MAC Warm Snow Ball Mini Lipstick Kit Review, Photos, Swatches
Warm
MAC Warm Snow Ball Mini Lipstick Kit ($29.50 for 0.15 oz.) contains a shimmery gold, neutral red, and cool red. Only one shade is truly warm-toned, while one is extremely cool-toned, so I’m not sure why this is the “warm” kit. The shades themselves are pretty, and MAC always knows how to create a beautiful red, so it’s not a surprise that the two in the set did well. The shimmery gold will work for layering or for someone who likes some sheerness in their lipsticks but will disappoint anyone looking for good opacity.
Value
A full-sized MAC lipstick retails for $17.50 and contains 0.10 oz. or costs $175.00/oz. The set contains $26.25 worth of lipstick.

Just Beaming
Just Beaming is a medium gold with warm undertones and fine gold, pink, and light gold pearl. It had semi-sheer coverage that was buildable to medium coverage, which made it more ideal for layering or patted onto lips with a fingertip for more even coverage. The lipstick had moderate slip, and I did not feel like the shimmer spread as evenly as I would have liked when applied directly from the tube. This shade lasted for two and a half hours on me but was slightly hydrating.

MAC Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes, and the pigmentation and wear tend to be dependent on the finish. The sheer finishes, like Lustres, tend to wear for only a couple of hours and have sheer coverage (as designed) and are non-drying.
Some of the original Matte shades have a stiffer, drier formula, while newer ones have a more velvety, silicone-feel to them, and the latter are creamier, more comfortable to wear, and easier to apply, but most Matte shades are quite pigmented and long-wearing, though some are drying.
The Amplified and Satin finishes tend to have good pigmentation, lightly creamy to moderately creamy consistencies with a bit of shine, and moderate to long wear with deeper, richer shades wearing longer. The Frost and Metallic finishes have the most variance between shades with coverage ranging from semi-sheer to opaque with average wear and non-drying to slightly drying formulas. All MAC lipsticks are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.

Tenor Voice
Tenor Voice is a bright, medium red with neutral undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque pigmentation that applied evenly across the lips without tugging on them. The texture was more velvety and slightly thin, but it had more slip than Candy Cane overall (and a touch more of a shine initially). Though it wasn’t noticeable from a normal viewing distance, there was a smidgen of color that had pulled into my deeper lip lines. It wore well for over six hours, left a slight stain behind, and was a touch drying over time.

Candy Cane
Candy Cane is a rich, medium red with cool, blue undertones and a matte finish. The pigmentation was nearly opaque in a single layer but went on very evenly–you can see a hint of my lip freckle peeking through. The texture was smooth, lightly creamy and a bit denser, so the lipstick sat exceptionally well on the lips and made mine appear smoother. The color was still going strong after six hours, left a stain behind, and was non-drying.

I’m really liking the look of this set, too! Just as confused as to what MAC was thinking calling this one “Warm”, but the one with 2 warm nude/mlbb shades gets named “Cool” by them??? I do like both sets anyways!
A beautiful little trio of shades that are eminently wearable. A perfect Christimas gift, I am thinking.
I love these sets but how many red lippies can one have?!
OMG I’m so happy! Tenor Voice is my favourite red lipstick ever and I’m so glad it’s back in this set! The other shades are a nice extra, but I’m picking this up for Tenor Voice 😉
