Pine for Me

MAC Pine for Me Eye Kohl ($21.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a meidum-dark green with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable color coverage paired with a slightly drier, firmer consistency that tugged slightly on my lower lash line but wasn’t overly sharp or so dry that it didn’t go on evenly.

It was easiest and most comfortable to apply in shorter, overlapping strokes with a lighter hand. It lasted well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Cobalt Kohl

MAC Cobalt Kohl Eye Kohl ($21.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a deep, inky violet with cool, blue undertones and a soft sheen. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation with a drier consistency that still moved fairly comfortably over my lash line.

It was a more traditional kohl, so it felt sharper compared to more silicone-heavy formulas (which can glide on better but sometimes move around more). It stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Better than Beige

MAC Better than Beige Eye Kohl ($21.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a light-medium, yellowy gold with moderate, warm undertones and a shimmery finish. It had semi-sheer color payoff, which applied unevenly and was difficult to build up.

The drier, thinner consistency didn’t lend itself to layering up as well and seemed to push the shimmer around, which resulted in more unevenness when I tried to get more coverage. What little was visible lasted for seven hours before thinning visibly.

I’m a huge fan of MACs eye kohls and every collection I hope to see some LE releases. But… I sadly don’t like any of these colors. I wish they had brought back Tarnish.

Cobalt Kohl is a beauty!
I thing it would make a lovely addition to my enormous stash of eyeliner pencils. Yes, I have that many and need to purge, but I don’t have anything like this beauty.
I like Pine for Me a lot as well and drier eyeliner pencils aren’t an issue for me, so maybe I’ll get both, we’ll see.
A pity about Better than Beige, turned out not better at all, didn’t it!

How I miss Zoeva pencils (and most of the other d/c’d products.) I scored the neutral ones and was planning the colored for the next winter sale. Boom. Not to be. I checked to see if S still had T Rex…currently yes. The quirk was I was unable to visit the S site without enabling location. Had to do a work around, bec I really don’t like tracking.
