MAC’s Mineralize Blush formula is supposed to be a “blush that builds lightly” that has a lightweight feel and “luminous colour.” Warm Soul had semi-opaque color coverage that could be sheered out, but it didn’t build to fully opaque color either. The texture was lightly dusty but smooth and easily blended and diffused on the skin. The finish is somewhere between natural and luminous; it is one of the less shimmery shades in the Mineralize Blush formula, but it appears more shimmery on the skin as it is blended in than it does in the pan or just swatched. This shade wore well for seven hours before fading on me.

This is a very pretty, natural shade for lighter skin tones. I like the way it brightens your face without looking fake or too shimmery.

Unfortunately, the only baked formula I’ve found that doesn’t disappear on me within six hours is Milani’s matte baked blushes. I really wish they would expand the color selection because it is such a great formula for a great price.

Anyway, as much as I want to go grab this now I know it wouldn’t last me throughout the day. Bummer, because I really like the color :-/.

What is MAC doing to their blush colors? I have Warm Soul from several years ago and it has much more color than this one. I have the original color swirls formula and get warm reddish tones. It requires a very light hand or there is too much color.

Thank you!!!! I KNEW this looked much different than Warm Soul’s past iteration. It was yet another piece I lost when part of my collection was stolen. I’m so glad you confirmed my thoughts and it’s not just me 🙂

I’ve always wanted this because it looks so good in everyone’s swatches. But on my arm it swatches very similar to Clinique Nude Pop, and I love Nude Pop so…. why get this? It’s beautiful though, and I still kind of want it. Do you not think it’s similar to Nude Pop?

Nude Pop is a lot lighter on me and has more shimmer in it and has a little more pink in its base, I think (Warm Soul shows up more orange-y on me).

Definitely my favorite neutral kind of blush. It shows up more reddish on my NC5 skin and I apply it to the outer edges of my cheeks going towards the hinge of my jaw. Looks terrible on the apples of my cheeks but gives a flush of neutral color.

I LOVE IT. Definitely one of my favorites. I have 2 backups in case they discontinue it.

You’ll be glad you got backups – from the comments here it seems the color has changed now – effectively making it discontinued yet confusingly continued!

It hurts me, what they did to this powder. It was my HG powder, before the change of the packaging AND the major formula change. They changed everything – the shade (it was earthy, golden, fit almost every look), the formula (was more shiny, less colour), the effect.
It was unique. Now it’s just one of many 🙁

Did they update the color? I picked mine up a year maybe 2 ago and it looks like more of a rose gold in the pan, swatched, and on my skin. Very similar to Benefit’s Rockateur. Maybe they reformulated it or it’s just my computer screen?

Christine, you do NOT suck! Please don’t be so hard on yourself, you have the BEST, most primo makeup blog out here, so it hurts to hear you put yourself down. In the makeup blogosphere; you are a Rock Star! Believe it!

Awww, you make me wanna just go all out and try and ship you my older version of Warm Soul (despite how much I love this blush), but the post services in this country are soo bad, you’ll get it in 2-3 month at best 🙂 Let me know if this is smth you’d want though, that’d be my token of appreciation of what you do 🙂

Scary, but this would make a really nice highlighter for me. Yeah, I’m serious, too. But as a blush, this would be quite light and barely noticeable on me. Have been hearing that this blush used to be a darker shade, but I missed that ship as it went to sea.

I just bought Warm Soul last week after I went into MAC to test out the new Studio Waterweight foundation and the artist put it on top of the foundation (which I also ended up buying). I’m NW20 with blurry freckles and this color looks surprisingly natural – not like blush at all, which I think is great for those “no makeup makeup” days. I’m sorry, though, that the folks who liked the prior version are disappointed by this one.
