Viva Glam Sia

MAC Viva Glam Sia Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a rich, medium-dark red with neutral-to-cool undertones and a matte finish. MAC described it as a “warm” red, though it looked cooler on me and occasionally, neutral, but it had a pinkish base when I sheered it out.

It had rich, opaque pigmentation that covered my lips with smooth, even color in a single stroke. The texture was dense, slightly firm, but it slid across my lips in a fluid motion with moderate pressure that avoided dragging. It was lightweight, thin without being clingy, and it sat well on my lips. The color was still going strong after five hours of wear, and it was neither drying nor hydrating over time.

Formula Overview

$19.00/0.1 oz. - $190.00 Per Ounce

MAC Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes, and the pigmentation and wear tend to be dependent on the finish. The sheer finishes, like Lustres, tend to wear for only a couple of hours and have sheer coverage (as designed) and are non-drying.

Some of the original Matte shades have a stiffer, drier formula, while newer ones have a more velvety, silicone-feel to them, and the latter are creamier, more comfortable to wear, and easier to apply, but most Matte shades are quite pigmented and long-wearing, though some are drying.

The Amplified and Satin finishes tend to have good pigmentation, lightly creamy to moderately creamy consistencies with a bit of shine, and moderate to long wear with deeper, richer shades wearing longer. The Frost and Metallic finishes have the most variance between shades with coverage ranging from semi-sheer to opaque with average wear and non-drying to slightly drying formulas. All MAC lipsticks are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.

Lovely shade. I have UD Rock Steady, Charlotte Tilbury Carina and another UD lipstick which is listed as a dupe but cannot remember the name!! Talk about short term memory loss. I love a good cool toned red and I prefer this moister looking formula over the other dupes I have. I also like supporting Viva Glam project.

Maybe, no dupes. Think it would be warm on me…how I wish I had a better mental map of how reds differ on you vs. me. Surprised there is no Pat dupe; maybe in the extended dupes.

While I have lots of red lipsticks, and dupes for this I’ll still get it. It’s Viva Glam and I really like to support that initiative. Besides I do love red lips.

A nice red, I won’t be getting it for myself. But, because it is a Viva Glam lipstick and it contributes to a great cause, I am buying it for my mom. I will occasionally borrow it from her though haha.

I actually am in the market for a bright, warm red because I’ve paired down my collection. But this looks pretty close to Nars Rita. I wish this was a bit brighter. It’s really nice though, and I never mind buying Viva Glam. Hopefully it sticks around for a while.

I bought this beautiful shade, one because it’s a great cause, two because I love Sia & three because you can never have too many reds ! I wore it on Valentine’s Day & lined it with MAC cherry lip liner. I loved it ! It was beautiful & wore extremely well through eating & drinking ! It will surely be one of my faves to date ! Needless to say I have a good number of red lipsticks already.

Hi Christine ! I was a bit surprised but I think it looked cooler on me. Although I have a good number of reds this one looked different somehow ? I loved it !

This is really lovely (reminds me of the perfect cool red that I had in grad school in the late 90s – I think it was some sort of valentine’s day special shade that I got at Walgreens with a stupid name like Love or Lover).

On the other hand, the search for the perfect red is the one bad makeup habit that I have pretty successfully kicked – I haven’t paid money for a red for over a year, well, except in palette form with a lot of other colors. I did it by gathering all of my reds in one box (it’s both beautiful/decorative and overwhelming – I seriously might have 30 years worth of lipstick in that box).

I just got this and it is beautiful. I agree with Christine though it’s cooler toned to more neutral on me when I apply it. But here’s the thing, I can see fine gold shimmer in the bullet and on my lips when I apply the lipstick. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a matte base with gold shimmer. I wonder if that’s why it looks on the warmer side in the bullet. I don’t mind as I like the look, but I was just curious as I haven’t heard anyone else mention the gold shimmer.

I had the same experience, I see gold shimmer both in the tube and my lips when the light hits, I personally love it and think it’s a good reason to get it as it’s not just a regular ruby woo like
