MAC Style Surge Mineralize Rich Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.14 oz.) is described as a “neutral coral cream.” It’s an orange-coral with a hint of pink and a creamy, slightly glossy sheen. MAC Lady at Play is quite a bit darker and more red/pink in comparison. Laura Mercier Tangerine is darker and pinker. MAC Vegas Volt is darker and slightly more orange. MAC Crosswires is darker and pinker.

This shade was fully opaque, and it has a creamier consistency than the other shades–there was a wetness to it that gave it that glossy finish. It applied evenly and easily, and though it was creamier, it didn’t feel any thicker/thinner than the majority of the range. It was the most hydrating shade of the twelve colors released. Style Surge lasted four hours on me when I wore it, and it was incredibly comfortable to wear.

Christine how does this compare to Betty Bright?? is betty bright much more pink and bright in comparison? I have betty bright and this one looks like a nice muted, more orange version of it if i’m right.. thanks 🙂

I love these orange-y corals, but it’s one of the colors that my cool undertone refuses to work with no matter what I choose. Still, I’m pleased with this line. This is major step up from their last major permanent collection.

This is one of those colours that just brightens the face. I haven’t purchased a MAC lipstick since Vegas Volt (that looked like orange chalk on me). This one is very tempting.

I think this is what I want vegas volt to be. I have that too, the employee was wearing it and has similar to my coloring and it looked fabulous on her, but it just can’t work on me.

Hi Christine
Just love your reviews
What lipstick formula would you say these are closest to
in terms of color payoff, amplified, creemsheens or the sheers

Thanks

could you help me? I can hardly find other swatches of style surge, than yours on the net, but since I have very fair lips, almost felsh tinted, and fair ivory skin, I can’t rely on yours, though they are very hlepful, but don’t show the actual color I will get on my lips…

Looking for the perfect coral, I have to make a choice between Style Surge and Vegas Volt (I can’t afford both).
Wich one would be the best, on your opinion, on pale lips and fair skin (I don’t have a match on MAC foundations, but I wear Make Up For Ever #130 in summer, and a miw of #130 and #115 in winter (#115 alone is too pale for me, matches my neck perfectly but my face looks flat and creepy… zombie style, lol).

What are your thoughts about both these shades (formulas, lasting time, coverage, …)?
