy” lip looks that go with Summer to introduce an upgraded version of their lustre formula. Something in bold colours, but not completely opaque and with a nice, glossy finish.

Stacey Avatar

Colors always look good on you, Christine. However I don’t like the title. Sounds like the laundromat. Could have thought of a better slogan.

Wendy Avatar

wish they had more shades, more wearable too. Love the packaging but I can’t justify buying one of the lipsticks
Have a nice day 🙂

All four lipsticks and both of the blushes are warm-toned! I do think that Morange and Steam Heat are gorgeous colors, but they’re difficult for me to wear in a flattering way. I’ve already passed on their dupes from NARS, which is a formula that I love. Oh, well, my wallet’s happy.

Currently I’m on the lookout for lip colors with SPF. I think I’ll be spending a lot of time outdoors with one of my clients this summer, and, since you’re supposed to re-apply sunscreen every two hours, just putting a thin layer of balm with SPF under my lip color in the morning doesn’t seem like enough protection on those days. So far I’ve come up with Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 and Bite Beauty BB for Lips. I wonder if anyone knows of anything else?

YSL Rouge Volupte (SPF 15), YSL Rouge Pur Couture (SPF 15), Perricome MD No Lipstick (SPF 15),Lancome L’Absolu Rouge (SPF 12), Clinique High Impact (SPF 15; took forever to get the rating, not listed practically anywhere, but found the .gov listing for it).

I have been wanting to buy Morange forever! I don’t know why I still haven’t… It looks SO GOOD! I already have a could of red-orange lipsticks so I think that is why I couldn’t justify buying it, but man! This makes me want to buy it again!

Sarah S. Avatar

I was just thinking, “I love the packaging, but do I really NEED any of these?” And then I saw Morange. Droooooool!

I tried Creme d’Nude once and I remember liking it a lot, it lasted more than any nude lipstick i ever had and didn’t dry my lips up, it was very light. 😀 My friend said it was as light as my skin (as in my lips kinda dissapeared) so i didn’t buy it.

Ceranna Avatar

I think I am going to try and snag Steam Heat when it comes out. I know it’s nothing too unique, but I have an addiction to red lipstick and that packaging is amazing. Hopefully, I can snag it online since the nearest MAC store is 2 1/2 hours from me.

Helene Avatar

I’m glad the two I was most interested in got A’s. I’m not sure I can carry of Morange, but it’s so pretty and, in my mind, edgy at the same time. Steam Heat is a very pretty red, I might get Rita instead, I’m not sure. To my surprise I liked Tumble Dry, that could be because you show it of so prettily on the photos, but I must check it out at the counter even if it got a low grade. And this is me, I never go for neutral lips 🙂

Kat Avatar

I really wanted Morange (I love oranges and the packaging) but it sold out before I could get it, so I think I’m getting Steam Heat (I really don’t have any “traditional” red lipsticks) and it is LE, so I could always get Morange anyway.

Kat Avatar

I ended up getting (and loving) Steam Heat. It’s a really nice red for summer, since it has such warm undertones. All my other reds are vampier, berry reds, so it’s nice to have something different.

Livi Avatar

Morange and steam heat LOOKS beautiful!!!!!! I picked up those two!!!!! I was thinking of the tumble dry also but that looks so… Unpromising lol! You look great with the bold colors!
