The Summer Season: Laura Mercier Tangerine Lipstick

Laura Mercier Tangerine Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a creamy shade of coral-pink with a glossy sheen and full-color coverage. It’s beautiful and bright without being overwhelming and in-your-face. The lipstick is moisturizing while it wears for three to four hours with ease. It has a nice lightweight feel though it still packs plenty of color and doesn’t have a lot of slip, even though it applies smoothly without trouble.ย  I can definitely see this shade becoming a new favorite!ย  It also reminds me a bit of Chanel Genial, but not as bright and a little more coral.

Is this the right coral for you? Would you wear it?

The Summer Season is a series of posts featuring bright, vibrant shades of coral, orange, and pink lipsticks and lipglosses — all perfect for a summer of fun — that runs through July 2010.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! These lipstick posts are dangerous! lol, every time you post corals, peaches, or warm toned pinks I’m like “I NEEEEED THIS! NOW!” (my husband has now started telling me I’m very confused with what “needs” and “wants” are, lol!)

-I think I “need” this… ๐Ÿ˜›

This coral looks great! I’ve been unlucky regarding to corals.. Both lipstick and nail polish, the ones I had the change to try look awful on me! They are either too orange or too pink. Too bad that this one is a bit expensive..

Ohhhh, Christine, this is SUCH a me colour. But I just bought MAC Crosswires… Do you this it’s similar enough to Tangerine that I can trick myself into not wanting it? ๐Ÿ™‚

I think you could trick yourself ๐Ÿ˜‰ Or at least hold off! It’s permanent as far as I know, so you can wait on it, too!

Hey christine! I know this is a random question(s), but I’m really curious. With all the products you receive to review, do you use most of them in everyday wear? Or usually only once and that’s it? And do companies almost always send you full-size products?

I don’t do too many full manicures, just because there is always something new to swatch, lol!

It just depends on the company, to be honest! I don’t usually accept sample-sized products, because I prefer to photograph in its real packaging and often the sample size is not enough for a real review (e.g. skincare).

Oh, I really, really like that!!! I’ve been waffling on getting MAC Vegas Volt, because it’s not bright enough for my taste. I wonder if I should try this, even if it’s not as “kapow” as I normally wear. Hmmm. Lovely!

That is SUCH a gorgeous color! It’s always such a pleasure to see your Summer Season updates! I’ve never found a coral pink that’s quite worked on me though. Do you think it will fare well on cooler skintones? I’m an NC30.

Hey Shi!

NC30 = warm toned! I think it’d be great on NC30 skin for sure, and I think this may be just bright enough and still not too warm to work on cooler skin.

Hi Christine,

I like the Tangerine LS, but what is the name of the swatch on the far right? I think that shade would be more suitable for me.
